“93,000 Pakistan Soldiers Surrendered…”: Shahid Afridi Blasted By World Boxing Medallist Gaurav Bidhuri Over Pahalgam

World championship medallist boxer Gaurav Bidhuri gave a fiery reply to former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi, whose comments on the Pahalgam terrorist attack have left many Indians infuriated. After the attack, in which 26 civilians lost their lives, Afridi appeared on Pakistani television and blamed India’s security forces, questioning their efficiency while also throwing negative light on India’s sportsmanship. Bidhuri, who won a bronze medal at the 2017 World Boxing Championships in Germany, defended the Indian forces and drew comparison between the state of sporting affairs in both countries while taking the example of the Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League.

CSK vs PBKS Live Updates, IPL 2025

“The entire country is still in shock over the attacks in Pahalgam and the steps taken by the Indian government have driven Pakistanis crazy. The interview by Shahid Afridi in which he talked about how eight lakh Indian soldiers could not do anything to stop the attack, I would like to remind you that in 1971, 93,000 Pakistani soldiers surrendered to our army so please don’t try to teach us about capability.

“When asking for proof, why should we prove anything to you. The entire world knows that Pakistan is supporting terrorist organisations. The proxy group of the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba ‘The Resistance Front’ has claimed responsibility for the attack.

“You were talking about sports diplomacy, so I would like to point out how recently Neeraj Chopra himself invited your Olympic champion Nadeem, so don’t talk to us about sportsmanship. You have your PSL; we have IPL. Please see where the world is playing; you talked about how you received threats in India. Please realise the world is playing here while no one is coming there. You’ve obviously gone crazy, but the world knows what Pakistan is,” Bidhuri told IANS.

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam has been one of the deadliest in Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama incident. The attack triggered global condemnation, and India has pointed towards Pakistan-backed terror outfits being responsible.

Speaking to Samaa TV, Afridi said, “Tum logon ki 8 lakh hi fauj hai Kashmir mein aur yeh ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log security de nahi sake logon ko (You have an 800,000-strong army in Kashmir and this still happened. It means you are inefficient and useless if you can’t provide security to the people).”

MS Dhoni’s Blockbuster Reply On Playing Next IPL For CSK: “I Don’t…”

Is MS Dhoni playing his last IPL? That is one question which is on everybody’s mind. MS Dhoni, under whom Chennai Super Kings won five IPL titles, has answered the question (well, sort of). Ahead of  CSK’s match against Punjab Kings in Chennai on Wednesday, there was a huge fanfare when MS Dhoni was about to speak at the toss. That led former New Zealand player Danny Morrison, commentating in the match, to ask Dhoni about his future.

“Does that mean, you are going to come back next year as well?” Danny Morrison asked MS Dhoni.

“I don’t know, I am coming for the next game (laughs),” MS Dhoni replied.

He went on to talk about CSK’s season so far, which has been forgettable in the IPL 2025. “One of the things is the pride factor. Majority of the games you play at home. Home advantage is very important which we haven’t been able to capitalise on. Same team. We’ve been a side where we don’t make a lot of changes. But this season we’ve made a lot of changes. Reason is simple. If most of your players are doing well, then you chop and change 1-2 players. But this season it hasn’t worked for us. It’s also the first season after a fresh auction. So you have something in mind but you have to see where a batter is suited better.”

CSK on the other hand will be eliminated from the tournament with a loss on the night. The home side currently lingers at the bottom of the points table having won only two of their nine games in the campaign.

Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to field against Chennai Super Kings in match 49 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Prabhsimran Singh and Glenn Maxwell make way for Harpreet Brar and Suryansh Shedge for Punjab Kings. Chennai Super Kings are playing with the same XI.

After their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders got washed out, Punjab will be hoping to get a win in hopes of staying alive in the race for the top four.

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer said, “We’re going to bowl first. We’ll focus on our process. Our preparations have been intact. Boys are in high spirits and looking forward for a great game. Unfortunate that he’s got a fractured finger. Haven’t decided on a replacement so far.”

Former RAW chief to head revamped national security advisory board

Former RAW chief to head revamped national security advisory board

NEW DELHI: Days after the Pahalgam terror attack, in which a Pakistan link has emerged during investigations, the Centre has reconstituted the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB), appointing former RAW chief Alok Joshi as its chairman and 14 other domain experts that include ex-commanders from the three armed forces, former diplomats, officers and technocrats.
NSAB, tasked with undertaking long-term analysis of and providing perspective to the Prime Minister-led National Security Council on issues related to national security, now has 15 serving members. The other new members appointed are former Western Air Commander Air Marshal P M Sinha, former Southern Army Commander Lt Gen A K Singh and Rear Admiral (Retd) Monty Khanna, former IPS officers Rajiv Ranjan Verma and Manmohan Singh, and former diplomat B Venkatesh Varma. NSAB also comprises technical experts like Prof K Kamakoti and B S Murthy.
The board is reconstituted from time to time, with appointments usually for a two-year term. The members’ tenures do not run concurrently.
The decision to get Joshi, a top intelligence brain – who served in the Intelligence Bureau before he joined RAW and retired as its director, and then went on to head the country’s technical intelligence agency, National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO), post-retirement – to lead the NSAB comes at a time when India is bracing to give a befitting response to Pakistan for continuing to sponsor terrorism in J&K by facilitating recurrent attacks on innocent civilians, the Pahalgam carnage by Pakistani terrorists, facilitated by local Kashmir aides, being the most recent.
With the carnage being seen as an intelligence failure, bringing in Joshi, in place of ex-ambassador to Russia P S Raghavan who has been at the helm for almost 8-9 years now, is seen as a clear move to focus the national security policy on revamping intelligence gathering and analysis to foil any future terror misadventures by Pakistani elements.

Heartbreak at Attari: Couples separated, kids left behind | India News

Heartbreak at Attari: Couples separated, kids left behind

ATTARI: Cradling her 14-day-old infant, Sara Khan stood at the Attari-Wagah border in her washroom slippers, holding back tears. A resident of PoK, she had been living in India since 2017 after marrying Aurangzeb Khan from J&K. “I had a C-section recently. My stitches haven’t healed. Doctors advised me not to travel,” Sara said Wednesday as her pleas to stay with her family in J&K, citing her newborn’s Indian citizenship, went unanswered.
Sara is among dozens of Pak nationals – mostly women married to Indian men – who have been forced to leave India in the wake of a govt directive issued after Pahalgam attack. The directive has triggered scenes of heartbreak, confusion, and uncertainty at Attari.
Anjum Tanveer, father of a two-year-old Ayeza, was told his wife Attiya Aslam – a Pak national from Gujranwala – must leave India despite four years of marriage. “She was summoned for verification on April 28, and we were told her visa stands revoked,” said Anjum, who will now have to play mother to Ayeza. “Punish the terrorists, yes, but why must innocent families suffer?”
Then there’s a story of heartbreak for Kashmir’s Aamir and Pakistan’s Hajra who got married just two days ago. “One day, I brought my wife home with joy, and the next, she was told to leave – it all happened so suddenly,” said Aamir.

Karnataka Driver Stops Bus To Offer Namaz, Probe Ordered After Complaints

Bengaluru:

The driver of a state transport bus in Karnataka has landed in trouble after stopping the bus on the roadside to offer namaz. An inquiry has been ordered after a video of him at prayer was widely circulated.

In the video, the man can be seen perched on a seat, offering prayers, the bus parked on the shoulder of the road while traffic thunders by. The handful of passengers in the bus can be seen watching helplessly. Some kept recording the situation on their cellphones.

The incident took place at the Huballi Haveri Marg near Javeri on Tuesday evening.

Sources said some of the passengers have complained after the incident and the Karnataka State Transport Corporation has started an inquiry. The department said action will be taken after the investigation.

The state’s transport minister Ramalinga Reddy was stern. In a letter to the manager of the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation, he wrote, “The staff working in a public service has to follow certain rules and regulations compulsorily”.

“Even though everyone has a right to practice any religion, they can do so except during office hours. It is objectionable to perform namaz by stopping the bus midway even though there are passengers travelling in the bus,” letter read.

“It is instructed to conduct immediate inquiry into the said viral video and to take disciplinary action if the staff found guilty. Action should be taken to prevent recurring of these types of incidents in future,” the minister added.
