5 anime that left a lasting impact with just one season

There is a certain allure to anime that tells its tale in a single season, even in a medium where lengthy series frequently take center stage. Despite their brief running times, these programs are able to hold viewers’ attention with gripping stories, endearing characters, and powerful concepts. Whatever the cause of the brief existence, several of these anime only lasted one season but were nevertheless well-liked by viewers. Today, let’s examine five of those.

Best nuts and seeds to lower colorectal cancer risk

Best nuts and seeds to lower colorectal cancer risk

Colorectal cancer, also known as bowel cancer, is a type of cancer that develops in the colon or rectum. According to the American Cancer Society, it starts as a growth on the inner lining of either place, coming to be known as polyps. Over time, the cancer cells spread across the lining to the blood or lymph vessels, from where they can move to other parts of the body.
According to the website, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer type in both men and women in the United States, with an estimate of 107,320 new cases in 2025.
However, a recent study published in the National Library of Medicine analysed the role of nut and seed consumption in colorectal cancer. The results showcased the consumption of certain nuts and seeds can reduce the risk of colorectal cancer. Find out more about these miraculous nuts and seeds below!

Poll

Do you believe consuming nuts can help reduce the risk of colorectal cancer?

Walnuts

According to a recent study published in Cancer Prevention Research from the UConn School of Medicine, the ellagitannins and polyphenol compounds in walnuts can help reduce the risk of colorectal cancer. The study was carried out on 39 patients between the ages of 40 and 65, where the participants were asked to avoid all ellagitannin-containing food to bring down their urolithin levels to zero and then begin eating ellagitannin-rich walnuts. It was found that the high levels of urolithin had reduced levels of many proteins found in polyps- which lead to colorectal cancer.

Peanuts

The Nurses’ Healthy study analysed the risk of colorectal cancer in women in Taiwan to find out that the consumption of peanuts was associated with approximately a 58% reduction in the risk of colorectal cancer.

Hazelnuts are another popular choice when it comes to colorectal cancer prevention. The Oregon hazelnut and Turkish hazelnut in particular have great prowess in preventing the growth of cancer cells. The reason for this was attributed to the presence of antitoxin and phenolic compounds present in these nuts, mentioned in a study published in the National Library of Medicine.

Flaxseeds

When it comes to seeds, various healthy seeds such as flaxseeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds are effective in preventing colorectal cancer. The consumption of flaxseeds has been proven to reduce the risk and growth of colorectal cancer in humans and animals. Its major bioactive components such as fibre, alpha-linolenic acid, lignans and other phytochemicals show a decreased risk of colonic neoplasms and a regulation of cell growth, as proved in a study published in the National Library of Medicine.

As per a study published in the same medical library, the bioactive compounds found in sesame seeds, such as sesamin, sesaminol, sesamol, and sesamolin, play a vital role in manifesting anticancer activities and antiproliferation effect against the cancer cells found in the lining of the colon or rectum.

Who is Bobbi Althoff, and why are X users celebrating her downfall?

The world of social media is privy to the rise and fall of various influencers every day. While some go viral in a minute, others lose their career in the blink of an eye. However, in the case of influencer turned podcaster Bobbi Althoff, it is her failed attempt at going viral, which is keeping him in the news.
Recently, she is back in limelight for posting an Instagram story with her alleged boyfriend, announcing a new season of her podcast which will be released on May 15th. However, Althoff’s journey began with TikTok reels where she shared her life as a mom of two and her marriage with her husband. Her rise to fame was credited to her dry humour and witty personality. From 2021 to 2023, Althoff’s consistent lifestyle content on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube allowed her to gain a massive following of almost 3.5M.

In April 2023, Bobbi moved on from the lifestyle content to release an episode on her ‘The Really Good’ podcast with comedian Colleen Bellinger as a guest. The interview which was later taken down featured a whole lot of awkward conversations which were appreciated by fans as Bobbi’s dry humour.
While her second interview with content creator Funny Marco amassed a shocking 5 million views, it was her third interview which put her on the social media map. Althoff interviewed Drake in an unusual setting, on a bed, in an awkward interaction where she revealed that she had missed her daughter’s first birthday to interview the musician whose songs she had “never heard.” The interview garnered a whopping 10 million views, with Drake also commenting on Althoff’s “horrible parenting”
It was around this time that Bobbi’s husband, Cory Althoff, filed for a divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. However, her downfall began with her interview with rapper Offset, who replied to Bobbi in the same uninterested tone that she used in her podcast. The interview included her claiming that the artist’s team reached out to her for an interview, and him addressing that she was not found on any site except TikTok, not even Google.
Slowly and steadily, Bobbi’s following suffered with fans not wanting to see their favourite celebrities be insulted on various aspects, but the icing on the cake was when she cancelled a comedy tour with Funny Marco and launched a tour of her own. She was now being considered an industry plant due to her having the same managing company as Drake, with whom she was rumoured to have an affair. Additionally, her podcast was dwindling. She tried to start a vlog series, which included one vlog that gained more dislikes than likes and even had interviews with Forbes and WIRED to help save her failing career.
However, fans were no longer interested in Bobbi’s dry interviews and slowly her career declined to a place where she is only active on Instagram.

Ever since Bobbi’s failed attempt at being a podcaster who made people she interviewed awkward with her statement went viral, fans realised that her behaviour was not a fun technique but rather her personality. When asked about her interviewing technique, she told Forbes that it was “no research, just show up” and to WIRED, she shared that she was on a “lifelong journey to earn money”
People on X have been sharing clips from Althoff’s podcast interviews where she was roasted by big names; writing comments like, “Each interview I’ve seen of Bobbi Althoff has gotten increasingly worse and worse”, and “I ain’t seen a single clip of that Bobbi girl since Offset cooked her”
It seems that while users of social media are ready to give a chance to new content, they don’t need to keep its value if it doesn’t align with their sometimes-shown morals. Althoff’s journey is a gleaming mirror of the fact that while unique and rare personas go viral on social media, those who stay are the ones who are real.

5 desi ubtans to get rid of facial hair

Besan, or gram flour, is known for its cleansing properties and ability to stick to fine hair, while turmeric slows hair growth. Mix 2 tablespoons of besan with a pinch of turmeric and enough milk or rosewater to form a thick paste. Apply on your face, let it semi-dry and gently scrub off using circular motions. Repeat 3 times a week. Over time, this ubtan weakens hair roots, making the hair fall off naturally and gradually reducing regrowth.
