Honor 400 Lite has been launched as the company’s latest smartphone in select global markets. The latest number series smartphone from the Chinese tech brand succeeds last year’s Honor 200 Lite 5G, as the current Honor 300 series does not include a Lite version. The Honor 400 Lite boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra SoC. Other key features of the smartphone include a 108-megapixel dual rear camera unit, 5,230mAh battery, and an IP65-rated build.

Honor 400 Lite Price

The Honor 400 Lite is priced at FT 1,09 999 (roughly Rs. 25,000) in Hungary for the base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The price details of the 12GB RAM variant with the same storage are not available. It is confirmed to go on sale in Marrs Green, Velvet Black, and Velvet Grey colour options.

Honor 400 Lite Specifications

The dual-SIM (Nano) Honor 400 Lite runs Android 15 out of the box with MagicOS 9.0 on top. The smartphone sports a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,412pixels) AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness. The display is touted to deliver 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It runs on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra chipset and comes with 8GB and 12GB RAM options.

In terms of optics, the Honor 400 Lite features a dual rear camera setup with a 108-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.75 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. At the front, there is a 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.45 aperture.

Connectivity options on the Honor 400 Lite include 5GNR, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, OTG, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board the handset include ambient light sensor, compass, gravity sensor, and a proximity sensor. It has an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance and an SGS five-star rating for drop resistance. The phone gets an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication. 

Honor offers several AI-powered features like AI Erase, AI Painting, AI Translate, and more on the phone. It has an AI camera button that lets users capture photos and videos with one hand. The Honor 400 Lite packs a 5,230mAh battery with 35W wired fast charging support. In terms of dimensions, it measures 161×74.55×7.29mm and weighs 171 grams.

NASA’s SPHEREx Mission Sends First Space Images Before Full Sky Survey



 

NASA’s SPHEREx mission has sent back its first images from space. This marks an important step before it begins the full survey of the sky. The space telescope, which was launched on March 11, 2025, is designed to scan millions of galaxies and collect data in infrared light. On March 27, its detectors captured uncalibrated images that show thousands of light sources, including distant stars and galaxies. The images, processed with added colours for infrared wavelengths, confirm that SPHEREx is operating as expected. Once fully operational, the telescope will take 600 exposures daily and map the entire sky four times during its two-year mission.

Recorded Images Reveals Interesting Details

According to NASA’s SPHEREx mission, the observatory’s six detectors recorded images of the same area of the sky, providing a wide field of view. The top three images represent one portion of the sky, while the bottom three cover the same section. As per the report, the SPHEREx catpured each image with around 100,000 light sources. As per multiple reports, scientists can now learn more about what celestial objects and its distance from Earth with the help of infrared wavelengths. The data from SPHEREx will also help researchers to explore the origins of water in the Milky Way. Moreover, it might also help the scientists to find more clues about the universe’s earliest moments.

Olivier Doré, SPHEREx project scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Caltech, told NASA that the telescope is functioning as intended. The infrared light detected by SPHEREx is invisible to human eyes, but colour mapping enables researchers to visualise and analyse it. The observatory’s unique design includes 17 infrared wavelength bands for each detector, creating a total of 102 hues in every six-image capture.

How the Telescope Works

Unlike Hubble or the James Webb Space Telescope, which focuses on specific areas of space, SPHEREx is built for large-scale surveys. It uses spectroscopy to break down light and identify chemical compositions and distances of celestial bodies. Light entering the telescope is divided into two paths, each leading to three detectors. Specialised filters process the incoming wavelengths, allowing for detailed observations of millions of cosmic sources.

Beth Fabinsky, deputy project manager at JPL, said in NASA’s official statement that the successful image capture represents a major milestone. The telescope has also reached its target operating temperature of minus 350 degrees Fahrenheit, crucial for detecting faint infrared signals. Since focusing cannot be adjusted after launch, mission engineers verified the accuracy of the telescope’s optics before sending it into space.

Jamie Bock, principal investigator at JPL and Caltech, confirmed in NASA’s report that the telescope is performing as expected. Engineers will continue testing before the observatory begins routine operations in late April.

Lava Breaches Grindavík’s Defences as Volcanic Fissure Erupts in Iceland


A volcanic fissure has emerged near Grindavík on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula after a series of strong earthquakes. Lava has breached the town’s defence barriers. The Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO) has warned that the fissure may continue to expand. The eruption began along the Sundhnúkur crater row early in the morning. By 9:45 a.m. local time, a fissure stretching nearly 1,200 metres had opened north of Grindavík. The crack is moving southward. Officials have raised the hazard level to the highest risk category.

Evacuations and Road Closures

According to the IMO, a second fissure has appeared inside Grindavík’s protective barriers. Authorities have evacuated the town along with the Blue Lagoon spa. Roads in and out of the area have been shut. Some residents have refused to leave. Local media outlet Visir has reported that emergency services remain on high alert.

Impact of Volcanic Gas

Weather forecasts indicate that volcanic gas will be carried northeastward towards Reykjavík. The capital is located about 40 kilometres away. The IMO has stated that by tomorrow morning, changing wind patterns may direct the gas southwest and eastward. Residents have been told to remain indoors as much as possible while closely monitoring air quality updates. Reykjanes Peninsula has experienced about 11 eruptions since 2021. Eight have occurred along the Sundhnúkur crater row since last year. Scientists continue to monitor the situation closely. Authorities have urged people to avoid the affected region.

Mumbai-Based IT Training Firm Jetking to Raise Over Rs. 6 Crore to Fund Bitcoin Acquisition



Jetking, a Mumbai-based IT training firm, plans to expand its Bitcoin holdings in the coming months. Company CFO Siddharth Bharwani said Thursday Jetking would raise Rs. 6.6 crore by selling 4,28,622 equity shares in compliance with SEBI regulations. The development comes around three months after Jetking became the first publicly listed firm in India to adopt a pro-Bitcoin treasury policy in December 2024. The company aims to use Bitcoin’s high price value to elevate its financial value in the long term.

Bharwani, in a post on X, said the company board had approved a “Strategic Fund Raise” plan, proceeds from which would primarily be used to acquire Bitcoin tokens. As part of the plan, each of the 4,28,622 equity shares that Jetking will offer, will be priced Rs. 154 (Rs. 10 face value and Rs. 144 premium).

While the plan’s main objective is Bitcoin investment, some portion of the collection will also be utilised to initiate Bitcoin-related educational, training, and skill development programmes in India.

Many from India’s Web3 space lauded the company for taking a chance on Bitcoin, which is often seen as a risky asset due to volatility in the crypto market. CoinDCX co-founder Sumit Gupta commented on the development saying, “hopefully such initiatives inspire more Indian companies to learn about and explore Bitcoin and crypto.”

The company will start the process after obtaining shareholder and regulatory approvals.

Jetking’s History With Bitcoin

In December 2024, Jetking leadership announced that it had added Bitcoin tokens worth 10 crore (around $1.2 million) to its balance sheets. The firm went ahead and finalised the decision despite India’s lack of crypto clarity and the 30 percent tax rule.

Bitcoin is the oldest and the most expensive cryptocurrency in existence. Presently, it is trading at $83,577 (roughly Rs. 71.5 lakh). At its highest, Bitcoin price has exceeded the mark of $108,000 (roughly Rs. 92 lakh).

In recent months, Bitcoin accumulation has managed to attract the attention of several prominent personalities. Last month, US President Donald Trump established a strategic BTC reserve in the US for long-term holding.

In February, Jetking got a shoutout from American Bitcoin investor Michael Saylor, whose company MicroStrategy currently holds 5,28,185 Bitcoin tokens, as per data on on-chain analytics firm, Bitbo.

As per its official website, Jetking was founded in 1947 as an electronics firm. It shifted to IT training in 1990. It runs 100 IT training centres across India, training 35,000 students annually in blockchain, cybersecurity, and related fields. In the coming time, the company also aims to explore international collaboration on blockchain-related research and application work.

US Stablecoin Regulation Bill Nears Final Approval from House Committee: Key Details



The US is looking to regulate its stablecoin market with comprehensive guidelines. This week, the US House Financial Services Committee passed the proposed stablecoin bill – pushing it to the House floor for a full vote. The committee’s Digital Assets Subcommittee reportedly worked with Tether to draft these regulations, media reports claim. Tether is the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin – USDT, that commands a market cap of over $144 billion (roughly Rs. 12,31,739 crore).

The bill, which now awaits final approval, is dubbed the Stablecoin Transparency and Accountability for a Better Ledger Economy (STABLE) Act of 2025. It aims to give issue guidance around stablecoin payments, regulate stablecoin issuers, and establish reserve auditing mandates for stablecoin firms.

The bill passed with a 32-17 vote on April 2, the Committee announced on X. Bryan Steil, the chief of the Digital Assets Subcommittee said that the STABLE Act is a foundational step towards securing the future of financial payments and solidifying the dollar’s dominance as a world reserve currency.

Key Details About STABLE

The first draft of the bill was introduced in February this year.

Among proposed guidelines, the bill will prohibit crypto firms from creating stablecoins backed by self-issued assets. Only insured depository institutions or qualified nonbanks will be allowed to legally issue stablecoins backed by the US dollar, Treasury bills, insured deposits, or central bank reserves.

The US, through these guidelines, would direct all stablecoin issuers to maintain reserves on at least a 1:1 basis, ensure timely redemption procedures, disclose reserve composition monthly, and comply with Federal and State-level regulatory frameworks.

“Stablecoins, digital currencies pegged to stable assets like the US dollar, are already giving rise to innovation across industries. They allow American manufacturers to export products abroad easily and receive payments backed by the US dollar. Allow contractors at home to send payments faster and cheaper. Encourage entrepreneurs and other nations to conduct business with the US dollar. We must ensure that as we embrace these advancements, we also establish the necessary safeguards to protect consumers, maintain trust, and ensure the integrity of our financial systems,” Steil said, commenting on the Bill.

US lawmakers are reportedly aiming to finalise stablecoin regulations by August 2025.

US’ Tryst with Crypto

In the recent months following Trump’s return to the White House, he signed multiple executive orders favouring the crypto sector.

Samsung Patent Application Describes Phone With Four Foldable Panels, Three Hinges


Samsung could be working on a foldable phone equipped with four foldable panels, according to a patent application. The document reveals a design for a device with three hinges that connect four folding panels that extend to form a single, elongated display. When folded, the four panels form a considerably thick bar The South Korean technology conglomerate has yet to unveil a tri-fold smartphone to compete with the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design that was launched in select markets.

Samsung Patent Application Shows Device Could Feature Three Hinges

A patent application on the WIPO website (via SamMobile) indicates that Samsung is working on a foldable device with four foldable panels. These components are shown to be connected via three hinges. When unfolded, the smartphone appears to form a much larger display. The second and third panel are joined by a more complex hinge that allows the furthermost panels to fold inward.

The document, which is titled ‘Electronic device including bendable display’, incudes drawings of the most advanced foldable design from Samsung we’ve seen so far. The company has shown off several prototypes of foldable phones with three folding panels, and even a “rollable” display, but the device described in this document could unfold to form a much larger panel, offering more screen real estate.

While the two inner panels appear to fold toward together in Fig. 5b, the next drawing (Fig. 5c) shows the outermost panels fold on top of the inner ones using two hinges (535 and 515). Once the device is in this partially folded state, a user can fold it once again, along the middle hinge (525).

As a result, we see a considerably thick but compact foldable phone in Fig 5d, which can be fully unfolded to form the handset seen in Fig 5a. We can also see another view of the device when it is fully folded in Fig 5e.

Earlier this week, another Samsung patent application revealed the company could be working on a foldable device that can be folded both inwards and outwards — the company previously showed off a prototype of the handset in 2023. The company has also been spotted working on a tri-fold phone with two hinges and S Pen support.

It is unclear whether Samsung plans to turn the foldable device with four panels described in the patent application into a commercial device. The company typically showcases some of its latest display prototypes that aren’t ready to be launched as consumer devices, and we might see a preview of the purported foldable device in the future.

Honor May Launch a Mid-Range Smartphone With an 8,000mAh Battery



Honor has been quiet when it comes to launches in the Indian market. However, in China, there have been plenty of launches. The Chinese brand is now looking to make its mark with a smartphone that packs a massive battery. The company has teased this device in previous posts on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, but we are now starting to see more details about this upcoming smartphone’s hardware and market placement. Indeed, it still remains unclear whether this device will make it to India.

Tipster Digital Chat Station has put up a post stating that the Honor phone with a massive battery is not an April Fool’s Day joke, but a real device with a model number. The tipster added that the phone has been tagged as the DVD-AN00 on the MIIT database. The handset also seems to have received a 3C certification.

Coming to the battery, the tipster expects this mid-range phone to be powered by a large one with long battery life. A previous report by Huawei Central pointed out that this phone could be powered by an 8,000mAh battery. The same report also mentions that this mid-range device will have a very loud set of speakers. The phone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen series chipset, which does hint at a global release.

Charging large batteries quickly and efficiently has always been a problem. Digital Chat Station also mentions that this large battery will support 80W charging, which is good to have given that this is expected to be a very high-capacity battery. Hopefully, given the latest carbon silicon technology, this won’t be a large and bulky phone as we have seen with most ‘big battery’ smartphones in the past.

Realme is no stranger to large batteries either and also seems to be working (in Hindi) on a device with a large 8,000mAh battery. It too is expected to support 80W charging. However, Realme has yet to decide on the final battery capacity, which will also increase or decrease the phone’s charging speed.

Anthropic Introduces Claude for Education Plan for Students and Academic Staff



Anthropic introduced a new subscription tier dubbed Claude for Education on Wednesday. The artificial intelligence (AI) firm said that the plan will include a specialised version of its chatbot aimed at higher education institutions. With this tier, universities can also opt for full campus access that will let students, faculty, and administrative staff use the AI chatbot for their role-specific functions. Students will also get to use a special Learning Mode feature that, instead of providing answers directly, helps them work their way towards the solution.

Claude for Education Tier Comes With New Features

In a newsroom post, the San Francisco-based tech giant detailed its new tier. Unlike the company’s consumer-focused plans, Claude for Education does not have a fixed subscription price. Just like its enterprise offering, educational institutions can reach out to Anthropic’s Education team to get a quote based on the campus size and their needs.

One of the main highlights of the subscription tier is a new Learning Mode feature. Accessible within Projects, the new mode is designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of topics and reasoning processes. When a student asks the chatbot an academic question, it takes a guiding role to help the student reach the solution on their own.

The mode also focuses on the Socratic line of questioning to help users provide evidence to support their conclusion. Anthropic states that the Learning Mode will enable students to develop their core concepts and provide structured formats for research papers, study guides, and more.

Anthropic says faculty can also use Claude to provide students with individualised feedback on essays, create visual assets for learning plans, and generate questions of varying difficulty levels. Similarly, it claims that administrative staff can use the AI chatbot to automate repetitive email responses to common inquiries, analyse enrollment trends, and make processes more efficient.

Additionally, Anthropic has also partnered with Internet2, a non-profit organisation that provides secure and cloud solutions, and educational technology company Infrastructure, which has built the educational platform Canvas. The company is working to integrate its AI chatbot into the platform.

The AI firm has already struck full campus access plans with Northeastern University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Champlain College. The Northestern University is also working with Anthropic to “build best practices for AI integration in higher education, new AI-powered education tools, and frameworks for responsible AI adoption in educational settings.”

Sony Bravia Projector 7 With 4K 120 FPS Support and XR Processor Launched


Sony Bravia Projector 7 was launched on Wednesday. It is the latest addition to the company’s lineup of high-end Silicon X-tal Reflective Display (SXRD) laser projectors. The projector is powered by the Bravia XR Processor which is claimed to enable XR Dynamic Tone Mapping, XR Deep Black, and other features for visually enhancing the images. Sony says Bravia Projector 7 supports video projection in a native 4K resolution and supports IMAX Enhanced content.

Sony Bravia Projector 7 is equipped with a SXRD panel with a 2,200 lumens lamp which can project content in up to 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) resolution for up to 20,000 hours. It is said to cater to gamers with 4K 120 frames per second (fps) support, an input lag under 12 ms, HDMI 2.1 support, and an ultra-low latency mode. Sony claims that the Bravia Projector 7 has compact and lightweight design, measuring 18.13 x 7.88 x 18.59 inches in terms of dimensions and weighing approximately 13kg.

Powered by the Bravia XR Processor, the projector has XR Dynamic Tone Mapping feature which analyses peak brightness frame by frame to deliver optimal tone mapping. Meanwhile, the XR Triluminos Pro algorithm can detect colour metrics such as saturation, hue, and brightness to reproduce natural shades, as per the company. Its Aspect Ratio Scaling mode offers increased flexibility with different cinemascope screens, allowing viewers to switch between 2.35:1 and 16:9 content.

The projector also gets an upscaling feature called XR Clear Image which leverages a vast database to recreate lost texture and detail in scenes while minimising noise. As per Sony, it offers 95 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut along with dynamic gamma correction and precise colour correction in both HDR and SDR content. For maintaining crisp visuals irrespective of the angle, there are optical lens shift and vertical keystone correction features.

Sony says the Bravia Projector 7 is compatible with home automation platforms like Control4, Crestron, Savant, and AMX. Further, it also supports remote monitoring via OvrC and Domotz, enabling consumers to carry out system maintenance and control the projector with a single remote.

The company is yet to reveal the pricing and the availability of the Sony Bravia Projector 7.

Netflix TV App Updated With Multilingual Audio Support for All Movies, TV Shows



Netflix’s TV app has been updated with the ability to view movies and TV shows in multiple languages. The streaming platform has announced that the Netflix app for TV now allows viewers to select all available languages when watching content across its catalogue. Netflix currently offers content in more than 30 languages, and the platform allows users to select different languages for audio and subtitles while streaming content on mobile devices, PCs, and smart TVs.

Netflix Says Multilingual Audio Support on TV Was a Highly Requested Feature

The arrival of multilingual audio support on the Netflix TV app was announced in a post on the company’s website. Netflix says that it received thousands of language availability requests every month. It’s worth noting that Netflix viewers could already select from all available languages on mobile devices, or when viewing content via a web browser.

The latest update to the Netflix app for TVs is another step in bringing the viewing experience on par with other platforms. Some features are still available only on certain platforms. The Netflix app for PC, for example, offers a “Browse by Language” feature.

Netflix says that non-English content makes up nearly a third of all videos that are streamed on the platform. The service currently offers several movies and TV shows, and content is available in over 30 languages. 

These include popular shows like Berlin, Squid Game, and All Quiet on the Western Front, which are shot in Spanish, Korean, and German, respectively.   These titles are also available in English and other local languages.

At the time of writing, the multilingual audio support was not available on the latest versions of Netflix for Android TV and tvOS. The app currently allows users in India to pick the original language, English, Hindi, and a few local languages. It might be rolling out to users in phases, or might even be enabled via a server-side switch in the future.

The platform recently introduced support for streaming content in HDR10+ on AV1-enabled TVs and streaming devices. Netflix users who are subscribed to the service’s most expensive plan can view HDR10+ content, which offers improved dynamic range and picture quality when compared with HDR10 content.
