CMF Phone 2 — the anticipated successor to last year’s novel CMF Phone 1 handset — could be launched soon with some design changes. The Nothing subsidiary recently began teasing the arrival of its second generation handset, and it has now revealed what appears to be the rear panel of the CMF Phone 2. The handset could arrive with a new matte finish, according to the latest teaser. Previous reports suggest that the CMF Phone 2 will be equipped with a triple rear camera setup.

CMF Phone 2 Design (Expected)

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the smartphone brand revealed a portion of the rear panel on the purported CMF Phone 2. A brief video shows the handset with plastic edges and a screw that holds the redesigned rear panel in place. The movement of the handset reveals a glossy, rear panel with a matte finish.

The post doesn’t reveal the material of the rear panel, which could be made of plastic or aluminium. The current generation model is equipped with a polycarbonate rear panel (or vegan leather for the blue colourway). The teaser also shows the CMF by Nothing logo on the bottom left side that appears light or dark when held at different angles.

A recent leak suggests that the CMF Phone 2 will be equipped with a triple rear camera setup, which could be a step up from the 50-megapixel primary and portrait sensor on the Phone 1. The image of the entire rear panel was revealed in the leaked image, and the left section appears to match the one on the phone seen on CMF’s teaser.

Another important feature seen on the CMF Phone 2 is the Accessory Point system, which enabled the use of accessories like a phone stand, a card case, or a lanyard. The leaked indicates that the CMF Phone 2 will also offer support for these accessories.

The upcoming smartphone is expected to arrive with incremental hardware upgrades over the first generation CMF Phone 1. That handset sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and features a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip. It also packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W charging.

Several smartphones are expected to make their debut in India this month, ahead of the upcoming summer holiday season. From budget handsets to high-end smartphones, these handsets are aimed at a range of buyers. The Realme Narzo 80x is set to launch in the coming days as a budget smartphone with a 6,000mAh battery, while the Vivo V50e will be a camera focussed smartphone with a curved display. Gamers on a budget can look forward to the upcoming iQOO Z10x, which is also set to launch in India soon.

All the smartphones that are scheduled to launch in the coming days are equipped with large batteries or sport 120Hz displays. These handsets will be available to purchase via Amazon, and the e-commerce platform has already begun teasing specifications and other features via dedicated microsites.

It’s also worth noting that Acer is also expected to launch new smartphone models in India in the coming days or weeks. However, there’s no word from the company (or Amazon) on when we can expect these phones to arrive, or any other details related to their specifications or features.

Realme Narzo 80x Launch

When: April 9

Key feature: 6,000mAh battery

This upcoming smartphhone will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 chip and it sports a 120Hz display. It packs a large 6,000mAh battery, which is claimed to offer two days of battery life on a single charge. It offers 45W fast charging support, and Realme says the handset has a thickness of 7.94mm, and weighs 197g.

According to the smartphone maker, the Narzo 80x has an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. It also has an unspecified military grade shock resistance certification. Realme has also touted its signal adjustment features that are said to optimise network performance while playing games.

Realme Narzo 80 Pro Launch

When: April 9

Key feature: Dimensity 7400 chipset

Equipped with a 4nm Dimensity 7400 chip that was launched by MediaTek earlier this year, the upcoming Reame Narzo 80 Pro will soon be one of the most capable smartphones available under the Rs. 20,000 mark in India. It features a 120Hz display with up to 4,500nits peak brightness and is claimed to offer support for playing BGMI at 90fps.

Like the Realme Narzo 80x, this upcoming smartphone also packs a 6,000mAh battery. Charging is considerably faster at 80W, and the handset also offers bypass charging support. The handset measures 7.55mm in terms of thickness, and it weighs 179g.

Vivo V50e Launch

When: April 10

Key feature: Sony IMX882 sensor

The next entry in Vivo’s V series of smartphones is the upcoming Vivo V50e, and this handset will sport a dual rear camera setup that comprises a primary camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor, and an unspeciffied ultrawide camera. It also features a 50-megapixel selfie camera.

Like the company’s other handsets, the Vivo V50e has an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, and it also supports an underwater photography mode. It sports a quad curved display and the company has touted the AI features available on the smartphone.

iQOO Z10 Launch

When: April 11

Key feature: 7,300mAh battery

If you’re someone who is worried about battery life on your smartphone, then you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming iQOO Z10, which will feature a massive 7,300mAh battery with 90W FlashCharge support. The company has also touted the slimness (7.89mm) and weight (199g) of the handset.

The upcoming iQOO Z10 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, along with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It will also sport a quad curved AMOLED screen, which is claimed to deliver a peak brightness of 5,000nits.

iQOO Z10x Launch

When: April 11

Key feature: Dimensity 7300 chipset

Arriving on the same day as the iQOO Z10, the upcoming iQOO 10x features a 4nm Dimensity 7300 chipset. It is expected to feature 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but is likely to be available in other variants.

This smartphone is equipped with a smaller 6,500mAh battery, and the teaser images for the handset hint at a dual rear camera setup. The other specifications of the upcoming iQOO Z10x are still under wraps, but the handset is expected to debut under the Rs. 15,000 mark in India.

April brings a host of major game releases across platforms, from remastered PlayStation titles to Xbox exclusives. The Last of Us Part II Remastered makes its way to PC this month, bringing upgraded visuals, PC-specific features, and bonus content that includes the Roguelite “No Return” mode. The Last of Us Part 2 launched on the PS4 in 2020 and was remastered for the PS5 in 2024. The PC release of the remastered version comes weeks before the second season of The Last of Us TV series premieres on Max.

A couple of major Xbox and PC exclusives arrive on PS5 this month, as well. First up is MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which launched on Xbox Series S/X and PC in December 2024. The globe-trotting action-adventure title is coming to PS5 on April 17. Played from the first-person perspective, Indiana Jones brings treasure hunting, exploration, and whip-cracking combat to the table. Towards the end of the month, a bona-fide Xbox masterpiece launches on PS5. Forza Horizon 5, the acclaimed open-world arcade racer, arrives on Sony’s console over three years after it launched on PC and Xbox platforms.

Xbox and PC exclusive South of Midnight releases this month, as well. The gothic adventure from Compulsion Games features a distinct art style, melee combat, and an evocative setting. There are a few more remasters, a brand-new turn-based RPG, and several other notable titles launching in April. Here’s a closer look at some of the biggest games coming out this month on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered

One year after its PS5 release, The Last of US Part II Remastered is finally coming to PC gamers. This overhauled version of the game offers several nice perks, including a new roguelike mode, developer commentary, and lost levels, and you get to play out the concluding arc of the deeply emotional journey of Joel Miller as well. If you’re among those who have never played the game before, expect shocking and traumatising plot twists and a narrative-driven adventure, a trademark of developer Naughty Dog.

Coming to visual enhancements in this version, the remastered version is optimised for Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution and AMD FSR 3.1 and FSR 4 support. PC gamers will also get new control customisation options such as full control remapping, full gamepad support as well as support for complete haptics via PS5’s DualSense controllers. Technicalities aside, the game also includes new content for the No Return mode, including two familiar faces from the first game — Bill and Marlene. Four new maps, Overlook, School, Street, and Nest, have also been added to the roguelike survival mode and will offer gamers a chance to test their skills as they navigate the terrain with their favourite character.

South of Midnight

Where: Xbox Series S/X, PC

Developer Compulsion Games is bringing South of Midnight, an action-adventure game set in a Southern Gothic world or a fictionalised American Deep South with hints of mythology, magic realism and folklore. As Hazel, the protagonist who becomes a Weaver, you will explore Prospero’s rural, lush yet decayed landscapes. With the power of ancient magic, you will fight fierce Haints, and overpower supernatural creatures like Two-Toed Tom, Huggin’ Molly, Rougarou, Altamaha-ha, Honey Island Swamp Monster and more. Alongside learning about the history and legacy, you will discover many family secrets and undertake a journey to look for your missing mother.

The playthrough lasts between 10 to 12 hours and you can engage with four different difficulties, including Scryer, Healer, Weaver and Grand Weaver, as well as a fifth customisable difficulty option, the Grand Tapestry. You will be able to toggle on and off the stop-motion animation effect for gameplay. The game offers a storybook presentation, and its music includes instrumentals and vocals inspired by the essence of dark folktale.

This single-player game will come to Xbox Series S/X and PC via Steam on April 8.

The Talos Principle: Reawakened

When: April 10

Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X

The Talos Principle: Reawakened is a first-person puzzle game developed by Croteam and published by Devolver Digital. This is a definitive edition of The Talos Principle and integrates new content and improved gameplay in the expanded journey.

Fans of the game will be thrilled to meet Alexandra Drennan, the leader of the Talos project, who tackles deep existential questions while setting up the Simulation’s first critical test In a new chapter, In the Beginning. This compels you to think earnestly about the human condition as well as you advance. You will also be able to revisit the classic Road to Gehenna expansion. With this redesigned version, the familiar Simulation is more detailed and immersive with improved lighting, textures, and environmental design.

The Talos Principle: Reawakened is scheduled for release on April 10 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X platforms.

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage – Tape 2

When: April 15

Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage, Don’t Nod’s coming-of-age narrative adventure, is launching in two parts. The first part — Tape 1 — released in February; the second part — Tape 2 — is launching later this month. Lost Records marks Don’t Nod’s return to story driven adventures. The game, set in the 1990s, follows the lives of four teenaged girls: Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat, who form bonds of friendship in an idyllic summer in Velvet Cove. The girls also stumble onto a secret that changes the course of their lives.

Twenty-seven years later, the friends, now adults, reunite in Velvet Cove to confront their past and find closure. As with Don’t Nod games, Lost Records features a beautiful soundtrack, layered characters and an evocative story brimming with 90s nostalgia. A major chunk of the game is also seen through Swann’s camcorder, which the player controls. As Swann, you can take out your camcorder and capture interesting subjects in the environment, edit clips, and package them into mini “memoirs”.

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage – Tape 2 was supposed to come out a month after Tape 1, but was delayed to April. The game now arrives on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X on April 15.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

When: April 17

Where: PS5

Get set for an adventure that you’re unlikely to forget with Bethesda’s Indiana Jones and the Great Circle finally releasing on the PS5. Step into the shoes of the legendary archaeologist and unravel the mysteries of the Great Circle—an ancient power hidden across the world. You’ll travel from Marshall Hall to various locations like the Vatican City, China, Egypt, and Thailand, as you navigate dangerous terrain, and solve intricate puzzles.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, and the game is filled with content that reflects the time it is set in — the late 1930s. The game promises detailed environments with puzzles to be solved, relics to be recovered, and lots of enemies along the way.

Just like other Indiana Jones titles, you’ll need to utilise your whip and gun, and there’s a fair bit of sneaking around too. You’ll also have access to hours of open-world exploration, as you uncover secrets while evading sneaky traps, and solve the puzzle of the Great Circle in this upcoming title.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

In month with several remasters of older titles launching, a brand-new IP arrives as a bright spot. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developed by Sandfall Interactive, is a turn-based RPG with real-time mechanics that promises immersive combat and an engaging story set in a world inspired by Belle Époque France. In the RPG, players lead members of Expedition 33 against the Paintress, who can paint death. The Paintress wakes up once a year and paints a number on her monolith, and every one of the same age as that number dies.

As the cursed numbers count down, it falls on Expedition 33, named after the next number the Paintress will paint, to put an end to her evil. Built in Unreal Engine 5, Clair Obscur features cutting-edge visuals, an intriguing dark-fantasy world, and distinct turn-based combat based on real-time mechanics.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which takes inspiration from iconic franchises like Final Fantasy and Persona, also features a star-studded cast, including Charlie Cox, Andy Serkis and Ben Starr. The game arrives on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X on April 24.

Days Gone Remastered

When: April 25

Where: PS5

Once you set foot into the rugged, post-apocalyptic world of Days Gone Remastered, you must navigate the always-changing Pacific Northwest and battle hordes of Freakers and hostile human factions. You’ll play the role of Deacon St. John, a former outlaw biker turned mercenary who is attempting to uncover the mystery of his lost love.

In addition to the remastered version of the game, you can also try out the new Horde Assault mode that lets you battle against hordes of Freakers, the victims of the deadly pandemic that ravaged the Pacific Northwest.

If you’ve been waiting to play Days Gone Remastered on your PlayStation 5, you can look forward to improved graphics performance in Quality Mode, or high-framerate gameplay in Performance mode. There are other thoughtful additions, like haptic feedback when you rev your bike’s engine or engage in combat.

Forza Horizon 5

When: April 29

One of the finest games of the current-generation Xbox consoles finally arrives on PS5. Playground Games’ open-world racing title Forza Horizon 5 launched on PC and Xbox in 2021 and set the gold standard for the genre. With its cutting-edge visuals, excellent driving mechanics, a massive roster of vehicles and an expansive open-world map full of things to do, Forza Horizon 5 is a must-play for fans of racing games.

Playground Games has also announced Horizon Realms update for the game, set to arrive on all supported platforms on later this month. The developer has said it is one of the game’s biggest updates yet, and will include four new reward cars and a new stadium track.

Forza Horizon 5 arrives on PS5 as part of Microsoft’s push to launch its exclusive Xbox games on rival platforms. This month, Bethesda’s Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launches on PS5, as well. In May, Doom: The Dark Ages will release on PC, Xbox Series S/X and PS5 simultaneously.

MotoGP 25

When – April 30

Ride 5’s latest competitor, MotoGP 25, is coming this month, and fans of super bikes and racing games are in for a treat with developer and publisher Milestone’s latest installment. A new bike development system has been developed, which will offer a more immersive racing experience. The game’s career mode, Rider, is getting an expansion this year and will include activities such as dirt bike and minimoto racing to give players something to do outside of the weekend races. Veterans of the game should look forward to Hungary’s Balton Park racetrack, the new addition in this year’s installment.

The game also brings open and playable training modes, including supermoto, minibike, and flat track training, with each set in original environments. But perhaps the boldest inclusion this year is a choice between Arcade and Pro experience, which takes the game away from a casual fun experience to a simulation experience with different rider assists turned off. However, newcomers need not worry as the mode can be customised to suit your experience level. Mastering the controls, especially braking and leaning, will take some effort, however.

Among noticeable improvements, the AI riders have been tweaked to race like real-life riders, and the dashcam view has also been improved so that if you’re riding a Ducati, you don’t have to struggle to see what’s in front of you.

A federal judge set a March trial in Elon Musk’s challenge to Sam Altman’s plans to overhaul OpenAI’s business structure, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash between the two billionaires.

US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers in Oakland, California, put the trial on her calendar for March 16 during a hearing Friday after previously pledging to fast-track it rather than let it linger until 2027.

Gonzalez Rogers last month rejected Musk’s request to temporarily pause the ChatGPT maker’s transformation from a nonprofit to a more conventional, public benefit for-profit company. But she called for an expedited trial on the “core” claim from Musk’s 2024 lawsuit that OpenAI’s restructuring plan is unlawful.

Having a firm trial date could impact decisions made by OpenAI’s board on choosing a strategy to shift to a for-profit business model. It’s also possible that the trial will begin after OpenAI has completed this shift: The startup is already in talks with officials in Delaware and California over its restructuring plans, and the size of its latest funding round is partly dependent on completing its restructuring process by the end of 2025.

Musk and Altman worked together to found OpenAI in 2015. Musk now claims that OpenAI retreated from its founding purpose as a charity when it accepted billions of dollars in backing from Microsoft Corp. starting in 2019, the year after he left OpenAI’s board.

The world’s richest person launched his own artificial intelligence startup in 2023, and in late March xAI acquired the X social media platform, which he also controls, giving the new combined entity, called XAI Holdings, a value of more than $100 billion (roughly Rs. 8,55,000 crore), Bloomberg News reported.

OpenAI has denied Musk’s legal claims and has argued that his real agenda in the court fight is to advance xAI. It has asked the judge to dismiss Musk’s suit as a bid to “undermine a successful competitor” after he was “unable to seize control” of OpenAI.

OpenAI said earlier this week that it finalized a $40 billion (roughly Rs. 3,42,000 crore) funding round led by SoftBank Group Corp. The deal values the company at $300 billion (roughly Rs. 25,65,000 crore) including dollars raised — almost double the ChatGPT maker’s previous valuation of $157 billion (roughly Rs. 13,42,350 crore) from when it raised money in October.

If OpenAI doesn’t complete its restructuring by the end of 2025, however, SoftBank would be able to reduce the amount of funding it’s contributing to the round from $30 billion (roughly Rs. 2,56,500 crore) to $20 billion (roughly Rs. 1,71,000 crore), as Bloomberg has reported, while OpenAI would have the option to find other investors.

OnePlus 13T is set to launch in China soon, and smartphone enthusiasts can look forward to a new compact handset with high-end specifications, according to recent reports. The company has yet to officially reveal the design and specifications of the upcoming OnePlus 13T, but these details have leaked on numerous occasions, giving us a fair idea of what to expect from the smartphone. It is likely to be the first compact phone to debut with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

OnePlus 13T Design, Launch Timeline (Expected)

The upcoming OnePlus 13T will be a compact smartphone with flagship specifications, and the Chinese firm recently teased the arrival of a “big devil, small screen” (translated from Chinese) handset. The smartphone will be unveiled in China later this month, but there’s no word on a launch date. It’s also unclear whether the OnePlus 13T will be introduced in global markets, or whether it will remain exclusive to China.

A recently leaked image of the OnePlus 13T shared by a tipster on X (formerly Twitter) offered a peek at the handset. The OnePlus 13T appears to be equipped with a glass back and a metal frame with flat edges. It is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup, which seems to be housed in a camera island made of metal.

OnePlus 13T Camera, Battery Specifications (Expected)

Unlike the more advanced OnePlus 13 model, the smaller OnePlus 13T will only feature two rear cameras, according to recent reports. It will sport a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. Details of the selfie camera on the handset are still under wraps.

The company has confirmed that the OnePlus 13T will be equipped with a larger battery than the OnePlus 13, which packs a 6,000mAh unit. Recent reports suggest that the OnePlus 13T will feature a slightly bigger 6,200mAh battery with 80W charging support.

OnePlus 13T Display, Processor Specifications (Expected)

According to previous leaks, the upcoming OnePlus 13T will feature a 6.3-inch 1.5K OLED screen, with a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset’s display will be much smaller than the flagship OnePlus 13 model, which has a 6.82-inch screen. It is also expected to feature a hole punch cutout that houses a selfie camera.

Like the top-of-the-line model, the OnePlus 13T is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip from Qualcomm. It could arrive with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of inbuilt storage. The OnePlus 13T is expected to run on ColorOS 15 (in China), which is based on Android 15.

According to a post on Weibo, the OnePlus 13T (PKX110) scored 3,006,913 points on the AnTuTu benchmark. The results revealed that the handset achieved a CPU score of 678,498, a GPU score of 1,268,838, a memory score of 569,999, and a UX score of 489,578.

The OnePlus 13T might be the first handset from OnePlus to be equipped with the new ‘Magic Cube’ button that will replace the company’s iconic tri-state alert slider. This button is said to be programmable, like the Action Button that was first introduced by Apple on the iPhone 15 Pro models in 2023.

Oppo Reno 14 Pro is expected to arrive later this year as the successor to the Reno 13 Pro (Review) model that was unveiled by the company a few months ago. A design render of the purported Oppo Reno 14 Pro has surfaced online, giving us a peek at the design of the upcoming handset. Oppo will reportedly equip the Reno 14 Pro with a triple rear camera setup, housed in a redesigned camera island. The handset is also expected to sport a flat OLED screen and could arrive with a programmable ‘Magic Cube’ button.

Oppo Reno 14 Pro Design (Expected)

A design render of the purported Oppo Reno 14 Pro published by Smartprix shows the design of the handset’s rear panel appears similar to its predecessor, except for the camera island. While the Reno 13 Pro had three cameras located inside discrete ‘rings’, the next-gen Reno model could feature a slightly tweaked layout.

While the image suggests that the location of the triple rear camera setup will be retained on the Reno 14 Pro, the primary and ultrawide camera are seen together in the same module. Meanwhile, the optical periscope camera is located to the right, above the LED flash.

Oppo Reno 14 Pro Specifications (Expected)

According to the publication, the Oppo Reno 14 Pro will run on Android 15, with Oppo’s ColorOS 15 skin. The handset will sport a flat OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, unlike the current generation model that features a quad curved display.

Oppo will reportedly equip the Reno 14 Pro with a triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera.

There’s no word on the processor that will power the Oppo Reno 14 Pro, or the handset’s battery capacity. Like other upcoming Oppo and OnePlus smartphones, the Reno 14 Pro will feature a new ‘Magic Cube’ button that can be remapped, like Apple’s Action Button on the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models.

The publication claims that the Oppo Reno 14 Pro will be launched in China next month, and the handset will arrive in India in “June or July”. However, it’s worth taking these claims with a grain of salt, as there’s no word from the company on any plans to launch the purported successors to the Oppo Reno 13 series of smartphones.
