Google NotebookLM Is Getting a New Discover Sources Feature That Can Search the Web

Google NotebookLM is getting a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature that will make it easier for users to add sources for a particular topic. Announced on Wednesday, the new feature is dubbed Discover Sources, and it can scour the Internet to find relevant sources for a given topic. The Mountain View-based tech giant said that this feature uses Gemini to find information on the web. Notably, the new feature arrives just a week after the company introduced the new Mind Maps feature for NotebookLM.

NotebookLM’s Discover Sources Is Powered by Gemini

In a blog post, Google detailed the new NotebookLM feature. Discover Sources, which is powered by Gemini, is currently rolling out to all users, and is not limited to its Plus subscription. The tech giant said that the new feature will enable users to learn and understand new topics even if they do not have a document or source for the topic.

To find the Discover Sources option, users will have to open a new notebook in NotebookLM and check the Sources panel. It can be seen next to the “Add Sources” option as a button with a magnifying glass and Gemini sparkle icon. Tapping the button opens a pop-up box with the text “What are you interested in?” and a text box at the bottom.

Users can write a prompt about the topic they’re interested in learning about. Once added, Gemini runs a web search to find high-quality sources from around the web. The AI tool shares up to 10 sources, which can be manually added to the notebook.

Google says that once the sources have been imported to the notebook, users can access all the usual NotebookLM features for the information, including creating Briefing Docs, FAQs, and Audio Overviews. These sources will also remain in the notebook, and users can read the original text and use the chatbot to ask questions about them.

New users can also tap on the “I’m Feeling Curious” button, and Gemini will curate sources on a random topic to help the user get started. Notably, Google says Discover Sources acts as a discovery agent.

Crypto Price Today: Bitcoin Faces Loss Alongside Most Altcoins Following Trump’s Tariff Decision

The crypto market momentum appears to have slowed down after US President Donald Trump announced new tariffs. On Wednesday, April 3, Bitcoin reflected a price drop of around two percent on international exchanges. Bitcoin price currently stands at $83,577 (roughly Rs. 71.5 lakh) on global platforms, according to CoinMarketCap. On Indian exchanges, Bitcoin price logged a minor loss to trade within the range of $86,387 (roughly Rs. 74 lakh) and $87,558 (roughly Rs. 75 lakh).

“The US imposed 10 percent base tariffs on all countries, along with different slabs on different countries. Bitcoin faced volatility after President Trump’s ‘Liberation Day’ tariff announcements. The asset was gaining strength and surged above $88,000 (roughly Rs. 75.3 lakh) but dropped below $84,000 (roughly Rs. 71.9 lakh). The market sentiments continue to remain fearful,” the CoinDCX market desk told Gadgets 360.

Ether dropped in price by 1.60 percent on foreign exchanges to trade at $1,830 (roughly Rs. 1.56 lakh). On Indian exchanges, the asset recorded a price dip of under two percent to trade at $1,930 (roughly Rs. 1.65 lakh).

“The whole crypto market is bleeding in red with most of the prominent altcoins having collapsed. Ether is facing bearish trends. Crypto markets, already prone to macroeconomic change, responded violently to the tariff news. The repercussions demonstrate how external policy decisions still influence the direction of the crypto market in unexpected ways,” said Avinash Shekhar, Co-Founder and CEO, Pi42.

The crypto price tracker by Gadgets 360 showed majority altcoins trading in losses.

These include Solana, Binance Coin, Dogecoin, Cardano, Avalanche, and Polkadot.

Chainlink, Avalanche, Stellar, Litecoin, and Uniswap also tumbled over the last day.

The overall crypto market cap slipped by 1.68 percent in the last 24 hours. At present, the valuation of the sector stands at $2.67 trillion (roughly Rs. 2,28,64,130 crore), shows CoinMarketCap. The dominance of Bitcoin and Ether on the crypto market stands at over 61 and around eight percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Litecoin, Cosmos, Iota, Status, and Braintrust managed to register minor profits in the otherwise slowed down market.

Cybercriminals Offer Access to ‘Lucid’ Phishing Platform to Target iPhone, Android Phones in 88 Countries

Cybercriminals are using massive device farms that comprise iPhone and Android smartphones in order to send phishing messages to users in 88 countries, according to security researchers. The ‘Lucid’ phishing-as-a-service (PhaaS) platform is designed to deliver messages via iMessage and rich communication services (RCS) chats, with links that lead to phishing websites. These messages are capable of evading typical SMS spam filters due to end-to-end encryption (E2EE). The cybercriminals are also selling licences to use the Lucid platform via a Telegram channel.

Lucid Platform Claimed to Deliver Over 100,000 Messages Every Day

Unlike regular SMS, messages are delivered to users via iMessage or RCS on iPhone and Android smartphones, respectively. As these are E2EE messaging services, the messages have a higher delivery rate than SMS phishing messages, according to Prodaft’s report. These messages are also cheaper than SMS, as there are no operator charges.

In order to deliver a high volume of messages via iMessage, Lucid uses large iOS device farms that use rotating, temporary Apple IDs. On the other hand, the cybercriminals use “carrier implementation inconsistencies in sender verification” to send RCS messages to unsuspecting users.

The messages are designed to convince users to click on a phishing link, which leads to one of several phishing websites set up on over 1,000 domains owned by the threat actors. For example, some messages prompt users to complete fake toll payments, in order to avoid fines. On iMessage, recipients are even asked to respond, as links are disabled in new texts from unknown senders.

The ready-to-use phishing websites allow cybercriminals to collect people’s details, including their credit card information. They can then use a validator to verify whether the card details are valid, before using or selling the information.

Lucid is operated as a PhaaS platform by a Chinese group known as XinXin, according to the researchers. Access to the platform is sold on a weekly basis via a Telegram channel. They are believed to be behind other platforms such as Darcula and Lighthouse, which also offer similar PhaaaS functionality.

In order to stay safe from these phishing attacks, users should refrain from clicking on links in messages received from unknown users. When in doubt about the authenticity of a message, users can contact the sender by looking up the official contact details online, or log in to a service that they use and check for pending payments.

Intel Core Ultra 200S Series: Revolutionizing Gaming and Creative Performance

Intel’s latest desktop processors, the Intel Core Ultra 200S Series (Arrow Lake-S), are set to redefine performance for gamers and creators. Offering a unique combination of powerful performance, impressive energy efficiency, and advanced AI capabilities, these processors mark a major leap in computing tech.

Let’s explore what makes this powerful lineup stand out and why it could be the perfect time for you to upgrade.

The Extraordinary Intel Core Ultra Processors

Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors are built for users who expect more performance, more power efficiency, and more capability. Featuring a powerful combination of Skymont Efficiency cores (E-cores) and Lion Cove Performance cores (P-cores), these chips are ready for everything from elite gaming to high-end content creation and give equally good performance for anyone who is looking to do a mix of both types of work. From the start, Intel’s Arrow Lake-S design focused on delivering top-tier performance per watt while significantly reducing power usage and heat. The result is a processor that’s fast, cool, energy-efficient and perfect for today’s most demanding workloads.

But it’s not just about speed. With up to 24 blazing-fast cores and Intel’s latest hybrid architecture, the Core Ultra desktop lineup delivers smoother multitasking, quieter operation, and smart power distribution that adjusts dynamically based on your workload. Whether you’re gaming competitively, editing complex video projects, or streaming without compromise, this platform is built to handle it all, so you can get unrivalled immersive experience and peak performance.

Setting New Standard for Power Efficiency

Intel’s latest Core Ultra series marks a major step forward in energy efficiency. Compared to the previous generation, Arrow Lake-S CPUs deliver equal or even better performance in gaming and even in content-creation-related work, but with roughly half the power consumption. Imagine that? Even routine work like web browsing or office tasks now uses around 50% less energy¹. This shows an impressive leap in performance.

These aren’t just minor upgrades, they directly respond to the growing demands of PC users who want quieter, cooler-running machines without sacrificing power or performance.

Unrivalled Gaming Performance

Intel places gamers at the heart of its latest desktop processors, and the results speak for themselves. Benchmark tests show that the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K delivers exceptional gaming performance, matching or even surpassing Intel’s previous generation and key competitors. But what truly makes the Arrow Lake series stand out is achieving this high-level performance while using far less power.

Take popular titles such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage and God of War Ragnarok, run at the same smooth frame rates seen on previous flagship processors but use 50 to 125 watts less energy². This reduction in power consumption leads to noticeably lower temperatures (around 13°C cooler on average³), making these CPUs perfect for gaming machines where noise reduction, cooling efficiency, and long-term reliability are essential priorities.

Transforming Content Creation Capabilities

Intel’s Core Ultra processors aren’t just built for gaming, they’re also designed to meet the high demands of modern content creators. Whether you’re editing videos, rendering images, or managing multiple tasks at once, these processors deliver performance where it matters most.

Take the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, for example. It offers up to 50% faster AI-assisted video editing⁴ and up to 20% faster ray-traced rendering⁵ compared to the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X. It also delivers up to 14% faster image rendering⁶ and 22% faster multithreading performance⁷, making it ideal for heavy creative workloads like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Blender. Plus, by offloading background AI tasks to the built-in NPU, it frees up your CPU, offering up to 5% pure compute performance⁸ boost, so your system stays fast and responsive even under pressure.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 265K also shines when it comes to value. It delivers up to 16% faster video editing⁹ and an impressive 69% boost in image rendering¹⁰ when compared to the AMD Ryzen 9 9700X. Even against the Ryzen 9 9900X, it holds strong with up to 7% faster video editing¹¹ and 6% faster image rendering¹². It also provides up to 10% better performance¹³ in gaming, streaming, and recording, tested in titles like Hitman 3: Dartmoor, and up to 16% faster multithreaded performance¹⁴.

One particularly exciting feature is Intel’s Xe-LPG integrated graphics, offering dedicated hardware acceleration for advanced video codecs, including 4K and 8K XAVC¹⁵. Combined with integrated AI-driven tools, this significantly boosts efficiency, enabling smoother workflows for professional video editors and creators.

AI Integration That Changes the Game

For the first time, Intel brings powerful artificial intelligence directly to desktop users with the Core Ultra Series 2 desktop processors. Featuring a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) combined with robust CPU and GPU cores, these processors deliver up to 36 trillion operations per second (TOPS) of AI performance without the need for a discrete GPU. Practically, this means demanding AI tasks, like voice and camera recognition during gaming or live streaming, can now run efficiently without overloading your main CPU or GPU.

A standout example is Cephable application, which enables gamers to control gameplay through facial gestures and voice commands. This opens exciting possibilities for users, boosting overall performance.

Why Upgrading Now Makes Sense

Intel wants you to upgrade to its new Core Ultra processors. If you’re still using a 3-year-old system or running Windows 10, which is nearing its end-of-life, now is the perfect time to upgrade. Intel’s new Core Ultra processors bring substantial improvements in performance, power efficiency, and responsiveness for both gamers and content creators.

Compared to the 3-year-old Intel Core i7-12700K, the performance leap is more impressive than ever. The Core Ultra 9 285K delivers up to 75% faster image rendering¹⁶ than the Intel Core i7-12700K, while the Core Ultra 7 265K offers up to 65% faster image rendering¹⁷. With smoother multitasking, faster AI-assisted workflows, and cutting-edge features like dynamic game rendering, Core Ultra CPUs make sure your system is ready for everything.

By using Intel’s advanced Thread Director technology, the Intel Core Ultra series intelligently manages workloads by assigning tasks to the right cores, especially on Windows 11.

Industry experts emphasize the benefits users will see by upgrading sooner rather than later. The takeaway is clear: Choosing an Intel Core Ultra processor today not only boosts immediate performance but also ensures your PC is ready to handle future software and OS advancements with ease.

Ready-to-Upgrade Ecosystem

Intel has partnered closely with leading motherboard manufacturers, including Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock, and Asus, to ensure full compatibility with the new Core Ultra processors. Each brand offers a strong lineup of feature-packed motherboards designed to unlock the full potential of these CPUs.

This generation also introduces significant platform-level upgrades, including native support for Wi-Fi 7¹⁸, and a first ever native support on Thunderbolt 5¹⁹, and up to 48 PCIe lanes, making it easier than ever to configure your dream setup. Whether you’re a gamer aiming for ultra-low latency or a content creator looking to maintain a high-performance workflow, this platform removes the bottlenecks. Fewer cables, faster speeds, and next-level connectivity mean you get more all the time.

With Intel’s strong ecosystem collaboration, you can expect a smooth setup, consistent firmware updates, and reliable support, making the switch to the Core Ultra platform an upgrade that’s as simple as it is powerful.

A Clear Commitment to Users

Intel’s transparent approach to resolving performance issues after launch highlights its dedication to delivering a superior user experience. They successfully addressed software optimization hurdles, compatibility challenges with anti-cheat systems, and BIOS-related concerns. Intel also collaborated closely with industry partners and motherboard makers to quickly implement solutions.

This commitment to collaboration was also on full display through Intel’s partnership with Ubisoft for the Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Working directly with Ubisoft’s development teams, Intel provided ongoing hardware-level insights to help optimize the game for Intel Core Ultra Series 2 Desktop Processors. From improving frame rates and responsiveness to enabling dynamic lighting and AI-enhanced realism, this deep integration ensured that the game not only looked stunning but also ran smoothly on Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors. Hence, Intel played a crucial role in shaping the technical experience behind the game.

It’s a great example of how Intel isn’t just building chips, it’s building better experiences for users.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Reportedly Delayed by a Month or Two

Samsung was rumoured to unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge sometime this month. Now, a new report from Korea suggests that the tech giant has postponed the release by a month or two. The slim handset was teased at the Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this year and will debut as the fourth model in the Galaxy S25 series. It could measure 5.8mm in thickness and is likely to boast a 6.7-inch display and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Samsung Reportedly Pushed Galaxy S25 Edge Launch to May or June

As per a report by ET News, Samsung has delayed the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The report, citing industry sources, claims that the company plans to unveil the device at an event in May or June. It was initially tipped to be released on April 16. Samsung reportedly informed three South Korean mobile carriers about the change in the launch schedule.

Given that President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment trial is set for April 4, the publication notes that the schedule was modified to avoid a potential decrease in marketing effectiveness due to divided public attention. Additionally, Noh Tae-moon, the leader of the MX Business Division, who also serves as the acting head of the DX Division, reportedly played a role in the schedule adjustment. The report states that the delay is not due to any quality issues related to the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Samsung will reportedly hold an online launch event for the Galaxy S25 Edge. The launch is expected to follow a similar approach to the one used for the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (SE) last year, with a teaser video.

The brand will reportedly price the Galaxy S25 Edge between the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra models. The 256GB storage model is expected to cost around KRW 1.5 million (roughly Rs. 87,000).

Galaxy S25 Edge was teased at the Unpacked Event in January this year and also showcased at MWC 2025. It is believed to run on Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC and could pack 12GB RAM and a 3,900mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. It is tipped to measure 5.84mm in thickness.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (iOS) Review: A Near-Perfect Port for the Small Screen

There’s no shortage of single-player action-adventure games with a particular focus on puzzle solving and exploration today. PlayStation’s Uncharted series set the gold standard for adventure games, whether it was Nathan Drake battling his way to El Dorado, the fabled ‘city of gold’, or exploring the mythical city of Shambhala. Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi series built upon adventure as a storytelling device and exploration as a gameplay mechanic. And Xbox’s Indiana Jones and the Great Circle brought the formula back to the original adventurer who inspired it all. These games offer a balance of fun mechanics, engaging storylines, and interesting characters.

But before Indiana Jones and Nathan Drake made their mark in video games, there was Lara Croft. The swashbuckling British archaeologist wrote the book on the action-adventure genre of games when the first Tomb Raider debuted in 1996 on the original PlayStation. And while early games in the series did not have the freedom of exploration we’ve come to expect from the recent open-world Tomb Raider titles due to hardware limitations of the time, it did offer plenty of puzzles and good old fun. Hours and hours of endless fun. So, you can imagine our delight when we learned that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, originally released in 2010, was receiving a modern iOS port courtesy of Feral Interactive.

The game puts you in the military boots of Lara Croft as she, in her iconic short shorts, along with a 2,000-year-old Mayan warrior named Totec, battle the Keeper of Darkness Xolotl and his hordes of ghastly creatures to prevent humanity’s untimely demise. So, if you missed out on playing this isometric action-adventure title the first time around, then you can do so nearly 15 years after its release, that too on a smartphone with modern controls, gamepad support, and console-quality visuals.

I’ve spent a few days with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and I think it is a near-perfect port for iOS, one that promises an excellent mobile adventure that can be experienced on your daily commute, as well.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Review: Price, Supported Devices

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light’s iOS port is available via the App Store, priced at Rs. 699. Feral Interactive has ported the game for both iPhone and the iPad and it supports a handy list of devices running iOS 17/ iPadOS 17 or later firmware. As per the publisher, it can run on iPhone XR and newer models, including the iPhone SE (2022). The game is also designed to work on the iPad Mini (2019), iPad Air (2019), iPad (2019), the iPad Pro (2017), and their newer models.

It’s also worth noting that a previous version of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was available on iOS several years ago. The newest port from Feral Interactive, which also worked on the Nintendo Switch port of the game, is not an update to that version, but a separate, brand-new release optimised for modern mobile devices with updated visuals, full gamepad support, and featuring all 14 levels from the original game.

The game itself is around 3.63GB in size but the company recommends having at least 4GB of free space on the device for an optimal gameplay experience and to avoid initial installation issues. I played the game on an iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 18.3.1.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light: Controls

Despite originally launching for the PS3 and the Xbox 360, the game’s iOS port feels tailor-made for touchscreen devices; it is that fantastic. The touch controls are intuitive yet simple. Touching the left side of the screen brings up the virtual joystick which allows you to control Croft as she explores, fights, and navigates. Tapping the same side engages jump, enabling the player to hop over obstacles.

Meanwhile, the right side of the screen features several touch-based buttons for in-game actions such as aiming, bringing out the famous twin pistols, dropping a bomb, or using the grappling hook. The controls are precise, despite running on a device with a small screen with inputs for both navigation and shooting. While there is a bit of a learning curve, it only takes a short while before your Croft is throwing spears, performing wall runs, exploring perilous environments without much hiccup.

The game also includes support for a keyboard or a controller, opening up more avenues to enjoy Lara Croft’s adventures.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light: Gameplay

While the story in Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light may not have the depth of Indiana Jones or the Nathan Drake adventures, the gameplay is where it truly shines. It is fluid, precise, fantastic, and most importantly, fun. There are 14 levels from the base game along with three DLC packs in total, and the basic objective in all of them is simple: discover hidden collectibles, beat score challenges for each level, and unlock extra weapons and artifacts which boost the player stats. Completing all of the above is always a satisfying experience as the next level unlocks.

The game provides players with an option to go on the journey alone (solo) or take along a friend (co-op). In the latter, you play as Croft while your friend takes up the mantle of Totec. Although the game isn’t as difficult as to require a co-op companion to watch your back, the experience in co-op becomes more fun as the number of enemies increases.

The game’s isometric view provides the player with a top-down view of all the action although some of it is seldom blocked by gateways or archways. This also causes confusion sometimes if you’re battling several enemies on the screen. However, its levels are well-designed with hidden pathways, challenging environments, and hordes of skeletal warriors. And the puzzles you solve as Croft aren’t straightforward at all. They require players to scour the environment and pick their brains, although it all gets a little repetitive as you navigate through the 14 levels of the base game and then the DLCs. There are optional puzzles too, which earn players bonus rewards.

Throughout the game, players must utilise various weapons, artifacts, and relics to survive. Some of them, such as the Scepter of Huitzilopochtli or the Knife of Itzli, provide health regeneration and weapon-based advantages. Some artefacts, on the other hand, come with trade-offs, too.

While the game’s graphics are dated and aren’t going to win any awards, it’s addictive gameplay is what really sells it. On the iPhone 15 Pro, there are three modes to choose from: Graphics, Performance, and Battery Saver, with each having their respective benefits and trade-offs. The haptics, however, remain excellent as ever across modes. The phone does tend to heat up after playing a while, so you’d be better off using a controller if you’re planning to play at home for extended sessions.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light: Verdict

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light’s iOS port is a near-perfect mobile adaptation of the classic action-adventure game from 2010. While issues with the camera angle are present, the intuitive touch screen controls, complex puzzle-solving, and fluid gameplay mechanics make it an enjoyable experience, especially on the go. And although the graphics feel dated, the game’s well-designed levels and boss battles help maintain the fun factor. So, if you missed playing the game first (or the second time) around, then Feral Interactive’s latest port is a great opportunity to embark on Lara Croft’s classic quest once again.
