Vodafone Idea (Vi) 5G Services Rolled Out in Mysuru, Subscribers to Get Unlimited 5G Data on Some Plans

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has rolled out 5G services in Mysuru, the telecom operator announced on Friday. A month after the company introduced 5G services in Bengaluru, it announced that subscribers in Mysuru with 5G smartphones will have access to unlimited 5G data, as part of an introductory offer. Vi worked with Samsung to launch its 5G network in the city, and the telco also said that it is working on improving network coverage by deploying additional spectrum across various sites in the state.

Vi Introduces 5G Networks in Mysuru a Month After Launch in Bengaluru

Weeks after the launch of 5G services in Bengaluru, Vi announced that it 5G network was now accessible to subscribers in Mysuru. Vi now offers 5G services in six cities: Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Patna. The operator has acquired 5G spectrum in these circles, enabling it to offer improved connectivity to subscribers.

The telco partnered with Samsung to deploy its 5G network in Mysuru, and says it will use the South Korean tech conglomerate’s AI-powered Self-Organizing Networks (SON) technology, which are claimed to offer optimised performance, and an energy-efficient network infrastructure.

Users in Mysuru will have access to unlimited 5G data on Vi’s network, if they have signed up for plans that start at Rs. 299. However, the network provider has also clarified that this is part of an introductory offer.

Vi says it plans to introduce its 5G services in other cities, and cover 17 circles, as part of the initial rollout. Its existing 4G network in Karnataka was upgraded with additional spectrum, between March 2024 and May 2025.

Other cities that will get access to Vi’s 5G network include Ahmedabad, Agra, Aurangabad, Kozhikode, Cochin, Dehradun, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Malappuram, Meerut, Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Rajkot, Sonepat, Surat, Siliguri, Trivandrum, Vadodara, and Vizag.

The telecom operator lags behind its biggest rivals. Airtel and Reliance Jio first launched their 5G services in select cities in October 2022, expanding to several other cities in subsequent years. As a result, it could take several months (or years) before Vi catches up to its rivals.

YouTube Trending Page To Shut Down On July 21, 10 Years After Its Launch

YouTube has announced that it will remove the Trending Page that lists the top trending videos on its platform nearly 10 years after it was rolled out in 2015. The company claims that over the last five years, visits to the Trending Page have significantly dropped as the people have started discovering content from different places across its platform. The company has also highlighted that moving forward users will be able to find the most popular YouTube videos in specific categories on YouTube Charts.

According to a blog post on Google’s YouTube Help page, the video streaming platform will be removing the Trending Page, along with its Trending Now list, nearly 10 years after it was first launched in 2015. However, Google’s YouTube Trending Page Help Center has revealed that the Trending Page will be shut down on July 21.

The company cites a significant decrease in visits from viewers to the Trending Page in the last five years due to a shift in user behaviour. In the blog post, it highlighted that people have increasingly started learning about trends from different places on YouTube, such as the recommendations and search suggestions to Shorts, comments, and Communities.

YouTube has also mentioned, in the blog post, that moving forward, viewers will be able to find popular content in specific categories on YouTube Charts. However, it is to be noted that YouTube Charts is currently only available for YouTube music. As per the blog post, people can explore YouTube Charts for Trending Music Videos, Weekly Top Podcast Shows, and Trending Movie Trailers. In the coming future, the company will add more content categories to Charts eventually. For gaming videos, YouTube will continue to trending videos on the Gaming Explore page.

Apart from YouTube Charts, the company will also give personalised recommendations to videos for viewers. The company claims that this would enable it to show a “wider range of popular content” that is relevant to different individuals. Moreover, users can visit YouTube’s Explore Page, specific creators’ channels, and their subscriptions feed to find content that is not personalised.

Creators have been using the YouTube Trending Page to promote their channels and boast on other social media platforms about the ranking of their latest videos on the same. Additionally, they have also used the Trending Page as a means of keeping up with the latest trends, creating content based on what is being watched the most. For them, YouTube said, the Inspiration tab in YouTube Studio will continue to provide personalised ideas.

Recently, YouTube also announced that it is updating its monetisation rules to rein in mass-produced content and inauthentic videos. The video streaming company is attempting to improve its process of identifying inauthentic and repetitive videos to evaluate them and likely reduce the monetary compensation. The new policy will come into effect starting July 15.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Reportedly Launching a Marketplace for AI Agents

Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing platform of the tech giant, is reportedly planning to launch a marketplace for artificial intelligence (AI) agents. As per the report, the company could launch the marketplace next week at its AWS Summit event in New York, which will be held on July 15. San Francisco-based AI firm Anthropic is said to be a partner for this new service. With this, AWS will reportedly directly allow its users to search, download, and install AI agents built for specific use cases.

AWS to Launch an AI Agent Marketplace Next Week

According to a TechCrunch report, the cloud computing giant is adding an AI agent marketplace as a new service for its enterprise users. Citing unnamed individuals familiar with the matter, the publication claimed that the marketplace will be launched on July 15 in New York during an AWS Summit event.

This marketplace will reportedly allow developers and startups to directly offer their AI agents to enterprises that use AWS. This new platform will allow AWS users to browse, search, and install AI agents from a single interface, the report added. Users are said to be able to look for agents based on their functionality.

While the report mentions Anthropic as one of the partners for this service, it did not mention the role the AI firm will play. However, it is likely that Anthropic will also list its AI agents on the platform.

There are several details currently not known about this marketplace. For instance, it is unclear whether the platform will have a subscription-based revenue model or will follow an à la carte-style payment system. The revenue system for the developers and startups offering their AI agents is also not known. Another question is whether these AI agents can work within a local network or have to be connected to AWS the entire time.

Notably, AI agents are essentially large language models with tool use that can autonomously perform certain tasks. These agents can not only assist humans in their tasks, but can also execute actions independently. AWS is reportedly also building an in-house AI coding agent, dubbed Kiro. This agent could be launched at the event as well.

Ghost of Yotei Gameplay Deep Dive Reveals Clues-Based Exploration, Combat a New Game Modes

Sony and Sucker Punch presented a gameplay deep dive for Ghost of Yotei at a dedicated State of Play livestream Thursday, detailing the game’s clues-based exploration and questing, combat and weapons, special game modes, and much more. After the nearly 20-minute-long presentation, the PlayStation parent also revealed a limited-edition Ghost of Yotei PS5 bundle, featuring new console and DualSense controller designs.

Ghost of Yotei Gameplay Deep Dive

In the first extended look at Ghost of Yotei’s gameplay hosted by creative directors Jason Connell and Nate Fox, developer Sucker Punch shared more details about how players will go about exacting revenge on the Yotei Six, the infamous group of bandits who killed Atsu’s family and left her for dead. In a departure from 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima, the developer described Atsu, the new protagonist, as neither a samurai nor a ninja, but a “lone wolf mercenary” ready to pick up any weapon or trick to get the better of her enemies.

Sucker Punch emphasised that Ghost of Yotei focuses on player freedom more than any of its previous games. The game will feature an exploration style that differs from other open-world games. The action-adventure game features a clue system that informs players of interesting areas to explore, quests to take on, and more. Players can interrogate defeated foes to unlock new clues about their next target, leading them to new areas of the map.

This clue system is represented via cards that help players keep track of their quests and tasks. The game also features a bounty hunting system that goes both ways. As Atsu’s legend grows, the price on her head goes up, attracting other bounty hunters to track her down. Atsu, too, can also pick up bounties and go after wanted outlaws for rewards.

The grappling hook from Ghost of Tsushima returns, but this time players also get a spyglass to spot interesting landmarks on the horizon and spy on enemies in a camp. Sucker Punch also provided a glimpse at some new and returning side activities, including hot springs, a new sketching activity, bamboo strikes, and a new tabletop game.

Ghost of Yotei New Weapons, Game Modes

At the State of Play livestream, the studio also detailed the combat in Ghost of Yotei. Atsu can take her pick of melee weapons from a katana, a spear, a kusarigama, an odachi, or even dual wield swords. All weapons play distinctly and are effective against specific foes in combat, Sucker Punch said. She also has access to ranged weapons like bows and rifles and a variety of thrown weapons like bombs, kunai and blinding powder to give her an edge in combat.

The livestream also confirmed that Atsu will be accompanied by a host of allies in her journey, including a mysterious wolf who can aid her in encounters. And much like Red Dead Redemption 2, Atsu can put down a camp anywhere in the open world to rest, cook, play music and check in with various allies that provide her with upgrades.

Sucker Punch also detailed the various modes that will be available at launch. The black-and-white mode inspired by the films of Akira Kurosawa returns. The game will also pay homage two other Japanese filmmakers, Takashi Miike and Samurai Champloo director Shinichirō Watanabe, by adding two new modes that change the game’s visual and audio experience for players.

Ghost of Yotei is set to launch exclusively on PS5 on October 2. The game is currently available to pre-order on PlayStation Store.

Tesla to Begin India Operations With Experience Centre Opening in Mumbai’s BKC on July 15: Report

Tesla is set to enter India’s electric vehicle (EV) market with its first showroom opening in Mumbai this month, according to a report. In recent years, the Elon Musk-owned company faced several hurdles, including regulations and high import taxes, which raised question marks over its arrival in the country. However, its long-awaited foray is finally on the verge of happening, with the first Tesla Experience Centre reportedly set to be inaugurated in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).

Tesla’s First Showroom in India

According to a Reuters report, Tesla sent out an invitation to the media on Thursday for the launch of the first Tesla Experience Centre in India, established at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai, on July 15. The US-based automotive company is said to have imported EVs, chargers, and other accessories worth $1 million (roughly Rs. 8.57 crore) from China and the US, for sale in the Indian market.

Tesla’s fleet of vehicles that will be sold in India reportedly includes six Model Y models, having a shipment value of $32,500 (roughly Rs. 28 lakh) each, whereas the long-range version of the same vehicle is valued at $46,000 (roughly Rs. 39 lakh).

The imported stock also includes several Tesla Superchargers, which are expected to be strategically installed near amenities. On vehicles that are imported, the company is expected to pay import duties and other levied charges of about 70 percent. However, it remains to be seen whether the recent changes in import duty have any effect on the pricing of the Tesla EVs.

As per previous reports, the company has set a target price tag of under $25,000 (roughly Rs. 22 lakh) for its first car. Meanwhile, the Tesla Model 3 is its most affordable car in the global and US markets, with a base price of $40,000 (roughly Rs. 35 lakh).

Reports indicate that the Tesla Experience Centre at commercial district in Mumbai will occupy a space of approximately 4,000 square feet. It is likely to be located on the ground floor of a commercial tower. For this location, the EV company is reportedly paying a rent close to Rs. 900 per square feet, totalling almost Rs. 35 lakh per month.

After Mumbai, Tesla is expected to establish its second Experience Centre in India at Delhi’s Aerocity complex. Meanwhile, its sales are expected to begin in Q3 2025, beginning with Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai.

Google’s Veo 3 in Gemini Upgraded With Image to Video Generation Capability

Google is now improving the functionality of its Veo 3 video generation model with the inclusion of image-to-video generation. On Thursday, the Mountain View-based tech giant announced that eligible users will now be able to add images as input and generate videos based on them using Veo 3. Notably, this feature is currently available via Gemini’s web interface, and the mobile apps do not support it. Currently, Google is releasing this capability in select countries, but it has not specified the names of these countries.

Veo 3 Can Now Generate Videos Using Image Input

In a blog post, the tech giant announced that Veo 3 will now support image inputs while generating videos. This means users can create artificial intelligence (AI) videos of any reference image they like. There is some confusion regarding its availability, as Google has only said that it is being released in “select countries.” Gadgets 360 staff members were able to confirm that the feature has not yet rolled out in India.

veo3 image india Veo 3

Veo 3’s image-to-video generation feature is not available in India

Those who get access to this new feature can go to the Gemini website, select the “Video” chip located underneath the text box, and an option to add photos should now be visible. Here, users can add the reference image and write a prompt detailing how they would like to animate the video, and the Veo 3 model takes care of the rest.

Google also shared a demo video highlighting the range of complexity one can add to their prompts. In the short video, Veo 3 took an image of a cardboard box and generated videos of a hamster cooking a meal inside it, a man jumping inside the box, and a lift coming out of it.

Notably, all videos generated using Gemini will include a visible watermark to highlight that these are not real videos, as well as an invisible watermark added using Google’s SynthID technology. The latter cannot be cropped out, edited, or removed via any other means. These only show up in special software designed to read the watermark.

Veo 3 is currently available in 154 countries and territories globally. The video generation model can be accessed via the Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscriptions. The Ultra subscription, which costs $200 (roughly Rs. 17,200) a month, is only available in the US.

Microsoft Rolls Out Black Screen of Death, More Features to Windows 11 Insiders in Release Preview Channel

Microsoft has begun rolling out the new Black Screen of Death (BSOD) with the latest update in the Release Preview Channel for Windows 11 Insiders. It replaces the infamous Blue Screen of Death that users have faced in times of a critical error in the operating system. The update also has several new features in tow such as Draft with Copilot in Word, Quick machine recovery for detecting and fixing issues, and a Click-to-Do action dubbed Practice in Reading Coach.

Black Screen of Death in Windows 11

Microsoft detailed the changes coming to Windows 11 with the latest build in a blog post. As per the company, users will see a more streamlined interface during an expected restart. The design of the page is in line with the visual style of the Redmond-based tech giant’s latest operating system and “ helps you return to work faster”.windows error

The Black Screen of Death has a more readable layout with a black background that displays visible technical details.

Notably, this error usually appears due to an issue with a hardware device, its driver, or software. It results in an unexpected Windows shutdown that happens to mitigate data loss, as per Microsoft. An error message is displayed on the screen saying, “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart”.

Other New Features

The latest Windows 11 build also carries several more features. Quick machine recovery can automatically detect and fix widespread issues on Windows 11 devices, as per Microsoft. It uses the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to do so. The tech giant claims it reduces downtime and eliminates the need for manual fixes.

Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) will now have access to an additional capability in the Recall feature where it can export snapshots via a Recall export code, for sharing with third-party apps and websites. Globally, the tech giant lets users reset the Recall feature and its data.

Microsoft has also introduced a Click-to-Do action called Practice Reading in Coach. As the name suggests, it enables you to select text on the screen and choose the feature to read it aloud. This feature is available via the Microsoft Reading Coach application on the Microsoft Store. Meanwhile, the Draft with Copilot in Word text action can turn recognised text into a draft.

There is another new text addition dubbed Read with Immersive Reader, which is claimed to improve reading and writing for “all skill levels and abilities”. Users can adjust text font, size, and spacing, to read the text aloud, highlight parts of the speech, and break words into syllables. Unfamiliar words are explained through pictures via a picture dictionary.

On Copilot+ PCs, a new AI agent has been added in Settings which supports natural language prompts. It is meant to make changing settings on the device easier. For example, users can ask “my mouse pointer is too small”, and the agent will provide the steps to resolve the issue. This feature is being introduced on Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, with support for AMD and Intel-powered PCs coming soon.
