Google has announced it will modify its performance rating system to reward high performers with larger bonuses and equity awards, while potentially reducing compensation for lower-performing staff.
In an email titled “Strengthening our performance culture,” John Casey, Google’s vice president of global compensation and benefits, informed employees that more of them will have the opportunity to achieve the “Outstanding Impact” rating during annual reviews.
“High performance is more important than ever to achieve the goals we’ve set,” Casey wrote, noting that the changes are being made to “further reward top contributors” at the company.

The changes specifically affect Google’s annual review system known as Googler Reviews and Development (GRAD), which rates employee performance on a scale from “not enough impact” to “Transformative Impact.” Most employees typically fall into the “Significant Impact” category.
Under the new structure, managers will be allowed to assign the coveted “Outstanding Impact” rating to more employees, which directly affects compensation. Additionally, managers will receive increased discretionary budgets to reward high performers within the “Significant Impact” category.
However, Casey acknowledged that these changes would be “budget-neutral,” meaning some employees will receive less to fund the increases for top performers.

“We want to be upfront that to fund this we’ll be slightly reducing the bonus and equity individual multipliers for Significant Impact and Moderate Impact ratings,” Casey told staff in the email. “It’s important to note that Significant Impact will remain a strong rating — achieving it will still get you more than your target bonus.”
Google spokesperson Courtenay Mencini confirmed the changes, stating, “We’re making these changes to further reward top performers and continue our momentum across the company.”
The compensation adjustments come amid a broader trend in the tech industry, with companies like Microsoft and Meta implementing policies to increase performance pressure on employees. These changes will apply to end-of-year reviews and 2026 compensation planning at Google.
“The above changes are budget-neutral, and overall we’re continuing to invest in comprehensive and highly competitive compensation and benefits,” Casey concluded in his email to staff.

While Islamabad has warned against any move by India to stop sharing water, it has sparked humorous exchanges on social media, including digs at Pakistan over the issues it may face due to the lack of water.

The latest in this series is a viral video from India that shows a parcel of bottled water being readied to be sent to Hania Aamir, an actor and YouTuber from Pakistan who has a considerable fan following in India. She has over a million subscribers on YouTube and over 18 million followers on Instagram.

The video appears to be shot at a local courier service in India. “To Hania Aamir, Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan, from India,” read a note on the parcel seen in the video. Inside the box are over a dozen bottles of drinking water.

The man who shot the video is heard saying, “This boy brought a parcel today, and check who it is for. It’s for Hania Aamir. And see what’s inside – water bottles.”

The Indus treaty was signed in 1960 and had lived through three wars, 1965, 1971, and 1999. India suspended the treaty after terror links to Pakistan emerged in the massacre of 26 civilians in Pahalgam, citing “sustained cross-border terrorism”.

TS SSC Results 2025 LIVE: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Telangana has announced the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or Class 10 final examination results for 2025. The results show that regular candidates have secured a pass percentage of 92.78%, with girls outperforming boys at 94.26%. Students can now check their results online at bse.telangana.gov.in.

Apart from the official website, the results can also checked on the NDTV education portal at ndtv.com/education/results.

This year, over 5 lakh students appeared for the SSC examinations. Last year, the overall pass percentage was above 90%. This year too, a similar pass percentage is expected.

The SSC results will be available on the official website, bse.telangana.gov.in, and on other result portals, including the NDTV special page.

The DeFi platform, 60% owned by a Trump family entity, signed a letter of intent with the Pakistan Crypto Council to accelerate blockchain innovation and stablecoin adoption across the country. Pakistan Crypto Council, with backing from World Liberty and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, aims to establish the country as the “crypto capital of South Asia.” The council has criticized India’s 30% tax on crypto trades, suggesting Pakistan will take a more liberal approach. “We’ve seen this mistake before. India putting 30% tax on their crypto trades drastically reduced the exchange volume, our approach will be different,” Council chief Bin Sagib told Bloomberg.

The Trump connection to World Liberty is substantial. An entity called DT Marks DEFI LLC owns approximately 60% of the holding company and is entitled to 75% of certain revenues from coin sales. President Trump serves as “Chief Crypto Advocate,” while sons Eric and Donald Jr. hold the title of “Web3 Ambassador” and youngest son Barron is listed as “DeFi Visionary.”
The company raised approximately $300 million in October 2024 by selling tokens and plans to launch a stablecoin called USD1.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a morale-boosting victory against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign on Tuesday. Delhi, one of the most consistent sides this season, has now lost three of their last five matches, showing signs of nerves in the decisive stage of the campaign. DC’s defeat against KKR creates a lot of room for permutations and combinations to decide which four teams will seal a spot in the playoffs. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB): With 14 points already in their kitty, the Rajat Patidar-led franchise is pretty close to confirming a playoffs spot. But their real battle is to cement a top-2 spot in order to get a couple of chances for final qualification. With 4 games remaining, RCB only need to win 2 of these games to be assured of a top 4 spot.

Mumbai Indians (MI): With 6 wins in 10 matches, MI sit second in the points table. What’s most impressive is that the Hardik Pandya-led side has won 5 matches on the trot. 3 wins from the remaining 4 matches will guarantee them a top 4 spot but 2 wins are also likely to be enough.

Gujarat Titans (GT): With 6 wins in 9 matches, Gujarat have been one of the most in-form and consistent sides this campaign. With 5 games to go, the Shubman Gill-led side only needs to win at least 2 of these games to seal a top 4 spot. Three more wins in the remaining league games would guarantee them a top 4 finish.

Delhi Capitals (DC): With 4 defeats in their last 6 matches, Delhi Capitals do find themselves in a spot of bother. Thanks to their excellent start to the campaign, however, the Axar Patel-led side is still placed 4th in the points table. They need at least 2 more wins from the remaining 4 league games in order to be in control of the top 4 race.

Punjab Kings (PBKS): With 5 wins in 9 matches, Punjab Kings have had a topsy-turvy campaign. A washed-out encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders sees them placed 5th with 11 points in the kitty. From the remaining 5 games, Punjab should look to bag at least 3 more wins. Such a run of results would see them qualify for the playoffs. 2 wins might also be enough.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG): Splashing cash on Rishabh Pant hasn’t earned Lucknow the sort of results they would’ve desired, but the franchise still has a practical chance of a top 4 finish. They need to win at least 3 of their remaining 4 games of the league campaign to seal a top 4 spot.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): The Knight Rides had to dig deep in order to carve out a favourable result against Delhi. With 4 more matches to go, winning at least three of them is absolutely mandatory for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side, 4 would be ideal.

Rajasthan Royals (RR): Still within the mathematical shout of a top 4 finish, Rajasthan Royals would aggregate 14 points on the board if they win go on a perfect winning streak from there on. But, their qualification would still depend on the teams above them losing those decisive games in order to create space for their qualification.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): One of the favourites ahead of the start of the campaign, but SRH failed to live up to the pre-season hype. With 5 games to go, the scenario is pretty clear for the Pat Cummins-led side. They can’t afford to lose a single game from here on, else, their campaign would be over.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK): The season is practically over for MS Dhoni‘s men, with just 2 wins in 9 matches. Even if the Super Kings win their remaining 5 games, they would only go on to have a total of 14 points. With a Net Run Rate of -1.302, this is unlikely to be enough for a top 4 finish. However, there remains a slender possibility.

Yuvraj Singh, 18, son of former India pacer Yograj Singh, was a star of India’s victorious U-19 WC campaign in Sri Lanka, and made it to the Indian team. In the ICC KnockOut quarterfinal against Australia in Nairobi, he entered with India in trouble at 90/3. The power and punch that he generated while playing off the backfoot to pacers like Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and Jason Gillespie left spectators awestruck. Yuvraj went on to become a great in white-ball cricket.

And, if you’re still in school, open your geometry textbook and continue studying the parabola. That is what this 19-yearold from Baroda produced to dismiss the savage Aussie batter. Changing his line of attack from round to over the wicket, Irfan drew Gilchrist forward, created a gap, got the ball to tail in at his toes very late and defeated Gilchrist’s defences to hit timber. It was sorcery. Fittingly, it was Bill Lawry’s roar of “bowled him, what a ripper” that called the moment.

Citing “credible intelligence”, Pakistan said India is planning military action against Islamabad in the next 24-36 hours. It further warned New Delhi of “catastrophic” consequences in the complete region and beyond in the event of such action.

“Pakistan has credible intelligence that India intends to carry out military action against Pakistan in the next 24-36 hours on the pretext of baseless and concocted allegations of involvement in the Pahalgam incident,” he said.

Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said Indian forces were preparing to launch an attack on the basis of “baseless and concocted allegations” regarding the country’s involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people.

Tarar said India is playing “judge, jury and executioner”, a role it it rejects. “Being a responsible state, Pakistan open heartedly offered a credible, transparent and independent investigation by a neutral commission of experts to ascertain the truth,” he said, adding that Islamabad has been a victim of terrorism itself.

Reiterating Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, urging the international community to “remain alive to the reality that the onus of escalatory spiral and its ensuing consequences shall squarely lie with India”.

The statement came hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the top defence brass that the armed forces have “complete operational freedom” to decide on the mode, targets and timing of India’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack, government sources told PTI. Earlier, he had said that India will “identify, track, and punish” the terrorists behind the deadly attack at Jammu and Kashmir’s scenic Baisaran meadow and pursue the killers to the “ends of the earth”.

Tensions across the border mounted after a raft of measures taken by India in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. India expelled Pakistani military attaches, suspended the Indus Water Treaty of 1960, revoked all visas issued to Pakistani nationals from April 27 and immediately shut down of the Attari land-transit post.

Ceasefire violations along the Line Of Control continued for the sixth consecutive day on Tuesday, as India responded to unprovoked firing from the Pakistan posts.
