Vishnu Manchu’s much-awaited mythological epic Kannappa is finally gearing up for its release in theatres today (June 27), and the actor has addressed queries about the film’s OTT release following its theatrical run.During a recent pre-release event, Vishnu Manchu opened up about the film’s digital plans. He clarified that the film would not make an early jump to streaming platforms.Vishnu Manchu about Kannappa’s OTT release“I have a very large freedom; my movie will not come to OTT before 10 weeks. That is the deal I have, and by God’s grace, I don’t have any release pressure. My only intention is to showcase the best to the audience,” he stated.Kannappa cast and crewApart from Vishnu Manchu, the film boasts a star-studded line-up including Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, Siva Balaji, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, Raghu Babu, and Preity Mukhundhan.

Kannappa also features cameos by Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal. Prabhas steps into the role of Rudra, while Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal portray Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, respectively. Mohanlal appears as a tribal warrior named Kirata.Helmed by director Mukesh Kumar Singh, the story and screenplay have been penned by Vishnu Manchu himself. However, the WWE icon has revealed that Mami was not the initial name that she had suggested to the company. During the Insight Podcast, Ripley revealed that she had initially suggested the name Papi instead of Mami to the creative team. But, the recommendation got flatly rejected by the company.

Describing the situation, she said, “No, I was trying to push the Papi agenda. And they were like, ‘Yeah, we can’t do that.’ And then Priest was like, ‘What about Mami?’ I was like, Okay, guess I’ll be Mami. I was really set on the Papi thing. I was like, I can be a little s**t stirrer, just be Papi this, Papi that. But they’re like, we just can’t go there. And I was like, ‘Okay, I respect that.’ Mami’s gonna grow on me, though.”In addition, she has also revealed how she initially hated her husband, Buddy Matthews: “I used to hate him. I think he said this when he was (on Insight). I hated him. I hated him with a passion because I loved Sway, which was a female wrestler, and he was from Melbourne.
