CMF Phone 2 Pro is all set to go official on April 28. Just days ahead of the formal reveal, the company has confirmed the chipset of the phone. The CMF Phone 2 Pro will run on a MediaTek chipset similar to last year’s CMF Phone 1. It is said to deliver faster CPU and graphics performance compared to its predecessor. The CMF Phone 2 Pro will be launched alongside the CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2a, and CMF Buds 2 Plus earphones. The phone will go on sale through Flipkart.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Will Run on MediaTek’s Chipset

Nothing’s sub-brand CMF on Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter) confirmed that CMF Phone 2 Pro is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro SoC. The existing CMF Phone 1 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. The upcoming handset is claimed to provide a maximum 10 percent faster CPU and up to five percent graphics improvement over last year’s CMF Phone 1. The chip uses MediaTek’s sixth-generation NPU that will offer 4.8 TOPS AI performance.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro is advertised to offer 120fps (frames per second) for BGMI gaming, 1,000Hz touch sampling rate and 53 percent network boost. It is teased to have a thin and lightweight design.

CMF Phone 2 Pro will launch on April 28 along with CMF Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus earphones. The phone is expected to retain the design language of its predecessor. Nothing co-founder and India President Akis Evangelidis recently revealed that the phone will ship with a charger in the box.

The CMF Phone 1 was launched in July last year with a starting price tag of Rs. 15,999 for the base 6GB + 128GB RAM and storage model. It has a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED LTPS display with up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It came with up to 8GB of RAM and a maximum 128GB of onboard storage. It has a dual rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel primary Sony sensor, and a portrait camera. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging and 5W reverse wired charging.

Polygon Labs plans to concentrate on preparing for a rising and anticipated boom in the stablecoin market. In conversation with Gadgets 360, Polygon founder Sandeep Nailwal said that the institutional interest in stablecoins has risen significantly, and industry players have started to prepare to cater to the demands around stablecoin custody and services. Polygon is a popular layer-2 scaling solution supported on Ethereum, offering low transaction costs and interoperability among other features. In the future, the platform plans to improve its efficiency, especially related to stablecoins.

Stablecoins are crypto assets that derive their value from an underlaying asset – like gold or a fiat currency. Stablecoins like Tether (USDT) and Circle (USDC) are also usually less prone to market volatility because they are pegged to stable, reserved assets. Standard Chartered estimates that the stablecoin market will grow tenfold to $2 trillion (roughly Rs. 1,71,29,800 crore) within the next three years.

Nailwal said that Polygon is aiming at becoming the go-to provider for stablecoin payments and transactions in the future. Explaining why stablecoins are garnering institutional attention, he stated that stablecoins make the bridge that connects the worlds of crypto finance and traditional finance.

“The stablecoin supply on Polygon’s proof-of-stake chain increased 14 percent in the fourth quarter to surpass $2 billion (roughly Rs. 17,100 crore), making it the leading EVM chain with nearly 30 percent of all app action transactions. To aid in broader adoption, Polygon launched 1Money, a layer-1 payments network that supports multi-currency transactions,” Nailwal noted.

A recent report by a16z crypto claimed that stablecoins can increase the speed of transaction processing and bring more transparency to records, due to the blockchain element.

“Instead of stitching together clunky, costly, and outdated systems, stablecoins flow seamlessly on top of global blockchains. These systems are programmable, composable, and designed to scale across borders,” the firm said in its report. “Clear rules of the road for stablecoins and crypto market structure could finally allow these technologies to move out of the sandbox and toward widespread adoption.”

Many countries are now working on diving deeper into stablecoin exploration. In the US, the Stablecoin Regulation Bill is close to receiving approval from the US House Committee. Singapore and the UK have regulations in place that govern the use of stablecoins.

In the coming months, Nailwal says that the blockchain firm will add support for yield-bearing stablecoins that combine the stability of traditional collateralisation with DeFi yield.

Nailwal weighed in on the ongoing stablecoin frenzy. “There is tremendous revenue potential with stablecoins, with institutions looking closely at the proven profitability demonstrated by established players like Tether and wanting to take advantage of the opportunity to provide better payment rails for their users, especially for remittances, while avoiding traditional fee structures,” he said.

Vivo X200 Ultra will be introduced in China on April 21, along with the Vivo X200s. Just days ahead of the formal reveal, Vivo has posted multiple teasers on Weibo revealing the phone’s camera capabilities. The Vivo X200 Ultra will use Sony’s LYT-818 sensor for its primary and ultra wide angle cameras. It will also support a Photography Kit accessory. The Vivo X200 Ultra is confirmed to ship with a 2K OLED display and a 6,000mAh battery. It will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

The Chinese smartphone brand has dropped new teasers on Weibo detailing the camera unit of the Vivo X200 Ultra. The upcoming handset will feature a Zeiss-branded camera setup comprising a 14mm ultra wide angle sensor, a 35mm primary camera and an 85mm Zeiss APO lens. The 14mm ultra-wide angle sensor and 35mm main camera use the same 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-818 sensor. The cameras will also have optical image stabilisation (OIS) support.

The 85mm telephoto sensor of Vivo X200 Ultra is said to be 38 percent more light sensitive than the one found on the Vivo X100 Ultra. The camera unit, along with Vivo V3+ and VS1 imaging chips, is said to deliver impressive performance. The dedicated VS1 AI image signal processor (ISP) is claimed to provide 80 (trillion operations per second) of computing power. 

Vivo has posted multiple camera samples on the microblogging platform, showcasing the camera advancements of each sensor. The phone is capable of recording 4K videos at 120fps and 4K 60fps with 10-bit log. It features DCG HDR, and the camera unit offers several AI-based features. The handset will ship with an optional Photography Kit.

Vivo X200 Ultra Specifications

The Vivo X200 Ultra has been already teased to boast a 2K OLED Zeiss branded display with Armour glass protection. It will pack a 6,000mAh battery with support for 40W wireless and 90W wired charging. The phone will measure 8.69mm in thickness and includes an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor for biometrics. It is confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

Vivo X200 Ultra is scheduled to launch in China on April 21 at 7pm local time (4:30pm IST). It will be unveiled alongside the Vivo X200s, Vivo Pad 5 Pro, Vivo Pad SE, and Vivo Watch 5.

HP Omen Max 16 was launched in India on Wednesday, and the company’s latest gaming laptop is equipped with a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, paired with up to 32GB of RAM.
