Facebook is reportedly asking users to share private media from their camera roll to Meta’s cloud servers. As per the report, a pop-up message requesting access appears when users upload a photo or a video to Stories. The social media giant reportedly says that by giving access, Meta AI will suggest collages and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered edits that they can post in Stories. However, it will reportedly also allow the company to analyse facial data and the presence of objects and people in these media files.

According to a TechCrunch report, some users have begun seeing a new pop-up message when posting Stories on the Facebook app. Based on an image of the message shared by the publication, Meta wants to access media from a user’s camera roll to recommend AI-powered collages, restyling tools, recaps, and occasion-based posts such as birthdays and anniversaries.

However, for Meta to be able to make these suggestions, users will have to give it access to their unshared images and videos that are saved on their devices. The message states, “To create ideas for you, we’ll select media from your camera roll and upload it to our cloud on an ongoing basis, based on info like time, location or themes.”

To reassure users about any privacy concerns, the company adds that only the user will see these suggestions, and users’ media will not be used for ad targeting. However, by accepting this, users will also agree to Meta’s AI terms, which state that “Media and facial features can be analysed by Meta AI.” Additionally, the AI models will also collect data such as date and the presence of people or objects.

Meta’s public affairs manager, Ryan Daniels, told The Verge that the company is not going to train its AI models with the unpublished photos and videos. The company’s communications manager, Maria Cubeta, told the publication that the feature is entirely opt-in and that “These suggestions are opt-in only and only shown to you – unless you decide to share them – and can be turned off at any time. Camera roll media may be used to improve these suggestions, but are not used to improve AI models in this test”

Additionally, the report stated that while the opt-in only lets Meta retrieve media files from the last 30 days, however, suggestions based on themes, such as pets and weddings, could include media older than 30 days.

On the surface, it appears Meta has checked all the privacy concern boxes that users might have. However, the company’s phrasing makes it seem that the decision of not training AI models on users’ camera roll only applies for this “test,” and this can change in the future with a wider rollout. At this time, Meta has not explicitly said that it will never train models on this media or use the data to improve them.

Vivo X Fold 5 was recently unveiled in China and the company is now teasing its India launch. The Chinese smartphone maker should announce the exact launch date soon. The Indian variant is expected to be similar to its Chinese counterpart. The handset features an 8.03-inch flexible inner screen and a 6.53-inch cover display, both using 8T LTPO technology. The Vivo X Fold 5 measures about 9.2mm in thickness when folded and 4.3mm when unfolded. Vivo recently teased the India launch of the X200 FE handset as well.

Vivo X Fold 5 India Launch

Vivo has teased the upcoming India launch of the X Fold 5 foldable phone in an X post. The exact launch date of the smartphone is expected to be announced soon. A Flipkart banner has confirmed that the foldable handset will be available in the country via the e-commerce site. 

An official landing page for the Vivo X Fold 5 revealed that the handset will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging support, similar to the Chinese version. It is claimed to meet the IP5X dust resistance rating as well as IPX8+IPX9 ratings for water resistance.

The Vivo X Fold 5 is said to feature freeze resistance up to –20°C. It sports a Carbon Fibre Support Hinge, which is reportedly tested for 600,000 folds. It will measure 9.2mm in thickness when folded and 4.3mm when unfolded. The Indian variant of the smartphone will weigh 217g.

For optics, the Vivo X Fold 5, similar to the existing Chinese variant, will be equipped with a Zeiss-backed triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor. The handset will also support AI Image Studio features. Additionally, it will include a Shortcut Button for quick access to sound modes, torch, camera, notes, recording, and more.

Alongside the telephoto shooter, the triple rear camera unit of the Vivo X Fold 5 carries a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. The smartphone features 20-megapixel front-facing cameras on both the inner and outer screens. It sports an 8.03-inch inner screen and a 6.53-inch cover display. The handset is backed by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC coupled with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM.

WhatsApp is said to be developing a new feature for its iOS app which aims to simplify the ability to handle multiple accounts on one iPhone. Earlier this year, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform was reported to be working on multi-account support for iOS devices. Building upon this, a feature tracker claims WhatsApp for iOS will add a new section in settings that shows all of the accounts signed in on the iPhone and quickly switch between them.

Switching Between Multiple Accounts on WhatsApp

According to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, Meta Platforms’ messaging client is developing a multi-account feature for release on a future version of the app. It was spotted on WhatsApp for iOS beta app version 25.19.10.74. Following its introduction, the feature is speculated to let users quickly switch between different accounts, personal or business, on an iPhone.

The accompanying screenshot suggests that WhatsApp will add a new Account List page in settings. It is said to function as a centralised hub for managing multiple accounts on the device. Users are expected to be able to add or remove accounts, see their profile picture and status for easy identification, and switch between them — all from the Account List page.

When the user selects a specific account, WhatsApp will load the chat history tied to it, and change the settings and preferences. As per the feature tracker, this includes auto-download setting, notification tones, and backup preferences. Further, switching between accounts does not require logging out of WhatsApp or an app restart.

Additionally, the instant messaging platform is also said to be developing a new method of handling notifications across multiple accounts on the same device. When a notification from the secondary account is received when the user is logged into the primary one, WhatsApp will reportedly display the name of the sender along with the account name. Tapping on the notification will automatically switch WhatsApp to the secondary account and the relevant conversation.

As per WABetaInfo, both of these features are still under development and are not available, even to beta testers registered via Apple’s TestFlight programme.

Samsung Galaxy A55 5G was launched in India in March 2024 alongside the Galaxy A35 5G. The smartphone runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out-of-the-box. It is promised to receive four generations of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. It was recently spotted on a popular benchmarking site with Android 16, suggesting that the handset may soon get the One UI 8 beta update. The Galaxy A55 5 G is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1480 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy A55 5G May Receive One UI 8 Beta Update Soon

A handset with the model number Samsung SM-A556E, which is of the Galaxy A55 5G, has appeared on Geekbench. The listing shows that the phone runs on Android 16. This suggests that Samsung may be testing the latest One UI 8 on the phone. Users with the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G smartphone are likely to receive the One UI 8 beta update soon.

Notably, the Galaxy A55 5G recently received the official stable One UI 7 update based on Android 15. Earlier this month, Samsung rolled out the One UI 8 Beta 2 update for the Galaxy S25 series in select countries. 

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G ships with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 and will receive four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates. It is powered by an Exynos 1480 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM. The phone supports up to 256GB of onboard storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card.

In the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G gets a 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens and a 5-megapixel macro shooter at the back. The handset sports a 6.6-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits of peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 25W support.

The 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB RAM and storage configurations of the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G were launched in India priced at Rs. 32,999, Rs. 42,999, and Rs. 45,999, respectively.

Samsung issued an advisory on Saturday to compatible Galaxy device users, encouraging them to activate the latest anti-theft features. The South Korean tech giant highlighted the rising cases of mobile theft and emphasised that the existing security features and the new ones added via the One UI 7 update will enable users to better protect their data and their device. The company recently started an awareness drive in the UK in partnership with the UK Home Office.

Samsung Brings New Anti-Robbery Features via One UI 7

In a newsroom post, Samsung highlighted that it is expanding the list of devices that are getting the updated anti-theft features and the new anti-robbery features with the One UI 7 update. These features were first released to the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, and are now available for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and the Z Flip 5. The company said more devices will be equipped with these features by the end of 2025.

The OS update introduced Theft Protection, Samsung’s new suite of security features. The suite will comprise existing features such as Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock, and Remote Lock, as well as new anti-robbery features such as Identity Check and Security Delay.

Notably, the South Korean tech giant highlights that the Theft Protection suite is built on the Android-powered safeguards, which are effective in scenarios where the thief does not know the device’s PIN. Additionally, One UI 7 also adds new features for more critical scenarios where the credentials might have been exposed to the robber.

Samsung’s anti-robbery features are aimed at the latter. Identity Check locks sensitive security settings behind a biometric authentication when the device is in an unfamiliar location. With this, even if the PIN is exposed, the user can ensure the data is not compromised. Another such feature is Security Delay, which triggers a one-hour waiting period if someone attempts to reset the biometric data of a device. In case a device is stolen, this buffer allows users to remotely lock the phone from a connected device (such as a PC or a tablet), before the bad actor can access the settings.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra, with a Leica-branded rear camera and Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, was launched in India in March. Now, rumours about its potential successor, Xiaomi 16 Ultra, have started appearing on the Web. Xiaomi is said to pack a new camera sensor in the upcoming Ultra phone. The Xiaomi 16 Ultra is expected to go official early next year and is likely to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. 

Tipster Kartikey Singh on X has suggested that Xiaomi could use SmartSens camera components for the Xiaomi 16 Ultra. The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra has an SC5A0CS camera sensor, developed by SmartSens. This 1-inch primary lens is likely to be used in the upcoming Xiaomi flagship as well. The brand is speculated to use the new sensor as a replacement for the Sony LYT-900.

Xiaomi has been using camera sensors made by Sony, Samsung and OmniVision on its flagship models. However, the new leak suggests that the tech giant is planning a switch in this aspect.

The existing Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a Leica-backed quad rear camera unit headlined by a 50-megapixel primary Sony LYT-900 sensor with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). The camera unit also includes a 50-megapixel ultrawide shooter, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 telephoto camera with OIS and a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP9 periscope telephoto camera.

We’ll likely get a clearer picture of Xiaomi’s roadmap next year, with the Xiaomi 16 Ultra expected to launch in early 2026. The upcoming flagship is anticipated to feature Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Price in India, Specifications

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra was introduced in the Chinese market in February and made its way to India in March with a price tag of Rs. 1,09,999 for the single 16GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a 6.73-inch WQHD+ (1,440×3,200 pixels) quad curved LTPO AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It gets a 32-megapixel front camera sensor for selfies and video calls. The phone packs a 5,410mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless fast charging support. It has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was confirmed at Xbox Games Showcase and is set for a full reveal this summer. Before Activision could share official updates, however, details about the game’s new multiplayer modes have leaked on the Call of Duty app. The leak features four alleged images from a Black Ops 7 internal playtest, two of which show new modes: a 20v20 wingsuit mode and a 6v6 mode. The leak also features screenshots of gameplay from the two new modes.

Black Ops 7 Modes Leak

Popular Call of Duty news portal CharlieIntel posted about the leaks on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, sharing four screenshots from a developer-only Black Ops 7 internal playtest. According to CharlieIntel, the images were part of a developer ‘message of the day’ for Black Ops 7 that accidentally went live on the Xbox Call of Duty app.

The leak features screenshots of two new multiplayer game modes coming to the game: Skirmish, a 20v20 wingsuit mode where two teams fight to complete objectives across a large map, and Overload, where two teams of six players each compete to control an EMP device that must be delivered to enemy HQ.

“An internal, developer only Black Ops 7 play test was set to begin this weekend. They accidentally pushed the message of the day to everyone on Xbox on the Call of Duty app, instead,” CharlieIntel claimed in their X post.

The official description of the Skirmish mode as seen in the screenshot reads: “Two teams of 20 fight to complete objectives across a large map. Capture points of interest, destroy payloads, and transmit valuable data to score. Use your wingsuit to flank and reach objectives before your enemy. The first team to reach the score limit wins!”

The 6v6 Overload mode is described as: “Two teams of six players each fight to control a neutral EMP device that must be delivered to the enemy HQ for score. Reach the score limit and claim victory by delivering multiple EMP devices!”

Activision has not yet detailed all modes coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 multiplayer but has said the game will feature an “innovative” co-op campaign and a “signature” multiplayer experience with new maps. The popular Zombies mode will return, as well. A full reveal for Black Ops 7 is slated for this summer.

The next Call of Duty is being developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and will be the first-ever consecutive Black Ops release. The game will follow the events of Black Ops 2, set over 40 years after the events of last year’s Black Ops 6, with David Mason returning as the protagonist. The game is set to launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X later this year. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass day one.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus may launch in India soon. While an exact launch date is yet to be revealed, the tablet has appeared on the Amazon India website. The listing reveals the design and key features of the upcoming tablet. which was first unveiled at CES 2025 in January. The tablet comes with a 12.7-inch 3K display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, and a 10,200mAh battery with fast charging support. The Yoga Tab Plus is compatible with the Lenovo Tab Pen Pro and a keyboard with a dedicated AI key.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Listed on Amazon India

The design and key features of the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus have appeared on an Amazon India microsite. Price and availability details have not been revealed yet. The tablet is shown in a Tidal Teal colourway with a dual-tone finish. It is listed to be equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, featuring Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU and Adreno GPU, and is claimed to deliver up to 20 TOPS of AI performance.

The Amazon microsite for the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus reveals that it supports 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offers 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 onboard storage. It will run Android 14 out-of-the-box and is confirmed to receive OS upgrades up to Android 17, along with four years of security updates through 2029.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus sports a 12.7-inch 3K (2,944×1,840 pixels) anti-reflection PureSightPro display with a 144Hz refresh rate, up to 900 nits of peak brightness level, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, and Delta E<1 for colour accuracy.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus supports the Lenovo Tab Pen Pro, which features a 1.4mm tip and haptic feedback. It also comes with a keyboard that includes a multi-gesture trackpad and a shortcut key for Lenovo AI Now. Supported AI features include Lenovo AI Note and Live Transcript.

In the camera department, the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus features a 13-megapixel front sensor and a 13-megapixel primary rear sensor, accompanied by a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The tablet includes a six-speaker system, including four woofers and two tweeters. You also get Dolby Atmos support and sound tuned by Harman Kardon.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus offers Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity. A 3-point pogo pin connector is also provided for the keyboard. The power key doubles as a fingerprint sensor for biometrics. The tablet packs a 10,200mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging support. It measures 188.30×290.91×8.52mm and weighs 640g.

Samsung’s next Unpacked event is scheduled for July 9, and the South Korean tech giant is believed to announce the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 at the event. Just days ahead of the formal reveal, a leak has surfaced hinting at some of the key specifications of the next-generation foldable phones. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be 8.9mm thick when folded and is tipped to come with a 6.5-inch cover display along with an 8-inch internal screen. The Galaxy Z Flip 7, on the other hand, is said to feature a 4.1-inch cover display and a 6.9-inch internal display. It is said to pack a 4,300mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Specifications (Leaked)

Weibo tipster Setsuna Digital (translated from Chinese) has shared alleged specifications of the unannounced Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. As per the leak, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. It is said to have a 6.5-inch external display and an 8-inch internal screen. The phone is expected to feature an aluminium frame and a glass ceramic back panel.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is tipped to feature a 10-megapixel selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view. It could measure 4.2mm in the unfolded state and 8.9mm when folded. It is said to weigh 215g. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 12.1mm thick in the folded state and 5.6mm in the unfolded form while weighing 239 grams. The recently launched Vivo X Fold 5 measures 9.2mm in thickness when folded and 4.3mm when unfolded.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Specifications (Leaked)

The tipster claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a 4.1-inch cover screen and a 6.9-inch inner display. This would be an upgrade over the 3.4-inch outer screen and 6.7-inch main screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Both screens are said to offer a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2,600 nits.

Samsung is said to pack a 4,300mAh battery in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, up from 4,000mAh on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The upcoming clamshell foldable phone is said to measure 13.7mm when closed and 6.5mm when unfolded. It could weigh 188g. The existing model measures 14.9mm and 6.9mm thick in the folded and unfolded forms, respectively.

The upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for July 9. Besides the next generation foldables, the event is expected to see the launch of new earphones and Galaxy smartwatches. Samsung has also started pre-reservations for the new Galaxy products in India.

Gmail on Web has introduced a new page which makes it easier to manage your subscriptions. Listed as Manage Subscriptions, it appears in the left-hand toolbar of the web client and shows all of the newsletters and mailing lists you have subscribed to in the past. Alongside, the Gmail for Android app is has reportedly added a new option to mark emails as read directly from the notification window.

The new Manage Subscriptions on the Gmail web client (first spotted by Android Authority) allows users to unsubscribe to any of the newsletters or mailing lists they are not interested in anymore. The new page shows the service name, domain name, and the number of emails recently received in a list form.

There is also an Unsubscribe option next to each listing which, as the name suggests, lets them quickly unsubscribe from the service. While the same option appears at the top of each promotional email too, the Manage Subscriptions page acts as a one-stop shop and eliminates the need of opening an email from a specific sender and unsubscribing to them individually.

However, the web client notes that it may take senders a few days to stop sending emails even after you have unsubscribed to them. Notably, this feature was first spotted in April and was initially introduced on the Gmail for Android app. Gadgets 360 staff can confirm its presence on the Gmail web client.

‘Mark as Read’ in Notifications

Alongside the ability to manage subscriptions on the web, Gmail for Android app is said to be receiving a feature which makes it easier to mark notifications as read. According to an Android Authority report, there is a new Mark as Read option on the Gmail for Android app. It appears in the notification window alongside the existing Reply option and quickly lets users mark unread emails as read.

However, Gadgets 360 staff was unable to access it, even after updating the Gmail for Android app to the latest version. It is reported to be a part of an A/B testing, also known as split testing, with a small number of users and on an account-by-account basis. Notably, this ability is already present on Gmail’s iOS counterpart.
