Vivo X200 FE to Launch in India Soon With Purported Dimensity 9400e Chip, 6.31-inch OLED Display: Report

Vivo X200 FE could arrive in India in place of the Vivo X200 Pro Mini, which was unveiled in China in October 2024, alongside the base and Pro variants. The latter two were introduced in India last December. The Vivo X200 Pro Mini and X200 Ultra variants were previously tipped to come to the country. A recent report claims that the company may launch an FE variant in the country, in place of the X200 Pro Mini model, and that it could still be accompanied by the Vivo X200 Ultra.

Vivo X200 FE India Launch Timeline, Features (Expected)

Smartprix reports that the Vivo X200 FE is expected to launch in India in by the end of June, or the beginning of July. The handset is said to make its debut in the country instead of the Vivo X200 Pro Mini, which was previously tipped to debut alongside the Vivo X200 Ultra model.

The rumoured addition to the Vivo X200 series is expected to be powered by a Dimensity 9400e SoC, which is an unannounced chip, and might be a binned version of the Dimensity 9400 chipset. Notably, the Vivo X200 Pro Mini features a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC. In China, the handset is priced at CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 56,000) for the 12GB+256GB variant.

The Vivo X200 FE will reportedly feature a 6.31-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. For optics, it may carry a 50-megapixel main rear sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto shooter at the back. For selfies and video calls, it could get a 50-megapixel front camera sensor. It will likely support 90W fast charging, but the battery size is not yet known.

A Gizmochina report claims that the rumoured Vivo X200 FE will likely launch in China as the purported Vivo S30 Pro Mini, which is tipped to get a MediaTek Dimensity 9400e. The chipset has yet to be officially confirmed, and it will likely also be used in the purported OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition and an anticipated Realme smartphone.

Motorola Adds New Features to Moto AI; Teams Up With Google, Microsoft and Perplexity

Motorola announced major upgrades for Moto AI, the company’s in-house artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot. Announced on Thursday, the Lenovo-owned brand is adding four new AI features to Moto AI — Next Move, Playlist Studio, Image Studio and Look and Talk. Additionally, the company is also partnering with major AI players such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Perplexity to integrate their offerings into Moto AI. The integration also includes a free three-month trial of Perplexity Pro and Google One AI Premium subscriptions for eligible devices.

Moto AI Chatbot Remains in Beta Testing

In a newsroom post, Motorola said that it is expanding the use case of Moto AI, which was released as an open beta programme in December 2024 for select devices, as well as shipping it to more users. The chatbot still remains in beta. Moto AI is currently available on the latest generation of Razr and Edge devices.

The company claimed that thousands of users participated in testing Moto AI and its existing features — Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, and Remember this. However, it also received feedback that users wanted “more guidance on matching the right features with the right moments.” Based on the feedback, it is now refining existing features and adding new experiences.

Next Move is one of the new features eligible Moto AI users will see on their device. It will show users personalised recommendations based on the content on their screen. The company says the AI feature will suggest next step suggestions for them to explore and help them learn more about what AI can do for them, and adapt to it.

Playlist Studio, another new introduction, uses on-screen content or a user prompt inside the Moto AI app to curate a playlist for users. The company says users can ask the chatbot to make the playlist highly specific. For instance, users can ask Moto AI to create a “Pizza night Y2K jams” playlist and get a list of curated songs.

Moto AI is also adding a new Image Studio feature. It is a text-to-image generator that can create images, avatars, stickers, and wallpapers. Moto AI will also let users share visual content with messaging apps and social media.

Look and Talk is currently only available to the Moto Razr 60 Ultra (Razr Ultra in the US). Even when the foldable smartphone is in stand or tent mode, users can look at the screen and get immediate assistance from Moto AI. Users can also communicate with the chatbot via voice and receive verbal responses.

Motorola Announces Partnerships With AI Players

Motorola is partnering with Google to integrate Gemini and Gemini Live into its devices. Razr series smartphones will also let users access the chatbot from the external display. Apart from this, the company is offering a three-month trial of the Google One AI Premium plan, which includes access to Gemini Advanced, Gemini in Workspace platforms, and 2TB of cloud storage.

The free subscription will be offered to those who purchase one of the eligible devices. These include the Motorola Razr 60 series, Razr 50 series, Razr 40, Edge 60 series, and Edge 50 series.

The company is also partnering with Meta to make its Smart Connect app available on the Meta Horizon Store. This allows Meta Quest users to check their messages, favourite apps, and more right from the mixed reality headset.

Microsoft’s Copilot is also being integrated with the Motorola Razr Ultra and the Edge 60 Pro. With this, users can access the Copilot chatbot directly via Moto AI.

Finally, the Lenovo-owned company is also integrating Perplexity’s AI search engine within Moto AI. When users make web search-based queries, the chatbot will show the “Explore with Perplexity” option. If they select it, the company’s AI search will generate a comprehensive response.

In addition, all Motorola devices launched after March 3 will offer a three-month trial of the Perplexity Pro subscription. This offer will only be available to new Perplexity Pro subscribers.

FIU-IND Reportedly Sets June 30 Deadline for Crypto Exchanges to Redo KYC Verification

The Financial Intelligence Unit of India (FIU-IND) has reportedly instructed all crypto exchanges to verify the know your customer (KYC) data collected from users based in India, by the end of June. The KYC details that are older than 18 months will need to be refreshed by all operational exchanges. Mudrex and Pi42 confirmed the development to Gadgets 360 on Friday. The aim of this step is to maintain accurate details of crypto holders, while also identifying the flouters of the national crypto tax laws.

The FIU has observed that many crypto users as well as exchanges are neglecting the one percent TDS deduction law on crypto transactions, The Economic Times reported, citing anonymous sources. The agency now plans to tighten its oversight over crypto activities.

Bharat Web3 Association (BWA), which is an independent crypto advisory body based in New Delhi, said this directive underscores India’s push for regulatory accountability in the Virtual Digital Assets (VDA) space.

“The FIU-IND has directed all registered VDA exchanges to enhance KYC compliance by June 30, 2025, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). This includes updating user data, re-verifying accounts older than 18 months,” the BWA posted on LinkedIn. “BWA supports this effort as a vital step toward fostering a transparent, secure, and regulation-aligned VDA ecosystem in India—one that builds long-term credibility.”

“All crypto exchanges operating in India are required to conduct periodic re-KYC and report TDS to the government.” Mudrex CEO Edul Patel told Gadgets 360. He also noted that crypto exchanges should take it upon themselves to ensure that their users are aware about tax obligations, helping them make informed decisions and stay on the right side of the law.

Earlier this week, Binance started informing its India users about the re-verification process through an email. The exchange has told its users to submit their PAN or (Permanent Account Number), which is a 10-digit identification number assigned to all taxpayers in India.

Sudhakar Lakshmanaraja, founder of Web3-focussed organisation, Digital South said that this step brings India in alignment with the global regulatory approach to crypto.

“Such proactive steps build greater confidence among stakeholders and reflect India’s intent to responsibly embrace the digital asset space,” Lakshmanaraja noted.
The government has yet to introduce comprehensive crypto legislation to govern the sector. Earlier in February this year, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said that the government is working on its discussion paper that would clarify India’s stance on the crypto industry.

Airtel International Roaming Plan With Access to Data in India and 189 Countries Launched

Airtel has launched a new international roaming (IR) recharge plan to its portfolio. The new roaming plan is priced at Rs. 4,000 ,and it provides 5GB data access in 189 countries. The latest plan, which is designed to aid people who travel to multiple destinations frequently, can be used both in India and overseas. In India, it offers benefits like 1.5GB of data per day, 100 voice minutes and in-flight connectivity. Airtel users will be able to manage the plan via the Thanks app. It comes with an auto-renewal feature for frequent travellers.

On Friday, Airtel announced that the new Rs. 4,000 IR plan has a validity of one year. It offers 5GB of data and 100 voice calling minutes for international use. While in India, customers will be able to use the same plan to access 1.5GB of data per day along with unlimited call benefits.

The carrier has positioned its roaming plan as an alternative to eSIM and travel SIMs provided at airports, which require identity proof documents. However, it’s worth noting that many of these travel SIMs offer a considerably larger data allowance than Airtel’s 5GB plan.

Airtel says that an auto-renewal feature will also be rolled out for frequent travellers, to eliminate the need to buy an IR pack multiple times. The telecom company confirmed that customers can manage their usage and billing activity on the Airtel Thanks app.

The new Rs. 4,000 IR plan by Airtel offers data access in 189 countries. Further, it offers 250MB of in-flight connectivity that allows passengers to make calls, send messages, and access the Internet on select airlines. The new plan offers access to 24×7 call centres for support.

Earlier this month, Airtel introduced a Rs. 451 prepaid recharge plan with 50GB of data and 30 days validity of 30 days. This plan offers a complimentary subscription to JioHotstar for a period of 90 days.

Apple Aims to Build Most iPhones for US in India by End of 2026

Apple is seeking to import most of the iPhones it sells in the US from India by the end of next year, accelerating a shift beyond China to mitigate risks related to tariffs and geopolitical tensions.

The goal means Apple would roughly double its annual iPhone output in India to more than 80 million units, people familiar with the matter said, asking not to be identified discussing internal plans. Apple assembled just over 40 million iPhones in India in the fiscal year through March 2025. It sells more than 60 million iPhones a year in the US.

The plans are the latest sign of Apple and its suppliers accelerating a pivot away from China, a process that began when harsh Covid lockdowns hurt production at its largest plant. Tariffs introduced by US President Donald Trump as well as Beijing-Washington tensions are prompting Apple to amplify that effort.

Apple representatives in India didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. The Financial Times reported earlier Apple’s goal was to source all its US-sold iPhones from India by the end of 2026. Bloomberg News previously reported Apple’s plan to increasingly prioritize iPhones from the India supply chain for its US customers.

The Cupertino, California-based company assembled $22 billion (roughly Rs.1,87,886 crore) worth of iPhones in India in the 12 months ended March, increasing production by nearly 60 percent over the previous year, Bloomberg reported this month. Apple now makes 20 percent, or one in five, of iPhones in the South Asian country, while China remains its biggest production base by far.

The bulk of India-made iPhones are assembled at Foxconn Technology Group’s factory in southern India. Tata Group’s electronics manufacturing arm, which bought Wistron Corp.’s local business and runs Pegatron Corp.’s operations in India, is also a key supplier. Tata and Foxconn are also building new plants and adding production capacity in southern India, Bloomberg News has reported previously.

Of the total India production, Apple exported 1.5 trillion rupees ($17.5 billion) in iPhones from the region in the fiscal year through March 2025, the nation’s technology minister said on April 8.

Shipments of iPhones from India to the US accelerated after Trump announced his plans for the so-called “reciprocal” tariffs in February. Apple’s average India production and exports surged all through the fiscal year to March.

The Trump administration earlier this month exempted electronics goods including smartphones and computers from its reciprocal tariffs. That’s good news for companies such as Apple, though the reprieve doesn’t appear to extend to Trump’s separate 20 percent duty on China, applied to pressure Beijing to crack down on fentanyl.

This also means iPhones made in India won’t attract any duties as of now. Barring the exceptions made April 11, Trump’s cumulative levies on China remain at 145 percent, and will likely force companies such as Apple to intensify their supply chain shift.

Apple now assembles its entire iPhone range in India, including the more expensive titanium Pro models. Its manufacturing success in the world’s most populous nation is also helped by state subsidies tied to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambition to turn the country into a manufacturing hub.

US Bank Regulators Pull Back Guardrails on Bank Crypto Activities

US banking regulators announced on Thursday they were pulling back several documents that urge banks to show caution when dabbling in cryptocurrency and related activities.

The Federal Reserve said it was withdrawing a pair of supervisory letters stipulating that banks should seek advance approval from regulators before engaging in crypto-asset and stablecoin activities.

In addition, the Fed joined the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in withdrawing a pair of 2023 statements urging banks to be vigilant around crypto-related risks.

Under the prior guidance, regulators warned banks to be wary of volatility, legal uncertainty and liquidity risks when considering whether to provide crypto-related services or take on crypto companies as clients.

Scrapping that guidance marks the latest move by the Trump administration to strike a more crypto-friendly stance. In its statement announcing the changes, the Fed said regulators would be looking into whether new guidance to “support innovation, including crypto-asset activities, is appropriate.”

In March, the OCC was the first US regulator to move to make it easier for banks to engage in crypto activities, similarly moving to scrap guidance adopted under the previous administration urging banks to be cautious in the space.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Alleged Price Leaks; Might Cost More Than the Samsung Galaxy S25+

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is tipped to launch in May as the latest addition to the flagship Galaxy S25 lineup that was unveiled in January. Ahead of its anticipated introduction, the South Korean technology conglomerate is said to have accidentally leaked the price of the upcoming handset in Canada. As per a report, it appeared under the terms and conditions of discounts offered on the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series, which hints towards the Galaxy S25 Edge potentially being more expensive than the Galaxy S25+.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Price (Expected)

Winfuture.de’s Roland Quandt posted screenshots of the alleged Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge listing on the decentralised microblogging platform Bluesky. It was included in the list of devices which users can trade in to get a 20 percent discount on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE series tablets. The phone is said to be available in two storage options — 256GB and 512GB.

The Galaxy S25 Edge with 256GB of storage (SM-S937WZKAXAC) may be priced at CAD 1,678.99 (roughly Rs. 1,03,000). Meanwhile, the 512GB variant of the handset (SM-S937WZKEXAC) is said to cost CAD 1,848.99 (roughly Rs. 1,14,000).

The pricing suggests that the phone will sit between the Galaxy S25+, which costs CAD 1,438.99 (roughly Rs. 88,500) and the top-of-the-line Galaxy S25 Ultra, priced at CAD 1,918.99 (roughly Rs. 1,18,000).

The Galaxy S25 Edge listing also sheds light on the possible colour options. As per the details, it may be offered in Titanium Silver and Titanium Jet Black colourways. Interestingly, the nomenclature of the colour options indicates that the handset may come with a titanium build, similar to other models in the Galaxy S25 series.

While official details remain under wraps, previous reports indicate that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge could initially see a limited launch. It is speculated to debut first in China and South Korea on May 23, with its introduction in the US and other global markets happening on May 30.
