At 14, Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes youngest IPL player – Leaves Google CEO Sundar Pichai in awe: All about his humble family and extraordinary cricket journey
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named as an Impact Sub by Rajasthan Royals against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. He is the youngest debutant in the league’s history.

At just 14 years and 23 days old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has created history by becoming the youngest-ever cricketer to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). But behind his dazzling debut with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025, lies his extraordinary story of sacrifice, dreams, and grit which has brought him from Bihar’s fields to IPL glory.
Born on March 27, 2011, in the humble village of Tajpur in Bihar, Vaibhav didn’t grow up in the comforts most young athletes enjoy today. His father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi is a farmer with a deep love for cricket. It was his father who noticed Vaibhav’s hidden-talent in cricket at the tender age of eight, and he nurtured and supported it. To help Vaibhav make a career in cricket, his father Sanjeev Suryavanshi made an unimaginable sacrifice— by selling off his farmland to support Vaibhav’s dreams!
“Woh ab sirf humra bituwa nahi pura Bihar ka bituwa hai (He is not just my son now but entire Bihar’s son)…Not just investment, it’s big investment. Aapko kya bataye humne toh apna zameen tak bech diya. Abhi bhi halat pura sudhra nahi (I have sold my land. Financial issues are still there),” his father told PTI in an earlier interview, reflecting on the hardships they help Vaibhav become a professional cricketer.
Talking about his son Vaibhav’s training, Sanjeev further said, “My son has worked hard. At the age of 8 years, he excelled at U-16 district trials. I would take him for his cricket coaching to Samastipur and then take him back.”

Vaibhav Suryavanshi

From playing cricket at age eight to making his debut for Bihar in the Ranji Trophy against Mumbai at the age of 12, to outshining in Under-16 and Under-19 regional tournaments– Vaibhav’s rise as a professional cricketer is nothing but extraordinary! He soon caught national attention, smashing a 64-ball century for India U-19 against Australia and playing a key role in the U-19 Asia Cup.
Addressing concerns regarding Vaibhav’s age, his father added, “When he was 8 and half years old he first appeared for BCCI bone test. He has already played India U-19. We don’t fear anyone. He can again undergo age test.”
Over the months, Vaibhav’s achievements have only increased: In December 2024, he became the youngest-ever player to sign an IPL contract, bought by Rajasthan Royals for a whopping INR 1.10 crore. And on April 19, 2025, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old sensation from RR, made a memorable IPL debut against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He announced his arrival in style by smashing a six off the very first ball he faced, becoming only the 10th player in IPL history to achieve this feat. The historic moment unfolded at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium during the high-energy clash between RR and LSG.
Despite the fame and recognition, Vaibhav stays grounded. A Class 8 student, he balances studies and cricket with incredible maturity. Infact, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s exceptional talent and debut in IPL also caught Google CEO Sundar Pichai‘s attention. So much so that Pichai tweeted about it on April 20, saying, “Woke up to watch an 8th grader play in the IPL!!!! What a debut!”
When asked how their family is shielding Vaibhav from his newfound fame, wealth and the pressures of cricket, his father Sanjeev said in an earlier interview as reported by ET, “He just wants to play cricket and nothing else. A few years back, he loved Doremon, not anymore.”
Today, as Vaibhav Suryavanshi steps onto the IPL stage, he carries not just his family’s hopes, but the dreams of an entire generation who dare to believe that talent, backed by sacrifice and hard work, can conquer the world.

Cancer cure found? Researchers find THIS drug can cure the dreaded disease

Whoever thought doctors would suggest the consumption of a drug to cure a disease as serious as cancer? Now, according to a study published in Frontiers in Oncology, it seems that scientists have reached a consensus that medical cannabis can play a vital role in cancer care.
Ryan Castle, the lead author of the study and the research director at the Whole Health Oncology Institute, stated that the study intended to finally solidify the agreement of cannabis’ potential as a cancer treatment. “Our goal was to determine the scientific consensus on the topic of medical cannabis, a field that has long been dominated by a war between cherry-picked studies,” he said.
The study was funded by Cancer Playbook in cooperation with the Whole House Oncology Institute to collect, analyse and share data on patient-reported outcomes.

The study on cannabis and cancer

The study looked at more than 10,000 studies related to medical cannabis and cancer. This large-scale research surpasses the scale of any previous study in the field. To move beyond bias–conscious or not–it was essential to use a large-scale, radically inclusive methodology based on mathematical reasoning,” said Castle. “We wanted to analyse not just a handful, but nearly every major medical cannabis study to find the actual points of scientific agreement”, he added.
In order to analyse these studies, the team made use of an artificial intelligence natural language processing technique called “sentiment analysis”. The technique allowed the researchers to verify how many studies had positive, negative and neutral views.

The shocking results

Castle and his team hoped to find a “moderate consensus” and had expected the “best case scenario” to be around 55%, about the drug’s potential in cancer treatment.
“It wasn’t 55-45, it was 75-25,” he said. The study overwhelmingly supported the use of cannabis in treating cancer-related inflammation, appetite loss and nausea. Additionally, the surprising results also showcased that the drug could fight cancer cells themselves by killing them and stopping their spread.
“That’s a shocking degree of consensus in public health research, and certainly more than we were anticipating for a topic as controversial as medical cannabis,” said Castle.

How is cannabis used in medicine?

Cannabis is used in medicine in different forms. While dried flowers are inhaled, there are edible forms such as capsules and gummies and topical applications such as liquids, sprays, lotions or gels.

‘Travel’ on these mini trains

A lifetime pursuit

“Technical but interesting”. That is how K.R.S. Ganesan describes the model that he will be showcasing while takes this reporter on a virtual tour of his Ashok Nagar house to show what he is currently working on. The hall has been converted into a work station. The control system is in another room. Many other enabling items required to complete the exhibit are parked in other rooms.

The fully automated layout on a HO scale is being designed using TrainController software. “It is a totally hands free operation with automatic control. All scheduling and stops are set,” says Ganesan, a civil engineer. He explains visitors will be shown how a slow train is stopped at a loop line and then a fast train overtakes it.

Due to limited space, the train enthusiast will be arranging his exhibit in a 24×8 space at the venue.

Although fascinated with trains from a young age, it was just before retirement that he got started with the hobby. “I had eight engines and 200 feet track in 2013,” says Ganeshan, who retired as senior deputy general manager from L&T. Rolling stock like goods wagons and passenger coaches together added to more than 30 over the years.

“I am keen on designing operational layouts to show signals and time of start/stop functions and schedules using Train Controller software,” he says.

In 2018, he completed a large layout in a hall of 40 x 15 incorporating several operational features using this software. Model railroading is an activity of constant improvement and learning. “A hobby that can last a lifetime,” he adds.

An expensive hobby

For the first time, 72-year-old Sundaram Parthasarathi will be showcasing a running model of the Vande Bharat Express done to scale. An enthusiastic collector of train models, Sundaram is into this hobby for 35 years. Last year, he showcased the Chennai Metro Rail. A few years ago, Sterling Resorts commissioned a project, which he was on board; he partnered with another expert to design the Nilgiri Mountain Railway for one of their properties.

His railway exhibits are handmade. “I do not buy accessories such as signals and station buildings. I make them myself,” he says, adding that a few of the tracks are computerised.

His 20×10 feet, U-shaped room at his house in Abhiramapuram is his lab where he experiments with train scale models for hours.

During Navarathri, his train models are a showstopper. At other times of the year, he welcomes schools to take a look at the railway exhibits.

A mechanical engineer by profession, Sundaram warmed up to the hobby during a visit to The United Kingdom.

“The company sent me to the U.K. in 1986 and that is when I seriously started collecting train models. During weekends, I used to buy second hand items,” says Sundaram, who retired as special director from Ashok Leyland in 2013.

He agrees this is an “expensive hobby” but it is a special joy when you are in the company of 60 others (referring to the WhatsApp group with members spread across India and from a few other countries) exchanging notes on the finer aspects of this pursuit.

On the right track

Seventy-year-old C.B. Malhotra, known as Shyam in this hobby circle, is undecided what he will be showcasing in the upcoming exhibition.

Last year was the first time Shyam took part in the Heritage Train Model Exhibition organised by ICF, though he is into this hobby for two decades.

“That sparkle in the eyes of children when they see our trains running is more satisfying then collecting models or running them,” says the resident of George Town.

Shyam’s love for train models started during his childhood. His father had the habit of getting him a gift after the final examination. “I would ask for a train,” says Shyam.

Later, he saw a working model and the bug bit him. Shyam started the hobby in 1999 when he was in his 40s.

“When I got started on the hobby, I would go to second hand markets and that is where I came across a few people and that bond grew,” he says the hobby is addictive, often leading to spend continuous hours on it.

For parents trying to wean their children from gadgets, he offers wise counsel: “Make sure you provide your children with exposure to as many hobbies as possible,” says the businessman, adding that a childhood hobby could be good company and a small source of income as well.

Full steam ahead

The shrill whistle, the fuming boilers and the billowing plumes of steam. Never mind if you and your generation have not seen steam locomotive engines, Mahendra Kumar (who is from a generation that has) can recreate them for you.

“My dad used to take me to railway stations just for me to watch the engines and during one such outing, I got to see a steam engine,” recalls Mahendra, a HR manager.

His fascination for trains was further fuelled during annual visits to the Island Grounds where the trade fair was organised and Integral Coach Factory had a stall where they would showcase running train models.

Many years later in 2018, a trip to Darjeeling reignited this fascination. Since then, Mahendra has been collecting scale models. Today “HO” “Double O” and “G” scale models top his collection followed by a small number of “N” scale models.

At the exhibition, the Anna Nagar resident will be showcasing his collection of steam-based locomotives and train buses.

A member of HO Scale Collectors Group, the HR professional, who also has a collection of automobile models, says invitation to the group is only through reference.

Happy Easter Sunday 2025: Top 50 Wishes, Messages and Quotes to share with your family and friends

Easter Sunday, also known as Resurrection Sunday or Pascha, is one of the most revered days in the religion of Christianity. The festival is a religious celebration that serves as a symbol of renewal and hope, and brings people together in the name of Jesus.

When is Easter Sunday 2025?

In 2025, Easter Sunday will be celebrated on April 20th. Unlike Christmas, Easter is a movable holiday, which means its date of celebration keeps on changing every year. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon of the spring equinox. This means that Easter occurs every year between March 22 to April 25.
In 2025, the Paschal Full Moon appeared on April 13, thus placing Easter on the following Sunday, on April 20th, 2025.

Why is Easter celebrated?

Easter is one of the most important festivals in Christianity. The day commemorates the rebirth of Jesus Christ, which is believed to have occurred around 30-33 AD in Jerusalem. According to the Christian tradition, Jesus was crucified on Good Friday and rose from the dead three days later on what is now celebrated as Easter.
Easter was formalised as a celebratory day in 325 AD when the Council of Nicaea set guidelines determining the date of Easter and based it on the lunar calendar.
Easter also marks the last day of Lent, which is a period of fasting and moderation celebrated by Catholics and some Protestant denominations. It begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter Sunday.

Age-gap relationships: Why Andrew Tate is responsible for young women dating much older men

Age-gap relationships: Why Andrew Tate is responsible for young women dating much older men

If there’s one reel or video on social media that is bound to make you stop scrolling and actually see what’s happening is one where a couple is engaged in an age-gap or May-December relationship. Due to the age gap, appearances and camaraderie in general, these relationships catch a lot of eyeballs. But why are more and more younger women opting to date older men?
Well, as per the recent dating trends and hot goss on TikTok, it seems Gen Z women have warmed up to the idea of “age is just a number”
Quoting the finale of HBO’s popular series White Lotus, an 18-year-old Olivia told the New York Post how “I totally get why Chelsea was with Rick and chose him over Saxon. Rick was concerned with bigger things, and Chelsea believed they were soulmates. The age gap didn’t matter to her, and I totally get that!”

How Joe Rogan and Andrew Tate are causing age-gap relationships

Kate, 18, added her own opinion saying, “Saxon was just so basic… Rick might have been moody and a bit murder-y, but I bet he doesn’t listen to Joe Rogan — if he [Rick] was an actual person.”
Liza, 19, who is dating a person in his late twenties shared how people her age were always talking about Andrew Tate, “I’d go on the odd date with someone my age and more often than not it would end up in a straight-up argument when he started saying Andrew Tate makes good points.”
This is opposed to her boyfriend who is “super chill, a feminist.”
Joe Rogan and Andrew Tate are American podcasters known for their controversial views on current events that are not supported by many. Thus, it seems a likeness towards such media personalities is a huge turn-off for Gen Z women who are becoming more and more vocal about their yeses and nos.

Gen Z women are more outspoken and progressive when it comes to dating. With more Gen Z men choosing conservatism, they are unable to find like-minded men and thus are heading for the higher age group of men, who are not a part of the current manosphere.
According to the dating app Bumble, 63% of users reported they are comfortable dating outside their age group.

Social Media Reactions

Many on X noted how mentioning Andrew Tate on the first date already makes them a complete no, writing, “No man who has any experience with women is bringing up Andrew Tate on a first date LOL”
Others added that age-gap relationships are nothing new and that people have been dating older partners for years. “Women have preferred older men since the beginning of time. Social media has made it seem like it’s weird to have age-gap relationships, but this isn’t anything new.”

In Abu Dhabi encounter glossy sky scrapers, falcons and gold coffee, all in one day

Visiting Abu Dhabi for the first time, I was swept away by a feeling of camaraderie that went beyond borders. The Emirate of Peace is a modern-day salad bowl. Beyond the glossy skyscrapers, pristine roads and serene blue sea, it has an intertwined network of culture.

I experienced it through fortuitous acts of kindness — at the Corniche beach, Pakistani driver Faisal went out to his way to ensure that I taste Kashmiri nun chai, and Yaser Saeed Neyadi, Head of Public Engagement Unit at the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, attempts to make me feel at home by waxing eloquent on Malayalam cinema, and Jallikattu. Cinema is a universal language, but hearing about such a niche part of the medium from such an unexpected source is not surprising when one becomes familiar with cultural convergence that is Abu Dhabi.

While the rich heritage inherited from the nomadic Bani Yas forms the core lifestyle of the Emirate, it has opened its arms to the diversity brought in by immigrants from around the world, forming the perfect cultural confluence.

On one side of the Emirate is the Louvre, running in partnership with the French Louvre, which houses a breath-taking collection of exhibits. From works tracing the origin of human societies to masterpieces of contemporary art, the Louvre gives a sophisticated modern look to the Emirate. I stood just a few inches away from canvases painted upon by the likes of Vincent Van Gogh and sculptures carved by the likes of Auguste Rodin.

The handicraft festival coincided with my visit to the city of Al Ain, which is a three-hour drive from Corniche. I saw a celebration of the ways of the Emirati life with displays of Ayaala, which is a form of communal dance to celebrate victory in wars with songs of love, tasted traditional coffees, and experienced falconry too. These two sides of the Emirate highlight what it represents: embracing modernity, while keeping tradition alive.

I also visited the famous Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a grand spectacle of spirituality. From canoeing through the Jubail Mangrove Park at sunset to tasting the grandeur of the Emirate with a gold coffee at the Emirati Palace, each experience acquainted me with a different aspect of Abu Dhabi.

Cultures seem to converge on the dining table too. I try exquisite cuisine from across the world. There are Lebanese delicacies, such as kaftabatata (beef and potatoes) and eggplant fatteh (a type of salad) at Zali, a restaurant which describes itself as an ode to Beirut, its colours, culture and flavours. I also order authentic French beef bourguignon and poached pears at the Fouquet’s, a French fine-dining restaurant at the heart of the Louvre, which keeps in line with the Fouquet’s which opened on the Champs-Elysees in France in 1899. Then there is traditional Emirati cuisine, like margooga (a type of chicken stew) and luqaimat (a dessert similar to gulab jamun) at Erth, an authentic Emirati restaurant which explores the bounty of ingredients and storied culinary diversity of the Emirate.

Yas island, a symbol of human perseverance is a jewel in Abu Dhabi’s crown. Its theme parks, which attract visitors in hordes all year round, makes up a fraction of what it represents. The man-made island’s main attraction is its calm despite the crowd. I also had the chance to visit the Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World at Yas Island, and the fact that I could not find any ride with a wait time less than an hour, on a week day, demonstrates the crowd the parks attract. While Ferrari World offers an adrenaline rush for adventure enthusiasts with its roller coasters and vertical drops, Warner Bros. Museum has rides and activities with themes inspired by its movies and shows.

Ferrari World, which is designed to hold 10,000 visitors at a time, welcomes an average one-million visitors in a year with its unique adventure rides, Italian-themed eateries and shopping opportunities for Ferrari enthusiasts. Warner Bros. Museum, which is similar in grandeur and expects nearly 1.4 million visitors per year, gives an entirely different experience, with its uniquely crafted experiences that fans of DC comics and people who grew up watching Loony Tunes and Tom And Jerry, could get nostalgic with.

“Abu Dhabi is proving to be an increasingly popular destination for Indian travellers, both for leisure purposes as well as a thriving place to do business. Currently, India is the largest market for Etihad in terms of inbound passengers to the UAE. Abu Dhabi’s year-round sunshine, rich culture and heritage, and fantastic range of tourism activities make it a must-visit destination”, says Arik De, chief revenue and commercial officer at Etihad Airways, the national airlines of United Arab Emirates.

“In 2024, we expanded our network in India by adding three new destinations, meaning we now connect 11 Indian cities to destinations worldwide via our home in Abu Dhabi,” Arik adds. Etihad airlines now operates 181 flights per week to India, and Arik expects to carry nearly 3.5 million passengers from India to Abu Dhabi and beyond this year.

“The Abu Dhabi Stopover product is also fuelling this growth, as we’ve seen a 476% growth in guests choosing to add a complimentary one or two night stay at a premier hotel in Abu Dhabi as they journey with Etihad. This unique stopover programme encourages repeat visits, as guests get a taste for the amazing experience that Abu Dhabi has to offer,” Arik says.

Optical illusion personality test: A masked woman or a couple? What you see first reveals your secret weakness

Optical illusion personality test: A masked woman or a couple? What you see first reveals your secret weakness

There’s something special and truly beautiful about the way we connect with others– what draws us in, what keeps us engaged, and what tugs at our hearts, often without us even realizing it.
Love can be unexpected. It might begin with a glance, a smile, or even a quiet moment between two people. But behind those moments, there’s usually something deeper at play—a personal connection that makes us feel naturally drawn to someone. And interestingly, it often has little to do with what we think we’re looking for.
Today, with dating apps, instant texts, and instant likes, it’s tempting to believe attraction is all about appearance or first impressions. But a quick visual test may indicate otherwise. What you first see in a photo may say something more profound, such as the way you perceive love or relate to others on an emotional level.
Take a moment to look at the photo below. What’s the first thing you notice? Don’t overthink it– just trust your instincts! Your first reaction could say something important about your emotional side, the hidden patterns in how you love, or even struggles you might not realize you have.

Optical illusion image (Credits: YourTango)

Here’s what your initial impression can reveal about your emotional nature and hidden weaknesses in love:
If the masked woman caught your eye first
If the masked woman was the first thing you noticed, it means you’re likely attracted to the thrill of the unknown. You enjoy the early stages of a connection, when everything feels new, emotions are high, and there’s a sense of mystery. The excitement of not knowing what’s next keeps you intrigued. But while the start can be exciting, try not to overlook the deeper connection that comes with trust, comfort, and emotional closeness.
If you saw the couple first
If you saw the couple first, it means emotional security is really important to you. You’re not just after romance– you’re looking for someone you can truly build a future with. Loyalty, trust, and shared values matter more to you than quick sparks. You value steady and grounded relationships. While some people chase constant excitement, you understand that real love often grows in quiet and consistent moments. Just remember not to rush it. The strongest connections take time to grow.
If the empty boat stood out to you
If the empty boat caught your eye first, it could mean you see love as an adventure. You’re not drawn to routine, you’re more interested in discovery. Getting to really know someone, layer by layer, is what excites you. You’re not afraid to be vulnerable, and you don’t shy away from the ups and downs that come with love. But remember– love doesn’t always have to be intense or complicated. The quiet and simple moments can be just as meaningful.
If you focused on the man in the distance
If you saw the boatman first, you probably value peace and calm in your relationships. You might often feel overwhelmed by your thoughts or the world around you, so when love feels right, it brings a sense of comfort and balance. You’re drawn to people who make you feel understood– who just get you without needing long explanations. For you, love is about emotional connection. Just keep in mind: the support you look for in others also begins with how you connect with yourself.
What your first glance reveals
Attraction may seem sudden, but it’s not always random. The people we’re drawn to often reflect something we want or need, or something we’re ready to explore in ourselves. Whether you’re looking for passion, stability, adventure, or peace, understanding your emotions can help you make clearer choices in relationships. The more you know what you truly want, the easier it is to build something real.
Whatever caught your eye first– the masked woman, the couple, the boat, or the man– remember that optical illusions like this are just for fun and self-reflection. While they can give some insight into how you see love, don’t overthink it. These tests offer a glimpse into your emotional patterns, whether you’re more adventurous, secure, introspective, or grounded. But they’re just one small part of discovering who you are, so don’t put too much weight on them.
Note: This test is based on an optical illusion originally featured by YourTango.

7 smart ways to handle rude people gracefully

We’ve all had to deal with rude people– either at work, amid traffic, on social media, or even in our own families. Sometimes it can be just about passing comments, other times it’s nagging that might get on our nerves. While it’s tempting to snap back or shut down, that usually just feeds into the negativity. But there can be some calm yet smart ways to respond to such people, instead of reacting to them.
We might not be able to control how others act, but we can control how we respond. And that makes all the difference. Responding with maturity and emotional intelligence doesn’t mean you’re weak or letting someone walk all over you. It means you’re strong enough not to let their behaviour control your emotions or mood. It’s about choosing your response with intention and not out of frustration.

Here are 7 smart and practical ways to deal with rude people that will help you stay calm, confident, and in control even in difficult situations:

Hair Regrowth Oil: How to use Coconut Oil to regrow hair on a bald patch |

How to use Coconut Oil to regrow hair on a bald patch

Hair thinning and bald patches can feel frustrating and disheartening, whether caused by stress, hormonal changes, illness, or genetics. But nature offers gentle remedies and one of the most trusted ingredients in the world of holistic hair care is coconut oil. Rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and nutrients, coconut oil isn’t just a kitchen staple, it can be your go-to rescue remedy for hair loss.
Let’s tell you in detail how to use coconut oil effectively to stimulate hair regrowth on bald patches, what makes it work, and how you can supercharge its benefits with a few simple additions.

Why Coconut Oil?

Coconut oil is packed with lauric acid, which penetrates deep into the hair shaft, unlike most other oils that sit on the surface. Its antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties make it perfect for calming irritated scalps, clearing clogged follicles, and nurturing healthier hair growth.

istockphoto-511052092-612x612 (1)

Moreover, coconut oil boosts blood circulation, supports collagen production, and helps reduce protein loss from hair. All these factors play a key role in creating a healthy environment for new strands to grow on bald or thinning patches.

Step-by-step: Using Coconut Oil on a bald patch

Choose the right type of Coconut Oil
For best results, use cold-pressed, virgin coconut oil. Avoid refined or hydrogenated versions, as they are stripped of key nutrients. Look for organic options to ensure purity and potency.
Warm the oil slightly
Take 2–3 tablespoons (depending on the size of the bald patch) of coconut oil and warm it up slightly. Lukewarm oil penetrates the scalp more efficiently. Avoid overheating – you want it warm, not hot.
Section and apply
Part your hair to expose the bald patch clearly. Using your fingertips or a cotton ball, gently apply the oil directly to the area. Massage in circular motions for 5–10 minutes. This stimulates blood flow and opens the follicles for deeper absorption.
Hair growth-boosting additions to Coconut Oil
To enhance the regrowth process, consider mixing coconut oil with the following natural ingredients known for hair stimulation:
Castor Oil (for intense regrowth)
Rich in ricinoleic acid and omega-6 fatty acids, castor oil boosts circulation and strengthens roots.

Restore hair with Coconut Oil

Hair loss and bald patches can be distressing, but nature has provided us with several powerful remedies that can stimulate hair regrowth. One of the best natural ingredients for hair care is coconut oil, renowned for its deep nourishment, antibacterial properties, and ability to strengthen hair from the roots. When combined with the right ingredients, coconut oil becomes even more potent in promoting instant hair regrowth. If you’re struggling with thinning hair or bald patches, here are five powerful ingredients to mix with coconut oil for effective hair restoration.

Mix ratio: 1 tbsp castor oil + 2 tbsp coconut oil
Use: Apply 3 times a week for visible results within 6–8 weeks.
Peppermint or Rosemary Essential Oil (for scalp stimulation)
These essential oils are known to improve blood circulation and activate dormant follicles.
Add: 2–3 drops to your coconut oil before application
Warning: Always do a patch test for sensitivity.
Aloe Vera (for hydration and healing)
Aloe vera contains enzymes that can soothe the scalp and promote regrowth by reducing inflammation.
Mix: 1 tbsp aloe vera gel with 1 tbsp coconut oil
Use: Leave on for 30 minutes and rinse off.
The hot towel method
Once the oil is applied and massaged in, wrap your head in a warm towel for 15–20 minutes. The heat opens up the hair follicles and enhances oil absorption. This also helps detox the scalp and improve penetration of nutrients.

How often should you use Coconut Oil?

Mild thinning: 2–3 times a week
Severe hair loss or bald patches: Daily application or alternate days for at least 8–12 weeks
For best results, be consistent. Natural remedies take time, but regular application combined with massage can make a noticeable difference.

Rinsing and aftercare

After leaving the oil in for at least 1–2 hours (or overnight), use a mild, sulphate-free shampoo to wash it off. Avoid hot water and harsh chemical-laden products that can reverse your progress.
Once or twice a week, follow up with a DIY hair mask – like banana + coconut oil, or egg + yoghurt + coconut oil – to nourish and strengthen the new hair.

Lifestyle tips to boost results

While coconut oil can work wonders, hair regrowth is a holistic process. For faster results:
Eat protein-rich foods like eggs, lentils, nuts, and spinach.

Take biotin or zinc supplements after consulting your doctor.
Stay hydrated – water helps circulate nutrients.
Manage stress through yoga, meditation, or exercise – stress is a silent hair killer.
Avoid tight hairstyles that put tension on your scalp.

When to seek medical help

Coconut oil works well for mild to moderate hair loss, but if the bald patches persist or worsen despite consistent care, consult a dermatologist. Conditions like alopecia areata, fungal infections, or thyroid disorders may require medical intervention.
Nature takes its time, but it delivers – especially when used with patience and love. Coconut oil, when massaged regularly onto bald patches, doesn’t just nourish the roots; it revives them. Whether you’re dealing with a post-pregnancy hair fall, hormonal changes, or stress-induced shedding, this age-old remedy might just be your first step back to thicker, fuller locks.
So, grab that bottle, warm it up, and give your scalp a healing ritual it deserves.
