Exhausting your daily (or total) data allowance on your prepaid mobile connection in the middle of the day can be a bothersome experience, but there’s a quick solution for Airtel subscribers. The telecom operator lets customers “borrow” up to 1GB of data at no upfront cost and pay for it at a later date. However, there are certain limitations that are tied to this 1GB Airtel data loan offer, which are worth keeping in mind before you opt for this service.

How the 1GB Airtel Data Loan Works

If your data allowance for the day is over, you can avail of a 1GB Airtel data loan that gives you access to additional data for a short period of time. Keep in mind that the 1GB of data granted via this scheme is only valid until 11:59pm on the same day, so you will need to use up that data before midnight.

Once your 1GB Airtel data loan is granted, it is immediately added to your account and available for the remainder of the same day. You will need to “repay” the data loan with another valid recharge, to be eligible to claim another data loan from the telecom operator.

How to Get a 1GB Airtel Data Loan Using Airtel Thanks App

You can opt for the 1GB Airtel data loan from your smartphone via the Airtel Thanks app on your smartphone. You can follow these steps to get a 1GB Airtel data loan if you still have some data allowance remaining before it is completely exhausted, as the activation takes place over the internet.

1. Open the Airtel Thanks app and tap on the search bar at the top.
2. Search for the phrase “Data loan”.
3. Tap on Data loan.
4. If you have two Airtel SIMs, select the preferred number to avail the 1GB Airtel data loan.
5. Tap on Terms & Conditions and read the details on this page, then press the × button.
6. Select Avail Data Loan to activate the 1GB Airtel data loan on your phone number.

How to Get a 1GB Airtel Data Loan Using a USSD Code

Using the Airtel Thanks app might not be an option if you have already exhausted your data allowance for the day, but you can still get a 1GB Airtel data loan via the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) protocol that is supported on most phones. You must enter the right code, then follow the instructions on the pop-up messages to activate the 1GB Airtel data loan.

1. Open the phone or dialer app on your phone, and switch to the keypad.
2. Enter *567*3# and press the call button.
3. Provide an appropriate response on the pop-up window to activate the 1GB Airtel data loan.

How to Repay Your 1GB Airtel Data Loan 

It’s worth noting that you must have “active validity” in your account, which means you should have an active recharge plan in order to avail of the 1GB Airtel data loan facility. The telecom operator’s terms and conditions also stipulate that the recovery of this data loan will take place when you purchase your next data pack.

In order to ‘repay’ your 1GB Airtel data loan, the telco’s terms and conditions says you can purchase the following prepaid recharge plans: Rs. 22, Rs. 33, Rs. 77, Rs. 121, Rs. 149, Rs. 161, Rs. 181, and Rs. 361. Part of the recharge will be used to repay the data loan, as per the telecom operator. Keep in mind that these prices might be revised by the operator at any time, so you should read the terms and conditions before availing of the scheme.

Only prepaid Airtel customers can avail of the 1GB data loan offer, and the operator will not grant another data loan until the previous one has been settled. Meanwhile, unused data does not roll over after midnight, which means you have until midnight before validity of the 1GB Airtel data loan expires.

Honor Watch 5 Ultra Specifications

Honor Watch 5 Ultra has a 1.5-inch circular LTPO AMOLED display with 466 x 466 pixels resolution and 310ppi pixel density while also offering always-on display functionality. The display has sapphire crystal protection, while the watch case is made of aerospace-grade titanium alloy. It has eSIM support and Bluetooth calling that allow you to make calls directly from your wrist.

The smartwatch has two buttons that support long press, short press and other operations. The Honor Watch 5 Ultra offers heart rate monitoring and has an ECG sensor for providing instant ECG readings. It is claimed to identify potential heart health risks and guide users to manage their heart health. Other sensors on the wearable include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, air pressure sensor, gyroscope sensor, geomagnetic sensor and ambient light sensor.

Honor Watch 5 Ultra packs 64MB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It has an IP68-rated build and 5ATM (50-meter) certification. It includes the company’s Yoyo AI assistant and ships with MagicOS 9.0 operating system.

For fitness, the Honor Watch 5 Ultra supports various sports modes, like outdoor running, outdoor walking, outdoor cycling, indoor running, mountain climbing, pool swimming, badminton, snowboarding, among others.

Honor Watch 5 Ultra can be paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. Other connectivity options available are NFC, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BeiDou and QZSS. Further, it offers support for speakers and microphones. It is compatible with handsets running on Android 9.0 and above and 13.0 and above.

The company has packed a 480mAh battery on the Honor Watch 5 Ultra. With typical usage, it is advertised to deliver up to 15 days of battery life without eSIM. With AOD enabled, the battery life is said to reach up to seven days. Honor claims three days of battery life for the device in eSIM mode with typical usage. The wearable supports wireless charging. It measures 46.3×46.3×11.4mm and weighs around 51.8g without strap.

Perplexity introduced its most expensive subscription tier on Tuesday. Dubbed Perplexity Max, the new plan is aimed at the platform’s heavy users and costs $200 (roughly Rs. 17,000) a month. To entice users to purchase the subscription, the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence (AI) firm is also offering early access to new features, priority access to services that utilise third-party models, and higher rate limits. While the new subscription tier has arrived, the existing Perplexity Pro and the enterprise-focused Enterprise Pro tiers remain unchanged.

Perplexity Max to Offer Early Access to the Comet Browser

In a blog post, the AI startup announced the new subscription tier and highlighted the benefits it comes with. Interestingly, with Perplexity Max, the company has now joined the ranks of OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, which have also introduced their $200 plans in recent months. This hyper-premium subscription model is becoming increasingly popular among Silicon Valley AI companies, and even smaller players such as Cursor have started offering similar subscriptions.

With Perplexity’s new plan, subscribers will get unlimited access to Perplexity Labs, the company’s new feature that lets users generate reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and web apps. It is currently only available to paid subscribers, and Pro users can access it with rate limits.

The company also plans to release new features and products to this group of subscribers. Highlighting one of the immediate benefits, Perplexity said it plans to provide Max users with early access to the AI-native Comet browser, which was first teased in February. Additionally, subscribers will also get access to “more premium data sources and benefits from leading brands.”

Further, Perplexity Max users will also get access to frontier AI models such as OpenAI o3-pro and Claude Opus 4, and those users who want to use these flagship models for specific projects will also get priority support.

Perplexity Max is available on the web and iOS starting today. New users can subscribe to it today, and existing subscribers can upgrade their plans. Notably, the company also highlighted that it is planning to launch an enterprise version of Max with unlimited Labs queries in the future.

OnePlus Buds 4 is scheduled to be unveiled on July 8 alongside the OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5. The company has already confirmed some key specifications of the upcoming TWS earphones, including active noise cancellation (ANC) details and battery life. They are set to be offered in two colour options. Notably, the Amazon microsite for the TWS has revealed additional features, including driver size and call noise cancellation support. They are expected to succeed the OnePlus Buds 3, which were introduced in the country in early 2024.

OnePlus Buds 4 Key Features Revealed Ahead of India Launch

The OnePlus Buds 4 will be launched in India on July 8 at 2pm IST alongside the Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 handsets. All devices will go on sale in the country via the official e-store and Amazon. The TWS earphones are confirmed to come in Storm Grey and Zen Green colourways.

Amazon’s microsite for the OnePlus Buds 4 reveals that the earphones will carry 11mm woofers and 6mm tweeters alongside dual DAC units. They will support the LHDC 5.0 audio codec and immersive 3D Spatial Audio experience. The earphones will offer a Hi-Res Audio certification as well.

OnePlus has already confirmed that the Buds 4 will offer up to 55dB adaptive ANC, including a Transparency mode. The microsite now reveals that the TWS earphones will be equipped with a three-mic system, including a feed-forward, a feedback and a talk mic, for AI-backed call noise cancellation. 

The OnePlus Buds 4 earphones are said to provide real-time AI Translation with just a tap. The earphones support Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device connectivity, and Steady Connect technology, which is claimed to offer a stable Bluetooth connection, especially outdoors. They support a dedicated Gaming Mode with up to 47ms ultra-low latency, according to the company.

On a single charge, the OnePlus Buds 4 are claimed to last for up to 45 hours, with the charging case. The earbuds alone are said to provide a playback time of up to 11 hours on a single charge. The earphones support volume swipe control. 

The Nothing Phone 3 was launched in India on Tuesday and the phone ships with Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.5 out-of-the-box. However, the UK-based startup teased the arrival of its Android 16 update during the launch event. The next iteration of the Android operating system was released by Google last month, but only Pixel devices have receiving the stable build. However, this recent teaser indicates that the Android 16 update could soon be on the cards for Nothing smartphones too.

Nothing OS 4.0 Release Date

Wrapping up the details about the Nothing Phone 3 in the launch video posted on the official Nothing YouTube channel, CEO Carl Pei said that the handset comes with Nothing OS 3.5. The company head further teased that it will begin shipping Nothing OS 4.0 based on Android 16 to devices “later this autumn”.

Thus, we can expect it to arrive between the period of September to November.

While details remain under wraps, the Nothing Phone 3 is expected to be the first handset from the company to receive the Android 16 update, considering it is the “first true flagship smartphone”.

Google released Android 16’s stable build following the I/O 2025 event last month. However, only Pixel handsets have started receiving the update, with other OEMs still testing the beta firmware. Carl Pei’s recent teaser indicates Nothing could soon join Google.

Notably, the Nothing OS 3.0 update, based on Android 15, was unveiled in September. It was announced in the same month as the global release of the OS. The update’s open beta commenced a month later, enabling users to experience the update and experiment with its new features before its public release in December.

The rollout took only a few weeks to reach all phones in Nothing’s portfolio. We can expect similar launch timelines for the Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 as well, once it launches in the autumn.

Honor MagicPad 3 was launched in China on Wednesday. The tablet arrives as the successor to last year’s MagicPad 2 and sports a 165Hz LCD screen with HDR10 certification. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of onboard storage. It ships with Honor’s Android 15-based operating system (OS). The Honor MagicPad 3 packs a 12,450mAh battery and supports SuperCharge fast charging technology.

The price of Honor MagicPad 3 starts at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 35,800) for the 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage configuration in China. It is also available in 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB variants, priced at CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 39,500) and CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 44,200), respectively. The top-end 16GB + 1TB configuration of the Honor MagicPad 3 is priced at CNY 4,199 (roughly Rs. 50,200).

Honor’s new tablet is available for purchase in China in three colour options — Moonlight White, Floating Gold, and Starry Gray.

Honor MagicPad 3 Features, Specifications

The Honor MagicPad 3 runs on MagicOS 9.0.1 based on Android 15. It sports a 13.3-inch 3.2K (2,136 x 3,200 pixels) LCD screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness, and a 291ppi pixel density. The tablet has a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and measures 293.88 x 201.38 x 5.79mm in terms of dimensions. It weighs 595g.

Powering the Honor MagicPad 3 is Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of onboard storage.

For optics, the tablet comes with a dual rear camera unit which comprises a 13-megapixel main camera with an f/2.2 aperture and autofocus, and a 2-megapixel macro lens with an f/2.2 aperture. There’s also a 9-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity options on the Honor MagicPad 3 include Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band Wi-Fi 7, and USB Type-C. It packs a 12,450mAh battery with support for 66W Honor SuperCharge fast charging.

Oppo Reno 14 5G series is set to launch in India today, July 3. The lineup, which is expected to comprise the Oppo Reno 14 5G and the Reno 14 Pro 5G, was initially introduced in China in May, followed by its Malaysian debut few days ago. In the days leading up to its launch in India, Oppo has teased several details about the handset, while other specifications have also surfaced through leaks and rumours. The base Oppo Reno 14 5G in China starts at CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 33,200) for the 12GB + 256GB RAM and storage configuration. It is also available in 16GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB configurations.

Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 14 Pro 5G price begins at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 41,500) for the 12GB + 256GB model in China. The handset can also be purchased in 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB RAM and storage variants.

Oppo Reno 14 5G Series Specifications (Expected)

The Oppo Reno 14 5G China variant sports a 6.59-inch flat OLED screen, whereas the Reno 14 Pro 5G comes with a 6.83-inch display. Both panels have a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits peak brightness, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The phones get Oppo’s Crystal Shield Glass protection on top.

Under the hood, a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset powers the Oppo Reno 14 5G. Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 14 Pro 5G has a Dimensity 8450 processor. Oppo has equipped the Reno 14 5G series with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage. The phones ship with ColorOS 15 based on Android 15.

The Oppo Reno 14 5G series is teased to come with several AI-backed features. It includes AI Recompose, AI Perfect Shot, AI Style Transfer, AI Livephoto 2.0, AI Recompose, and AI Voice Enhancer.

In the camera department, the standard Oppo Reno 14 5G is rumoured to pack a triple rear camera unit which comprises a 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.

The Reno 14 Pro 5G is teased to have a quad rear camera unit. The handset will be headlined by a 50-megapixel OV50E imaging sensor with OIS support, a 50-megapixel OV50D sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.

Both phones are also rumoured to be equipped with a 50-megapixel selfie camera.

The Oppo Reno 14 5G Chinese variant packs a 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging. Meanwhile, the Reno 14 Pro 5G houses a slightly larger 6,200mAh battery which also supports 50W AIRVOOC wireless fast charging. The Indian units are expected to come with similar battery capacities.
