Not Easy Carrying Govinda’s Legacy

New Delhi:

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s son Yashvardan is set to make his debut in films soon. Yashvardan has already worked in films like Dishoom, Baaghi, and Kick 2 as an Assistant Director to have a first-hand experience of a film set.  Ahead of his debut, Sunita Ahuja shared that Yashvardan will carve his own path despite facing scrutinies.

Speaking to Times Now, Sunita said, “I have been praying to Mata Rani that Yash shall receive a lot of Yash (fame), and he shall make a mark of himself in the world. I’ve asked Mata Rani to always protect him, to keep him safe from negativity and the evil eye. He should be blessed with a lot of name, fame, and wealth. But above all, may he always be grounded and loved.”

Working on film set has made Yashvardan familiar with the world of showbiz. She said, “He has seen the process from the ground up. He’s not walking in blind.”

Talking about the pressure Yash faces to take Govinda’s legacy forward, she said, “It’s not easy carrying that legacy. People have expectations. But Yash is carving his own path and taking it one step at a time.”

Yash will make his acting debut in the National Award-winning director Sai Rajesh’s next. Sai Rajesh is known for critically acclaimed Telugu films like Colour Photo, Hrudaya Kaleyam, and Baby.

Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan will, reportedly, also star in the film.

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s marriage has been in headlines for a while as she claimed they lived “seprately.” Later, the actor’s lawyer confirmed that Sunita Ahuja filed for a divorce some time back but they are together now.

King, Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film with Pathaan-maker Siddharth Anand, has been in the news for a few months now, especially after the Bollywood superstar confirmed the collaboration in January. Now, the latest buzz is that Deepika Padukone, a frequent collaborator of Shah Rukh and Siddharth, has been roped in to play a major character in King.

This comes after reports suggested that King stars Shah Rukh’s daughter and actor Suhana Khan in the lead, facing off against Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist.

Interestingly, a recent report by Peepingmoon states that Deepika will play an extended cameo as Suhana’s character’s mother in a film that’s now billed as a revenge action thriller. The report further adds that King is said to be along the same lines of Bobby Deol, Karisma Kapoor’s 2000 film Bichhoo, with Shah Rukh playing an assassin who helps Suhana’s character seek vengeance.

In yet another intriguing claim, the report states that Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Tabu were considered for the roles of Suhana’s parents. Apparently, even Shah Rukh’s role in the film underwent a major transition after Siddharth took over direction duties from Sujoy Ghosh; the report claims that SRK was initially set to play an extended cameo, but that the project has now grown up to become a tentpole Shah Rukh Khan movie.

If reports about Deepika’s casting in the film are true, the upcoming film would mark her sixth collaboration with Shah Rukh after Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan and Jawan.

Jasleen Royal breaks silence on receiving backlash for Coldplay concert: 'I don't want people to think that she didn't deserve...'
Jasleen Royal faced criticism for her performance at the Coldplay concert in Mumbai. Technical issues marred her Day 1 act, leading to emotional stress. Despite support from her family and addressing the crowd on Day 2, she faced backlash from industry peers. Jasleen defended her efforts as a self-taught musician aiming to represent India proudly.

Jasleen Royal is a well-known playback singer in India, famous for her emotional songs like Heeriye, Ranjha, Din Shagna Da, and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. These songs became hugely popular and were played at almost every wedding across the country. However, when Jasleen performed these same songs at the big Coldplay concert in Mumbai, she received a lot of criticism. Not just from people online, but also from some in the music industry who questioned whether she was the right choice for such a big stage. After staying quiet about it for a long time, Jasleen has finally spoken about the backlash.
Dare To Dream: Jasleen’s Side of the Story
Jasleen recently released a mini-documentary titled Dare To Dream, giving fans a glimpse into her journey behind the scenes at the Coldplay concerts. While fans were thrilled when the global music band announced their India show, Jasleen’s opening performance on Day 1 in Mumbai faced harsh criticism online. What should have been a major achievement in her career turned into a tough experience, and the documentary revealed how deeply it affected her.Technical Issues and Emotional Stress
The mini-documentary also showed her Day 2 experience, revealing that her in-ear monitors had a technical glitch during her Day 1 performance. A team member acknowledged the issue and apologised. During the conversation, Jasleen got emotional as she spoke about the pressure she was under. She admitted feeling overwhelmed, saying it became too much to handle and that she was still trying to process everything.
Family Support and Facing the Crowd Again
In the mini-documentary, the singer was seen sharing an emotional moment with her parents, who hugged her and tried to lift her spirits before her second-day performance. The next scene showed Jasleen addressing the crowd, where she admitted feeling nervous but thanked fans for believing in her. She shared that she didn’t want people to think she was undeserving of the opportunity.

Jasleen explained that as a self-taught musician, she knows she isn’t perfect but works hard to improve every day. Her goal, she said, was to give the audience a memorable experience and make them feel proud that she represented India as the opening act.
Backlash from Industry Peers
Earlier, singer Antara Mitra posted a story on Instagram with Jasleen Royal’s photo from the concert, indirectly criticizing her performance. She hinted that the artist chosen should’ve been selected for their singing talent, not popularity or numbers. Around the same time, Vishal Dadlani shared a cryptic message that many felt was aimed at Jasleen. Though he didn’t name anyone, he wrote that a “basic-to-bad singer’s” act had been embarrassing for the country—this came soon after Jasleen was trolled online following her Heeriye performance at the concert.

Shreya Ghoshal Retrieves X Account Two Months After Hacking Incident: "I Am Back, All Is Well"

Shreya Ghoshal has finally regained control of her X (formerly Twitter) account after it was compromised nearly two months ago.

On Sunday, the singer informed her nearly 7 million followers that her account, which was hacked in February, is now back in her hands.

“I am back!! I will be talking and writing here often.. Yes, my X account has been in trouble as it got hacked in February. Now I have finally had the help from the @X team after a lot of struggles in establishing proper communication. All is well!! Now I am here,” she posted.

Known for iconic tracks like Bairi Piya, Yeh Ishq Haaye, Teri Ore, and Deewani Mastani, Shreya had been noticeably absent from the platform since the hacking incident.

In her comeback post, the singer also warned her fans about misleading advertisements featuring her name and AI-generated images.

“These are click baits, which lead to spam / fraudulent links. Please keep reporting these ads. I have no power in putting them down. I have tried my best,” she added, voicing her concern about the spam content circulating online.

She further called on the platform’s team to address the issue at its root.

“These are X ad regulations, which allow such ads to run. Hope they solve these matters soon.”

Back in March, Ghoshal had shared an update via Instagram, revealing the exact date her X account had been breached and detailing her ongoing attempts to resolve the matter.

“I have tried everything in my capacity to reach out to the X team. But there has been no response beyond a few auto generated responses…

“Please don’t click on any link or believe any message written from that account. They are all spams and fishing links. I will update personally through a video if the account is recovered and is safe,” she had mentioned in her post at the time.
