Google Veo 3 Video Generation Model Comes to India, Available to Paid Subscribers



Google has brought the Veo 3 artificial intelligence (AI) model to India and multiple other countries. With this expansion, the AI-powered video generator tool is now available in every country and territory where the Gemini app is. The Mountain View-based tech giant has only made the feature available to its paid subscribers, and Veo 3 can be accessed within the Gemini app and the web interface. Notably, the AI model was first unveiled at Google I/O in May 2025.

Veo 3 Is Now Available to Google AI Pro Subscribers

In a blog post, the tech giant announced the availability of Veo 3 in India. This is the company’s second expansion of the feature. In May, Google expanded the video generation tool to 71 countries, including Australia, Japan, and Malaysia. However, India, the European Union (EU) nations, and the UK did not make the cut. Two months later, Veo 3 is now arriving in all of these countries.

In India, those interested in generating AI videos via Veo 3 will need to purchase the Google AI Pro subscription. It is the rebranded Gemini Advanced subscription, which was earlier available as part of the Google One AI Premium plan. The subscription is priced at Rs. 1,950 a month, with a one-month free trial.

Alongside access to Veo 3, subscribers also get other benefits such as access to the AI filmmaking app Flow, NotebookLM Plus, Gemini assistant across Google Workspace apps, and 2TB of total storage for Photos, Drive and Gmail. Notably, Pro subscribers can generate a total of 10 videos with Veo 3. There are no refreshes or additional credits available at this time.

Veo 3 is Google’s latest and the most advanced video generation large language model (LLM). Successor to Veo 2, the model comes with several improvements in video quality. The most notable upgrade with this model is native audio generation. The video generator can add ambient sounds and natural, human-like dialogues to videos. The video duration has also increased, and now users can generate eight-second-long videos with the tool.

North Korean Hackers Use NimDoor macOS Malware to Target Web3, Crypto Platforms


North Korean hackers are using a special type of malware known as NimDoor to target macOS computers used at Web3 and crypto firms, according to details shared by a cybersecurity research firm. The threat actors are reportedly using bash scripts to collect and transfer sensitive information, such as browser data, iCloud Keychain credentials, and Telegram user data. The attacks rely on social engineering (via a chat platform) and malicious scripts or updates, like others linked to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

NimDoor Maintains Access After Malware Termination or System Reboot

Analysis of the NimDoor malware by Sentinel Labs shows that DPRK-linked threat actors are relying on a combination of malicious binaries and scripts that are written in three languages: C++, Nim, and AppleScript. These Nim-compiled binaries are reportedly being used to target Mac computers used in crypto and Web3 firms.

Victims are contacted via messaging apps like Telegram, and the hackers use social engineering to convince a person to join a call using a scheduling service like Calendly. In order to infect the victim’s system, the threat actor sends an email with a malicious “Zoom SDK update” script that installs the malware silently, while allowing it to communicate with a command and control (C2) server.

Once the malware is installed on the target’s Mac computer, the hackers execute bash (terminal) scripts to access and exfiltrate data from browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Arc, Brave, and Firefox. It can also steal iCloud Keychain credentials and Telegram user data from the target’s device.

The cybersecurity research firm also noted that the NimDoor malware feature a “signal-based persistence mechanism” (using SIGINT/SIGTERM handlers) to reinstall itself and continue operating on a target device, even if the malicious process it terminated, or the system is rebooted.

The firm also warns that threat actors are increasingly using less popular programming languages to target victims. Perplexity Max Introduced as the Company’s Most Expensive Subscription Plan Yet

In a blog post, the AI startup announced the new subscription tier and highlighted the benefits it comes with. Interestingly, with Perplexity Max, the company has now joined the ranks of OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, which have also introduced their $200 plans in recent months. This hyper-premium subscription model is becoming increasingly popular among Silicon Valley AI companies, and even smaller players such as Cursor have started offering similar subscriptions.

With Perplexity’s new plan, subscribers will get unlimited access to Perplexity Labs, the company’s new feature that lets users generate reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and web apps. It is currently only available to paid subscribers, and Pro users can access it with rate limits.

OnePlus Buds 4 Key Features Revealed Ahead of July 8 India Launch

The company has already confirmed some key specifications of the upcoming TWS earphones, including active noise cancellation (ANC) details and battery life. They are expected to succeed the OnePlus Buds 3, which were introduced in the country in early 2024.

OnePlus Buds 4 Key Features Revealed Ahead of India Launch

The OnePlus Buds 4 will be launched in India on July 8 at 2pm IST alongside the Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 handsets. All devices will go on sale in the country via the official e-store and Amazon. The TWS earphones are confirmed to come in Storm Grey and Zen Green colourways.

Amazon’s microsite for the OnePlus Buds 4 reveals that the earphones will carry 11mm woofers and 6mm tweeters alongside dual DAC units. They will support the LHDC 5.0 audio codec and immersive 3D Spatial Audio experience. The earphones will offer a Hi-Res Audio certification as well.

OnePlus has already confirmed that the Buds 4 will offer up to 55dB adaptive ANC, including a Transparency mode. The microsite now reveals that the TWS earphones will be equipped with a three-mic system, including a feed-forward, a feedback and a talk mic, for AI-backed call noise cancellation. 

The OnePlus Buds 4 earphones are said to provide real-time AI Translation with just a tap. The earphones support Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device connectivity, and Steady Connect technology, which is claimed to offer a stable Bluetooth connection, especially outdoors. They support a dedicated Gaming Mode with up to 47ms ultra-low latency, according to the company.

On a single charge, the OnePlus Buds 4 are claimed to last for up to 45 hours, with the charging case. The earbuds alone are said to provide a playback time of up to 11 hours on a single charge. The earphones support volume swipe control.

Nothing OS 4.0 Based on Android 16 to Release This Autumn, Confirms CEO Carl Pei



The Nothing Phone 3 was launched in India on Tuesday and the phone ships with Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.5 out-of-the-box. However, the UK-based startup teased the arrival of its Android 16 update during the launch event. The next iteration of the Android operating system was released by Google last month, but only Pixel devices have receiving the stable build. However, this recent teaser indicates that the Android 16 update could soon be on the cards for Nothing smartphones too.

Nothing OS 4.0 Release Date

Wrapping up the details about the Nothing Phone 3 in the launch video posted on the official Nothing YouTube channel, CEO Carl Pei said that the handset comes with Nothing OS 3.5. The company head further teased that it will begin shipping Nothing OS 4.0 based on Android 16 to devices “later this autumn”.

Thus, we can expect it to arrive between the period of September to November.

While details remain under wraps, the Nothing Phone 3 is expected to be the first handset from the company to receive the Android 16 update, considering it is the “first true flagship smartphone”.

Google released Android 16’s stable build following the I/O 2025 event last month. However, only Pixel handsets have started receiving the update, with other OEMs still testing the beta firmware. Carl Pei’s recent teaser indicates Nothing could soon join Google.

Notably, the Nothing OS 3.0 update, based on Android 15, was unveiled in September. It was announced in the same month as the global release of the OS. The update’s open beta commenced a month later, enabling users to experience the update and experiment with its new features before its public release in December.

The rollout took only a few weeks to reach all phones in Nothing’s portfolio. We can expect similar launch timelines for the Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 as well, once it launches in the autumn.

Honor MagicPad 3 was launched in China on Wednesday. The tablet arrives as the successor to last year’s MagicPad 2 and sports a 165Hz LCD screen with HDR10 certification. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of onboard storage. It ships with Honor’s Android 15-based operating system (OS). The Honor MagicPad 3 packs a 12,450mAh battery and supports SuperCharge fast charging technology.

The price of Honor MagicPad 3 starts at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 35,800) for the 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage configuration in China. It is also available in 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB variants, priced at CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 39,500) and CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 44,200), respectively. The top-end 16GB + 1TB configuration of the Honor MagicPad 3 is priced at CNY 4,199 (roughly Rs. 50,200).

Honor’s new tablet is available for purchase in China in three colour options — Moonlight White, Floating Gold, and Starry Gray.

The Honor MagicPad 3 runs on MagicOS 9.0.1 based on Android 15. It sports a 13.3-inch 3.2K (2,136 x 3,200 pixels) LCD screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness, and a 291ppi pixel density. The tablet has a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and measures 293.88 x 201.38 x 5.79mm in terms of dimensions. It weighs 595g.

Powering the Honor MagicPad 3 is Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of onboard storage.

For optics, the tablet comes with a dual rear camera unit which comprises a 13-megapixel main camera with an f/2.2 aperture and autofocus, and a 2-megapixel macro lens with an f/2.2 aperture. There’s also a 9-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls.

In the camera department, the standard Oppo Reno 14 5G is rumoured to pack a triple rear camera unit which comprises a 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.

Virginia Tech Engineers Craft Durable, Self‑Repairing, and Recyclable PCBs


A team of scientists has developed a new kind of self-healing circuit board that stays functional even after severe mechanical damage and can be reshaped or recycled entirely using heat. Infused with liquid metal and built using a polymer known as vitrimer, the new circuit boards could dramatically cut electronic waste and transform the durability of consumer electronics. Vitrimer retains the strength of traditional thermoset materials while allowing flexibility and repair, making it possible to reconfigure damaged boards without compromising electrical performance.

As per a study published in Advanced Materials on June 1, the boards were created by blending vitrimer with just 5% by volume of liquid metal droplets. This combination nearly doubled the material’s strain-at-break, or stretchability, compared to vitrimer alone. The embedded droplets are flexible as well, serving as flexible conductors in place of metal wiring used in traditional boards. Using a rheometer, tests showed the material was able to return to its original shape after heat-induced deformation ranging from 170°C to 200°C, which conventional epoxy-based thermosets cannot achieve.

Engineers also demonstrated that the material remains highly conductive and can recover its electrical function after being damaged. “Modern circuit boards simply cannot do this,” said Josh Worch, co-lead author of the study. His team designed the dynamic composite with the aim of building a circular economy around electronics. The design addresses a major environmental concern: most circuit boards today use thermosets that cannot be recycled and end up in landfills.

Electronic waste has more than doubled in 12 years, from 34 to 62 billion kilograms, as noted in a 2024 UN report. Despite containing valuable metals like gold, current boards are difficult to break down and reclaim due to the permanent nature of thermosetting plastics. The new vitrimer-based design, by contrast, allows for easy separation and reuse of materials. “Even if the board is damaged,” said Michael Bartlett, another co-lead author, “electrical performance will not suffer.”

More work needs to be done to improve the recovery of some elements, but the advance is a big step toward greener electronics, the researchers say. The technology could one day be in many different types of devices, from phones and laptops to wearables and TVs, changing the way devices are made, operated, and recycled.
