Val Kilmer's official cause of death and funeral details REVEALED

The official cause of death for acclaimed actor Val Kilmer has been confirmed as pneumonia, according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ from the Los Angeles County Department of Health.
Kilmer, best known for his iconic roles in Top Gun, Batman Forever, and The Doors, passed away on April 1 at the age of 64. His daughter had previously revealed that he died after a battle with pneumonia.
The death certificate lists acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, chronic respiratory failure, and squamous cell carcinoma of the base of the tongue as underlying conditions that contributed to his passing. Additional factors included malnutrition and a tracheocutaneous fistula—a condition resulting from a long-term tracheostomy.
According to the documents obtained by the portal, Val was cremated on April 7.
It was also reported that Kilmer had been grappling with serious health issues for several years before his sudden passing. He was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2015, for which he underwent treatment that significantly damaged his vocal cords. By the time he reprised his role as Iceman in Top Gun: Maverick (2022), filmmakers had to use AI technology to recreate his voice. Sources close to the actor also told the portal that he had become bedridden for months leading up to his death.

The news of Kilmer’s passing sent shockwaves through Hollywood, with tributes pouring in from fellow actors, directors, co-stars and fans. Tom Cruise held a moment of silence at CinemaCon in honour of his Top Gun co-star, while other industry legends including Francis Ford Coppola, Cher, and Jim Carrey shared heartfelt messages remembering Kilmer’s talent, humour, and unforgettable screen presence.
Several Bollywood stars from Kareena Kapoor Khan to Ranveer Singh also took to their social media handles to pay tribute to the late star.

‘Sikandar’ box office collection Day 12: Salman Khan starrer sees earnings dip under Rs 1 crore; faces stiff competition from Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ |

'Sikandar' box office collection Day 12: Salman Khan starrer sees earnings dip under Rs 1 crore; faces stiff competition from Sunny Deol's 'Jaat'

Salman Khan‘s latest action entertainer Sikandar has completed its second week at the box office, however, it did so, on an all-time low. The film released on March 30, saw its box office collections dip under Rs 1 crore for the first time, according to early estimates on Ssacnilk.com.
The film reportedly experienced a noticeable drop in momentum as it headed into its 12th day. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, Sikandar earned approximately Rs 75 lakh on Thursday, marking one of its lowest single-day collections so far. This sharp dip in earnings came after the film collected an impressive Rs 90.25 crore in its first week, with the second week adding an estimated Rs 17.6 crore to the tally.
The film reportedly earned an estimated total net collection of Rs 107.85 crore.
While Sikandar had a strong opening and benefitted from Eid festivities and Salman Khan’s massive fan base, the buzz appears to have slowed considerably heading into its third weekend. Competition from newer releases like the Sunny Deol starrer ‘Jaat’ has also reportedly eaten into the film’s box office business. The action movie which debuted in cinemas on Thursday, earned an estimated Rs 10 crore on Day 1 at the box office.
Directed by AR Murugadoss and backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar was positioned as a mass-market action entertainer, packed with high-octane sequences. The film’s music and action choreography were widely appreciated, but critics gave the screenplay and emotional depth mixed reviews. This mixed word-of-mouth may have contributed to the decline in weekday footfalls.
With Rs 107.85 crore in the bag, the film still stands as one of the better performers of the year. However, its ability to maintain momentum into the third week will now depend heavily on the weekend numbers and whether the film can lure in the masses or if it will have to bow out of the box office race as one of Salman’s lowest-performing films in recent time.

The Telugu film industry witnessed a stylish new entrant on Thursday as Jack, a spy action comedy starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda, opened to a promising start at the box office.

Solid opening
According to the early estimates from the Sacnilk website, the film minted Rs 2.50 crore (India net) on its first day, marking a solid debut for a non-festival release.

Spy comedy film
Directed and written by Bommarillu Bhaskar, Jack blends high-stakes espionage with comedy. Siddhu Jonnalagadda, who plays a character intriguingly named Pablo Neruda, leads the cast alongside Vaishnavi Chaitanya, Prakash Raj, Naresh, Brahmaji, and Ravi Prakash.
Decent occupancy rates
The film recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 24.41% on its opening day, with steady attendance across most time slots. Morning shows saw 24.83% occupancy, which was followed by 27.15% in the afternoon, a dip to 20.71% in the evening, and a slight rebound to 24.95% during night shows.
Hyderabad led the regional occupancy chart with a strong 28% average across 443 shows, while Chennai surprisingly saw the highest single-region occupancy at 44%, albeit with limited show count. Bengaluru and Vijayawada clocked in at 18.50% and 14.75% respectively, showing a need for stronger word-of-mouth in these regions.
The combination of spy thrills, comedy, and Siddhu’s rising popularity seems to have worked well for the film’s initial reception. Early audience reactions praise the film’s fast-paced storytelling, witty dialogues, and the stylish portrayal of Siddhu’s character.
ETimes review
We gave the film a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5 and our review reads, “Visually, the film tries to punch above its weight. There are a few well-executed action sequences, but they’re also interspersed with some poorly choreographed ones. The film also suffers from continuity issues, with scenes that jump abruptly or feel loosely stitched together. Despite these shortcomings, Jack manages to entertain in parts, largely due to Siddhu’s lively screen presence and a few cleverly written moments. If you’re a fan of Siddhu Jonnalagadda and enjoyed his antics in DJ Tillu, you might find Jack mildly entertaining. But if you’re looking for a well-balanced spy thriller or a tight comedy, temper your expectations.”

Soulja Boy found liable for abuse and sexual assault of ex-assistant; woman awarded over $4 million in damages |

Soulja Boy found liable for abuse and sexual assault of ex-assistant; woman awarded over $4 million in damages

A jury on Thursday found that rapper Soulja Boy was liable for sexually assaulting and physically and emotionally abusing a former assistant, awarding the woman more than $4 million in damages.
The decision from the Los Angeles County jurors came after a three-week trial in Santa Monica, California.
The 34-year-old Soulja Boy, whose legal name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was found liable for assault, sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Jurors did not find him liable for false imprisonment and other allegations. They found the woman should get about $4 million in compensatory damages and another $250,000 in punitive damages.
“Today’s verdict is just the beginning of justice for Soulja Boy’s victims, and other victims in the music industry,” plaintiff’s attorney Neama Rahmani said in a statement.
Lead defense attorney Rickey Ivie said in his own statement: “We maintain that the evidence does not support the verdict. It is unfortunate that aspersions and misperceptions of a culture were allowed to influence the trial. Mr. Way fully intends to pursue his post-trial remedies and to fight for a just result in this case.”
The woman was not identified by name in the lawsuit she filed in 2021, and The Associated Press does not typically name people who say they have been sexually abused.
She said she began working for Soulja Boy in 2018, and he agreed to pay her $500 a week for cleaning his house, cooking for him and doing other personal tasks. But she says she was never paid.
The two began a romantic relationship, and soon after he began abusing her, raping her, kicking her, punching her and threatening her with violence and death, her lawsuit alleges.
She believed she was in love with him, and he manipulated her into staying until 2020 despite repeated acts of violence, the lawsuit says.
She was beaten and raped again when she returned to retrieve her things months after leaving him, the lawsuit says.
The Chicago hip-hop artist is best known for his 2007 single “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” which went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and brought him a Grammy nomination for best rap song.

Jaat box office collection Day 1: Sunny Deol’s action movie off to a moderate start with Rs 9.5 crore collection |

Jaat box office collection Day 1: Sunny Deol's action movie off to a moderate start with Rs 9.5 crore collection

Bollywood star Sunny Deol returned to the big screens on Thursday, with the release of his latest pan-India action adventure ‘Jaat’. The film which hit theatres amidst much anticipation, sadly failed to rake in the big bucks. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 9.50 crore net on its opening day — a decent figure, though falling short of the thunderous debut many expected to match ‘Gadar 2’.
The film, directed by Gopichand Malineni, comes a year after Deol made headlines for his blockbuster Gadar 2, which opened to a massive Rs 40 crore in 2023 and went on to gross a total lifetime collection of Rs 525 crore during its theatrical run.
While comparisons were inevitable, the relatively muted performance of Jaat has raised eyebrows in trade circles. Advance bookings hinted at the a rather neutral response from the audience. According to the report, the film earned an estimated Rs 2.37 crore by Wednesday night, which was significantly lower than Gadar 2’s pre-release haul of Rs 17.60 crore. Jaat also struggled to cross the Rs 1 crore mark in advance sales in any major territory, with the exception of the NCR.
Despite this, trade analysts remain cautiously optimistic. Action-heavy films like Jaat often rely on strong walk-in audiences, good word of mouth and high spot-bookings which could still swing the tide in its favour.
However, stiff competition looms with Salman Khan’s Sikandar currently dominating screens across the country. While the Bollywood action film is still underperforming, its box office numbers set it up to be one of hte biggest contenders for Jaat this weekend.
As Jaat moves into its opening weekend, all eyes will be on its day-to-day performance to determine whether Sunny Deol’s latest can work its magic on the audience and score another Rs 500 crore for Deol at the box office.

Ajith Kumar’s much-awaited entertainer ‘Good Bad Ugly’ has kickstarted its theatrical run with an impressive opening at the box office.
Good Bad Ugly Movie Review

Strong opening at BO

According to early estimates reported by the Sacnilk website, the film has minted Rs 28.50 crore net across all languages in India on its first day, Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Good Bad Ugly – Official Hindi Trailer

Occupancy rates
The film’s Tamil version led the charge, recording a strong 79.47% occupancy across shows throughout the day. Night shows alone witnessed a peak occupancy of 88.81%, indicating Ajith’s massive fan pull and positive word-of-mouth. The morning, afternoon, and evening shows followed with 73.14%, 81.14%, and 74.80% respectively.
In contrast, the Telugu version of Good Bad Ugly registered a relatively modest 16.98% overall occupancy, with the highest being during night shows at 20.55%. Despite the lower figures in Telugu-speaking regions, the pan-India response has been promising, setting the stage for a strong weekend ahead.
Adhik Ravichandran directed the film, which features an ensemble cast that includes Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Rahul Dev, Yogi Babu, Priya Prakash Varrier, Jackie Shroff, Tinnu Anand, Sunil Varma, and Sayaji Shinde.
Our review
We gave the film a solid rating of 3 out of 5 and our review reads, “With Good Bad Ugly, director Adhik Ravichandran cooks up an unabashed fan vehicle for Ajith Kumar that’s overloud, chaotic and still largely entertaining. The good news is that for Ajith fans, the film is nothing short of a celebration of their idol, with almost every scene a providing a callback to the superstar’s older hits. Adhik’s approach isn’t exactly new. We had Karthik Subbaraj doing something similar with Petta, though the way in which that film packaged in the references now seems more understated compared to this one’s in-your-face approach. But the end result is the same: the fans just love it.”

Sushmita Sen reunites with ex-boyfriend Rohman Shawl at Mumbai event, but the duo refuses to pose together | Hindi Movie News

Sushmita Sen reunites with ex-boyfriend Rohman Shawl at Mumbai event, but the duo refuses to pose together

Sushmita Sen and her ex-boyfriend Rohman Shawl are once again making headlines, this time for showing up together at a recent event in Mumbai. Despite announcing their breakup back in 2021, the duo’s frequent joint appearances continue to fuel gossip about where their relationship currently stands.
Sushmita and Rohman make a stylish entrance
The former couple turned heads with their coordinated fashion choices. Sushmita kept it elegant in a white shirt paired with black high-waisted trousers and layered pearl accessories. Rohman, on the other hand, opted for a black deep-neck blazer, keeping his look edgy yet simple. With his hair tied in a bun and minimal styling, the model-turned-celebrity companion matched Sushmita’s sophisticated vibe.
Paparazzi moment goes viral as Rohman slides into frame
While Sushmita was busy chatting with people at the venue, the paparazzi playfully called out to Rohman, urging him to pose with her. Without hesitation, he stepped in and stood beside her with a cheeky smile, catching both the cameras and the crowd off guard. The spontaneous moment left the paparazzi in splits. However, Sushmita refused to pose with Rohman as the paparazzi kept insisting them to click a picture together.
Rohman Shawl on his bond with Sushmita Sen
This is not the first time Rohman has spoken about his post-breakup bond with Sushmita. In an earlier interview with Times of India, he clarified, “I only accompany her as a friend. I like spending time with her. If the relationship didn’t have issues and if you have given so much to a relationship, then why would you run away from it?”
Rohman also reflected on the professional impact of dating a high-profile celebrity like Sushmita Sen. “After my name was associated with hers, people thought I wouldn’t take up modelling assignments and would switch to acting instead. Log sochne lage ab yeh kyun modelling karega and I stopped getting offers,” he shared.

Sushmita Sen’s mushy picture with her ex-beau Rohman Shawl sparks patch-up rumours; fans say ‘They look so good together’

Still single, still hopeful: Rohman Shawl on love and future relationships
Currently single, Rohman joked that his past association with Sushmita has made others assume they’re still together. “Because a big name of that stature has been associated with me, people think that I am still with her. So, nobody even approaches me (laughs). I totally believe in love and relationships. In fact, I like being in relationships that drive me.”

While neither Sushmita nor Rohman has confirmed rekindling their romance, their visible comfort and frequent appearances together keep fans guessing.

Chahatt Khanna opens up about film contracts with ‘compromise clause’: ‘The South Indian industry is very open about it’

Chahatt Khanna opens up about film contracts with ‘compromise clause’: ‘The South Indian industry is very open about it’

Actress Chahatt Khanna recently shed light on the darker realities of the entertainment world. While she denied having any personal experiences with the casting couch, Chahatt did not shy away from speaking about the unsettling trends she has observed—particularly with regard to ambiguous or inappropriate clauses in film contracts.
During a recent conversation with Hauterrfly, Chahatt shared that actresses are often asked to ‘compromise’ in South Indian industries. She said, “Uss time par hota tha naa—‘Amaa, compromise, everywhere this happens in South.’ The South Indian industry is very open about it, but they are also respectful of women. The same thing happens here as well (in Bollywood). It’s just that they are not open about it; they don’t write it in contracts.” According to her, while the South Indian industry might be more direct in its approach, Bollywood tends to keep such matters off the record.

Chiranjeevi Shoves Fan Requesting Selfie at Airport

She further added that she has personally come across professionals who have gone so far as to explicitly state inappropriate expectations in work agreements. “Main toh aise logon se mili hoon jo contract mein likhwate hain ‘compromise’. (I’ve met people who actually include ‘compromise’ in the contract)—that you have to compromise with the director, producer, actor, and everybody except the spot boy. I have heard such stories, but no one has ever pounced on me.”
Chahatt began her television journey with Hero – Bhakti Hi Shakti Hai. However, her breakthrough came with the role of Ayesha in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, followed by another standout performance in ‘Qubool Hai’.
She was also part of films such as ‘Thank You’, featuring Akshay Kumar, and ‘7½ Phere: More Than a Wedding’, starring Irrfan Khan and Juhi Chawla. She played a role in ‘Prassthanam’, alongside Sanjay Dutt and Ali Fazal, and appeared in Yaatris, directed by Haarish Vyas.
